We did not really see the grounds that night when we drove in. We had to 'self check-in' and found our room. We were pleasantly surprised at how great the room was. We had a wood burning stove, flat screen TV, huge bed with comfy bed linens, and a huge private bathroom. The next morning we woke up to the smells of breakfast. We made it out to the dining room and there was a delicious spread along with the owners serving us and making plenty if conversation. We really enjoyed it. After breakfast we took a walk around the property, WOW. It was amazing. The farm is so pretty and truly a great spot for leaf peeping. I can't wait to go back next year!!

There is a nice little cafe/dining area consisting of (I believe) two rooms, and there were also people dining outside on the front porch, where the tables have umbrellas. This old building has charm, and I think they have guest rooms upstairs. Just as I began poking around a room that I realized was an antique shop, the waitress came and found me, and my dinner was ready. Definitely a nice experience at this place. I took the food home, and I was satisfied. The very large piece of haddock was nicely breaded and tasty. The baked potato was also very good - I think it was baked with sea salt, resulting in a very flavorful skin. The cole slaw had pineapple in it. I thought this was weird, but when I finished it, I definitely wanted more. I think this meal cost $12 and change, and I felt that it was a good value. This is a solid spot for Friday fish fry, especially considering the surrounding area. I'll be back, not only because of the food, but the service and character.

All of the rooms are en suite and very comfortable. There is also a living room where we hung out after dinner one night and met the other guests. In the entryway there is bottled water and a fridge for guests with glassware. The entrance is on a keypad so you can get in 24 hours a day. There is a nice backyard area as well which we were unable to enjoy as it rained the entire weekend. Reservations can only be made over the phone, and there are only 4 rooms, so be sure to book in advance.

Between the waterfalls, game room, Netflix, life-sized chess, foosball, air hockey, the Crooked Cabana bar, hot tub, and dry sauna -- this place truly has it all. When hubs and I need a break from the bustle, Woodstock Inn has been our answer. Due to COVID, Woodstock Inn has done away with paying in-person at the Office/Café. And because of more safety and hygienic protocols, prices have increased. Woodstock Inn has the bones of a motel, but it's far from it. You won't find tacky statues, mismatched smokers' chairs in front of the rooms or odd pastel paint jobs. Each studio, 1-bedroom or rental home(s) have their own modern+country style. Beddings are white, crisp and clean- and none of that grandma's doily collection stuff. I've always backed away from motels, but we actually stayed at another this past summer and honestly, my appreciation for motels ESPECIALLY if they have been upgraded into something shiny and new, is worth staying in.

The…read moreinn was clearly a motel in a previous life, as it had that lengthy structure with outdoor entrances to each room. The parking lot was gravel-based, so vehicles were parked a bit haphazardly, but the lot's spaciousness ensured that it was not really an issue. The hotel was right on the stream with a lovely grassy area dotted with Adirondack chairs, hammocks, and other ways to enjoy the view. The office was located right next to that little park and was also where the continental buffet breakfast was served. The small room had a great view of the water from its few tables. The breakfast options included various hot beverages, several types of milk, yogurt, berries, granola, pastries, breads, hard-boiled eggs, lox, tomatoes, cucumbers, and more. It was really the perfect few bites to start the day with energy and wellness. While the inn had a few larger cabins, many of the rooms were supposedly rather tiny, including ours. The room had a queen-sized bed, nightstand, wall-mounted television, and wooden desk with matching chair. There was a closet with some hanging and shelving space, as well as a hair dryer and coffeemaker. The room really left a lot to be desired from a space perspective, as it was hard to navigate. For instance, the room might have come with 2 luggage racks, but there was really only space for one. The bathroom was also tiny, and it was near impossible to use the toilet without sideswiping the pedestal sink on your way. The shower was a decent size at least. The bathroom came with fluffy towels and Aveda products, which were both appreciated. We also loved that the temperature and pressure of the water were phenomenal; in fact, the shower was like a fire hose! Though the room was small, it was SPOTLESS! Also, its individual heater packed a great deal of warmth. There was not an abundance of electrical outlets, but the alarm clock had one built in, as well as two USB ports. The extremely gracious staff had also left a binder of local recommendations for us on the table. The bed, however, was lumpy, and the pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. From a location standpoint, the inn was only a few blocks from either end of town, depending on which way you wanted to travel. The residential roads were very dark at night and many did not have sidewalks, so we definitely needed to be alert walking to and from the main drag, even though we knew the town was overly safe. The Woodstock Inn on the Millstream made up for its lack of amenities and small rooms with efficient, friendly service and clear dedication to guest satisfaction.

My husband and I stayed there for an evening and found the owner, Ed to be very welcoming and hospitable. The rates are very reasonable too. The Inn itself is kept in pristine condition, it however hasn't been update in a number of years. The furnishing are dated but again, it was neat as a pin and not a speck of dust to be found. The only draw back is that there is one bathroom that is shared for all 5 bedrooms. If you're staying with a group of friends or family, that might be a little more comfortable.
