Every inch felt welcoming and comfortable for our family of four. The waterfall at the Stratton Falls campus was absolutely stunning and incredibly relaxing. Falling asleep to the sound of the water from our deck made the experience feel truly special. Even with the cold weather, there were still plenty of activities to keep our family entertained. Between the waterfalls, game room, Netflix, life-sized chess, foosball, air hockey, the Crooked Cabana bar, hot tub, and dry sauna -- this place truly has it all. A special thank you to Chuck for making our Mother's Day weekend even more memorable than we could have imagined. From the cookies and coffee to the kids' welcome packets, every detail reflected warmth and care. We could not imagine a more family-friendly and welcoming experience. This was our third stay here, and it somehow keeps getting better every time. We already cannot wait to come back again and bring even more of our family with us next time.

Our bagged breakfast was missing a few items we ordered. That really was not ideal, as we had a long drive ahead of us to the city. So we ended up having to stop to get a couple of things since what we planned on having was not there. Also, the wait for someone to be at check in was long. We went to the Stratton falls first accidentally. It's 2.5 miles from where our location was. Apparently, the guy at check in saw us and knew we were at the wrong property (they were full at that location) but didn't tell us when he saw us. (We didn't see him). When my son finally found someone (that guy) he said "I saw you when you came in and knew you went to the wrong place...". Ok.... So you just let us stand around for 12 min, before we went searching for you? He wouldn't even give us more than "it's down the road." Directions to the other place. That guy was an awful first impression. The lady at our location was lovely, but he made the initial feeling stick with me. So, customer service sucked because of him. I had friends that came to meet us from 30 min away and had to wait an additional 20 min thanks to that guy. Would I suggest it? If the service continues like it was... no. Fun themes though. I hear they moved to new ownership, so maybe that's what is going on.

The Mill Pond Inn & Tavern - A piece grilled bacon ornamented the top of this chef created burger. Can't remember its name but wow so good. Great fries too!

We enjoy the outdoor seating on the front porch and restaurant. We even took a dusk walk around the lake. The owners are super nice and helpful. The chef's food and dessert was so good I proposed. Lol It was one of the best restaurants I have been to in a long while and the menu was so fresh and diverse. They even had live music on the weekend which was so lovely. Can't wait to return!

The chef at the Mill Pond Inn isn't just cooking -- he's performing delicious miracles every day that they're open. My boyfriend and I literally plan our trips upstate around dinner here. Forget the scenic views or rustic charm -- we come for the bread, stay for the entrées, and weep with joy over dessert (literally took 3 desserts home last night and went back tonight). Honestly, I'm shocked there's a rating below 5 stars. Who hurt you, people? Did the mashed potatoes remind you of a lost love? Because otherwise, this place is perfection. I wish I could post a photo, but the food disappears faster than my willpower to not over order when I'm here. Pro tip: bring stretchy pants and a good appetite. You'll need both.

Stony Creek Farmstead - Such a cute setup -- covered tables here, plus some more tables with umbrellas

But Kate and Dan structured our stay to feel safe without feeling restricted. They have a great setup of six family size tents that are distanced enough to allow us to enjoy nature in solitude. They combine the best parts of camping, cabin life and a bed and breakfast. We took our two kids (five and eight years old) and they had a ball playing in the creek, swimming in the pond, playing with the dogs. In short, it's a perfect place for kids to experience the simple joys of being kids. The tents are rustic enough for an outdoorsman but comfortable enough for someone who prefers sleeping indoors. Cooking meals on your own wood-burning stove takes a bit longer, yes, but the locally sourced food is amazing. Friday night pizza night is the big event of the week. Wood-fired oven pizzas, delicious salads from the gardens and bring your own wine. And the Saturday farm breakfast hits the spot if you're dragging a bit from the previous evening's festivities. We highly recommend Stony Creek as a getaway and hope to be back next year. Thanks, Kate and Dan!

