We booked Charlottesville Transportation to pick us up from Dulles (and drive us back a week later). Richard Montoya was waiting for us when we arrived and drove us smoothly and quietly back to C'ville. The car was spacious and clean and comfortable, and he was quick to notice we were totally spaced out from 14 hours of travel. On the way back to Dulles he was able to make a last minute adjustment in our itinerary without extra charge or fuss. We were more present by then and enjoyed chatting with him about C'ville and its many changes. Richard is interesting and knowledgable, and up to date on city history and development. Honestly, a driver who knows when to chat and when to keep their peace is worth their weight in gold. I needed an early morning ride to the airport, so I went to Yelp to find a transportation service that I could schedule. I saw a number of places with bad reviews about on-time performance. I called Charlottesville Transportation on Wednesday afternoon to schedule a 4:30 a.m. Thursday pickup for the airport. The gentleman I spoke with was very professional. I received a text at 4:26 a.m. this morning letting me know he was outside whenever I was ready. When I got outside, a well-dressed guy helped load my suitcase and drove me to the airport, making pleasant conversation but not overdoing it. At the airport, he took payment, accepted my tip, and helped me with my suitcase. This is how all transportation experiences should be, but apparently that isn't the case with other companies. I can't say enough about this company!!! I was unable to get a rental car due to Easter/spring break. I needed to get to Petersburg WV. My father is in hospice care and I needed to get there ASAP. My flight from Charleston SC was delayed leaving and I missed my connection to Dulles. I was booked on the next flight to Charlottesville, however it was 5 hours later, than I had planned. Mr. Montoya was waiting for me when I arrived, ready to transport me for the additional 2.5 hours. It was after 10 when I arrived. Then Mr. Montoya had the return 2.5 hour drive back to Charlottesville. He had to be back on duty at 4:30 am. I felt like I had made a good friend for life. I would give a 100 star rating if I could. I was able to rebook out of RIC but didn't want to take a car there because I was flying back to CHO. The trip was for my son's graduation so I was a wreck. This is simply the most professional outfit I have ever used--coming from a 55 year-old native New Yorker. I used them twice before my most recent trip arranged for my daughter to come home from school.
