Porridge here is so good. I think everything could use a pinch of salt, but thats perfect so that everyone could adjust to their liking. Parking is ample. Perfect on a cold day.

Wasn't feeling my usual 100% so I got some porridge/ congee. This place is great for some comfort Asian congee. It's a rare business but I'm glad this exists. Got the chicken and ground beef juk to go and it was still hot reaching home. I'm like 40 minutes away. Food tasted like home and was very comforting

One of my favorite eats when in town. Such a small, authentic Korean porridge shop. Their menu consists of majority of the common types of Korean juk. My favorites are abalone juk and the tendon juk. Service is always friendly, they take a little longer to bring your food out. But it's understandable since porridge takes a little more time to prepare. The quality is always consistent.

If you like rice porridge/congee/juk, look no further. This is the only place in DFW that specializes in Korean rice porridge. It's a big chain from Korea too. The restaurant itself is very small and intimate, and there was only one employee running the whole place when my friends and I came. We ordered seafood mix, spicy octopus, and non-spicy octopus juk and beef bulgogi hot pot. The juk had a nice texture of porridge and the little side dishes that come with them complimented it very well. The spicy octopus wasn't as spicy as I was hoping it to be, but it was still pleasant. The seafood mix juk had significantly more seafood flavor than the three of the juks we ordered, so I highly recommend that one if you are not used to eating mild food like juk. The hotpot beef bulgogi which was basically a hot stone bibimbap was surprisingly pleasant for a restaurant that does not specialize in it. It had ample amount of meat and vegetables along with side of gochujang and specially seasoned soy sauce which actually paired very well with juk as well. Overall juk is juk and is a dish not known to be bursting with flavor, but rather mild and easy for your stomach, making it a perfect meal for breakfast or when you're sick. Don't expect to be served heavily seasoned food and you will enjoy it.

The abalone juk here is THE BOMB SO GOOD!!! I could eat this porridge everyday, delicious! Service is super friendly and pretty fast to receive food too. The side dishes included are also tasty. Highly recommend !!!! Cozy small restaurant, very good

I was excited to try Charm Juk because I never had Korean congee, and Charm Juk did not disappoint. I grew up on Chinese congee, so it's one of my favorite comfort food. We tried the spicy octopus and beef juk. Each came at a large bowl with small side dishes on a try. Good flavors and making this a great option for a cold day to have a large warm bowl of congee. Minor preference thing, my spicy octopus juk, while tasted really good, was overloaded with bean sprouts. Some may prefer it, but I felt like every bite is filled with sprouts and sometimes, I just want a nice mouth full of flavored rice.

I looove this place! I took my family here the other day for the first time and we were all happy with the food! I ordered the seafood combination congee and everything tasted so fresh! Lots of seafood were included! It also came with 3 side dishes. I highly recommend this place and cannot wait to go back! Two thumbs up from me! :)

Excellent service and the kimchi oyster juk was amazing. Place is small, and it was pretty quiet but did not have to wait for seating.

If you are looking for Charm Juk it is located on the right side of H Mart; literally tucked in. It's a small shop with tasty and comforting plates and friendly staff. This is a great spot for someone who wants to try juk with their different varieties. I got the chicken juk and really enjoyed it with the Bonchan on the side.

Temp is dropping so we wanted something warm! I haven't had Juk since I was in Korea 20+ years ago and was excited to see a local Juk Joint I loved my dish and the bonchan, the mushroom bonchan was really tasty! Also I really appreciate places with good water! Can def tell the water they serve isn't tap, might be kangen or another alkaline water which makes the meal that much better! Cute place next to Hmart!!! Stop by for something cozy & warm!

Before the main event, we got the seafood & green onion pancake. Crispy on the outside and reasonably chewy interior. Good amount of seafood; in particular, the oyster stood out. It was also a nice portion that was ideal for sharing. I opted for the seafood soondubu. Everything, from the banchan to the specific side dishes served with the soondubu, came out not too long after ordering. I got it at spice level three which I thought offered the right amount of kick without being too overwhelming (I also like to think I have a pretty strong spice tolerance). It had a good variety of seafood; namely, the shrimp and oyster. I'm not the biggest fan of clams but they were definitely still tasty. The tofu was soft and silky. The yellow croaker and rice were great supplements to the dish. The rice perfectly absorbed the broth. The croaker added a nice crunchy break from everything. The banchan was pretty standard in my opinion - still, a great complement to the soondubu. Last but not least - service was attentive and quick. I will definitely be coming back at some point!

The restaurant had plenty of space, but service was still super fast and efficient anyway, which I loved. What I love about Chodang is that the food is stellar and such good PORTIONS. Knowing this, I still opted to order a Combo Special because the thought of having leftovers for the next day sounded great to me. I ordered the Kimchi Tofu Soup with Beef Bulgogi, and it was delicious. I usually order my soups at the Spicy level, which I would say has a kick and flavor but never leaves me panting for air or water. As someone who likes spice, I wouldn't say it's very spicy, but definitely flavorful. Beef Bulgogi is one of my favorite dishes, and this place's version does not disappoint. The meat is tender and has a good balance of sweet and salty. My friends also ordered Combo Specials with a Tofu soup and the Korean bbq ribs, and Spicy Pork Bulgogi. One of these friends opted for the medium spice level, which I would say is a safe choice for everyone, especially if you're worried about something being too spicy. All soups come with Korean side dishes, a whole grilled yellow croaker fish (delicious but lots of bones), and a hot stone bowl of rice. Nothing missed!
