I am notoriously bad about following up with reviews but for Charlottesville Transportation and Taxi I am happy to make an exception. I had a family emergency while in Charlottesville without my car and had to get back to Philadelphia ASAP. The next train wasn't for 7 hours! I called CT & T and within 15 minutes Richard was at my hotel in a clean and spacious SUV. He got me to Union Station in DC where I caught an AMTRAK train that got me to Philly before I would have left Charlottesville otherwise. Everything turned out to be fine in the end but when things were in question Richard provided a safe, reassuring and speedy ride. This company is top notch!!! read more

I can't say enough good things about Charlottesville Transportation! We booked our reservation last minute with Richard and he worked his magic and was able to accommodate us!! We had the absolute best time! Gabriel (Richards son) was prompt, super friendly and had a very clean car. He knew the area and got us to everywhere we wanted to stop at. I will 100% book again with them for our next winery tour! read more

I've met these guys multiple times at the various wineries where I work. They are reliable and provide a wonderful experience. This is high end transport at a reasonable price. I've recommended them to many people and everyone has been thrilled with their service. read more

Richard arrived early and was so personable! Our hotel called him for a ride to a concert back in February and I will always use him now when I'm in the area! Highly recommend! read more

We booked Charlottesville Transportation to pick us up from Dulles (and drive us back a week later). Richard Montoya was waiting for us when we arrived and drove us smoothly and quietly back to C'ville. The car was spacious and clean and comfortable, and he was quick to notice we were totally spaced out from 14 hours of travel. On the way back to Dulles he was able to make a last minute adjustment in our itinerary without extra charge or fuss. We were more present by then and enjoyed chatting with him about C'ville and its many changes. Richard is interesting and knowledgable, and up to date on city history and development. Honestly, a driver who knows when to chat and when to keep their peace is worth their weight in gold. Prices are quite reasonable, and considering the driver's 4-hour round trip involved from C'ville to Dulles, downright economical. We would definitely book again! read more

We had a great time with Richard and Charlottesville transportation. He was early, had a very nice and comfortable SUV, and was very helpful with suggestions for things to do in the area. Reasonable prices as well. We booked this service for a day of touring the local vineyards. Was a great time and can't wait to come back. Will definitely use Charlottesville transportation again! read more

Very reliable- arranged for last minute drop off to the Charlottesville airport. They were on time and provided excellent service but prices were unreasonably high. $100 for an 11 mile trip. Unfortunately we were desperate and had to pay it but are also grateful to have made the flight, read more

When visiting or touring the Charlottesville area you must reserve Richard to drive you around! Charlottesville Transportation & Taxi http://www.charlottesvilletaxi.com/. He made our day so convenient, felt like royalty with the service he provided. He was so friendly! Super easy to communicate with and so accommodating. He knew his way around with expert knowledge and was a safe driver who knew exactly how to navigate the windy roads and complicated drive-ways leading to the winery stops. His recommendations and suggestions enhanced our entire experience in the area too! He even stopped for find us ingredients for dinner and showed us adorable shops off the beaten path. So friendly, affordable, convenient, and professional. 5 star service, clean and cold vehicle, waters provided, and he did not even complain when we made him our photographer at times. Such a great great driver!!! Thank you Richard we cannot wait to book you next time! read more

I needed an early morning ride to the airport, so I went to Yelp to find a transportation service that I could schedule. I saw a number of places with bad reviews about on-time performance. I called Charlottesville Transportation on Wednesday afternoon to schedule a 4:30 a.m. Thursday pickup for the airport. The gentleman I spoke with was very professional. I received a text at 4:26 a.m. this morning letting me know he was outside whenever I was ready. When I got outside, a well-dressed guy helped load my suitcase and drove me to the airport, making pleasant conversation but not overdoing it. At the airport, he took payment, accepted my tip, and helped me with my suitcase. This is how all transportation experiences should be, but apparently that isn't the case with other companies. If you want friendly, reliable, professional transportation service, do yourself a favor and call Charlottesville Transportation. read more

I can't say enough about this company!!! I was unable to get a rental car due to Easter/spring break. I needed to get to Petersburg WV. My father is in hospice care and I needed to get there ASAP. My flight from Charleston SC was delayed leaving and I missed my connection to Dulles. I was booked on the next flight to Charlottesville, however it was 5 hours later, than I had planned. Mr. Montoya was waiting for me when I arrived, ready to transport me for the additional 2.5 hours. It was after 10 when I arrived. Then Mr. Montoya had the return 2.5 hour drive back to Charlottesville. He had to be back on duty at 4:30 am. I felt like I had made a good friend for life. I would give a 100 star rating if I could. They are the best ever!!!!! read more

I have used Charlottesville Transportation and Taxi several times and highly recommend them to anyone in need of reliable and professional transportation. Richard & Gabriel have always been prompt & friendly and I sleep a lot easier knowing they are picking me up ahead of an early morning flight. What a great job by our driver Richard. Great driver, good demeanor and knowledgeable information of the Charlottesville wine region. He gave us some great recommendations and was very prompt and courteous. I'll be calling him again when we come back to the area. read more

Reliable, convenient, and friendly. Always appreciative of an Uber-alternative especially at an early hour.

Richard Montoya has this business with his son. They are reliable and courteous and follow up to ensure the reservation is correct. I appreciated being picked up on time to get to the airport with time to spare. In this time of Covid, it's also assuring that the driver wears a good mask and keeps his vehicle impeccably clean. Charlottesville Transportation will be my "go to" transportation on my future visits to Charlottesville! read more

Best car service! I had planned a trip with my friends to visit the wineries and we were very fortunate to get Richard as our driver. We weren't sure which ones to go to and he took us to the greatest places. He was so professional but at the same time so much fun. Elizabeth, Virginia Beach read more

I hired Charlottesville Transportation & Taxi on Tuesday, March 13th to get to the airport from downtown C'ville. Richard Montoya made my reservation the day before. Richard was also my driver who arrived right on time. His vehicle was spotless. Richard was a gentleman, extremely professional and an excellent driver. I felt safe and at ease. There are other options for hired transportation in the Charlottesville area, but Charlottesville Transportation & Taxi will always be my first choice. Thank you Richard for you outstanding service! read more

Richard, owner of Charlottesville Transportation, came to my rescue today. As I was going to bed last night, I received a text that my flight out of CHO had been canceled. I was able to rebook out of RIC but didn't want to take a car there because I was flying back to CHO. The trip was for my son's graduation so I was a wreck. I called Charlottesville Taxi about 11 last night and Richard agreed to pick me up at 330 AM. The car was extremely clean, Richard was nice to chat with and I appreciated the bottled water and use of his cell phone charger. He got me there in plenty of time and it was a pleasant trip. I'll call again! read more

This is simply the most professional outfit I have ever used--coming from a 55 year-old native New Yorker. I used them twice before my most recent trip arranged for my daughter to come home from school. The driver picked her up in a spotless, new SUV and drove to then pick up my son's girlfriend outside of DC and then home to us. Due to the distance and the traffic the overall trip took 10 hours. Throughout this time, I was completely confident that the passengers were comfortable and safe. Having peace of mind for such a long haul is something you could only obtain with a family-operated company. I highly recommend them for any trip long or small or a tour of any type. read more