She's now 8 and we can't stop her from running. We look forward to this trip every single year. The kids love it- my 10 year old told me that this was her favorite trip and we have paid much more and traveled much further than this. The adults love giving the kids their privacy and independence. The kids are able to hike, walk the creek, collect eggs, visit the animals, milk the cow.. and the adults just need to sit back and relax. The farm store has everything you need if you want to pack light. Kate and Dan, the owners, are commited to sustainable farming and education- the kids always learn something. Save room for pizza night- it's always delicious. The tents sleep a family of 6 comfortably with a king size bed, two single bunks, and a cabinet bed suitable for two younger kids. When we needed it, there was room for a pack and play (which the farm does have on hand if you need it). Don't hesitate to book here- we've been here for all seasons- the first to check in and the last to check out. It's always pleasant. We're already looking forward to next year.

Homemade soups, awesome chili, fancy Chicago Dog on worlds best bun, incredible and HUGE chicken salad sandwich all served in quaint (but not too "foofy") dining room in old classic home. New Berlin looks like its fallen/falling on some hard times, hopefully this quality place survives! We will plan our next trip up to make it to a Friday Fish Fry, I'm sure it will be wonderful. One tip, hard to tell its a cafe when driving through town, so keep your eyes peeled!

I was greeted by a very pleasant young host, and she quickly found a waitress to take my order. I figured I would have some time while waiting, so I started to explore other areas of the building, besides the front hallway. There is a nice little cafe/dining area consisting of (I believe) two rooms, and there were also people dining outside on the front porch, where the tables have umbrellas. This old building has charm, and I think they have guest rooms upstairs. Just as I began poking around a room that I realized was an antique shop, the waitress came and found me, and my dinner was ready. Definitely a nice experience at this place. I took the food home, and I was satisfied. The very large piece of haddock was nicely breaded and tasty. The baked potato was also very good - I think it was baked with sea salt, resulting in a very flavorful skin. The cole slaw had pineapple in it. I thought this was weird, but when I finished it, I definitely wanted more. I think this meal cost $12 and change, and I felt that it was a good value. This is a solid spot for Friday fish fry, especially considering the surrounding area. I'll be back, not only because of the food, but the service and character.

But the owners, Steve and Cathy, are what MAKE this venue absolute perfection. This property is their home, and they care for their guests like their own family - they put their heart and soul into this venue, and do the same when caring for their bridal couple. My husband and I were originally looking for a venue in Hudson Valley, but our guest size, desire for a weekend event, and Fall-timed nuptials prompted us to expand our search further into the Catskills. Thank goodness it did! When we arrived at the venue for our first visit, it was September, and the grounds were still beautifully lush and green, with blooming flowers. We were quickly won over by the treelines, ponds, and gardens. Steve is a horticulturist, and has cultivated every inch of the property with love - and it shows. We knew it would the tree-lines would be perfect for our fall wedding, complete with yellow, orange, and red foliage (and it was!). On that first day, Steve and Cathy took us on a tour of the property, and we loved that there were plenty of options to host a number of events, and have it feel like a 'different' venue for each aspect of our wedding weekend. They also had plenty of recommendations for us - from caterers to local hotel/private home accommodations. We booked with them a little more than a year in advance, and they stayed highly responsive and communicative right up until our wedding weekend. They also let us know that we were welcome to come back at any time to take photos (including engagement pictures), or make plans for our wedding weekend. We didn't end up doing so because we live in New York City, but it was helpful to know the option was there! During our wedding weekend, we ended up using the property for two days: On Friday, we held a Color Wars style game day for our guests, followed by a welcome party dinner in the forest. On Saturday, we had an outdoor ceremony, followed by a reception in the barn/event center, topped off with a s'mores bonfire under the stars. The weekend was magical, in large part thanks to Steve and Cathy. Unfortunately, we had a wedding planner who under-delivered, and Steve and Cathy were well aware of the stress and hardship that this caused us. But they made sure that we were well-taken care of, and graciously took on MUCH MORE than they should have had to to ensure the weekend was as successful as possible. From ensuring our cake was on display for our guests, to golf-carting us around the property to get photos/video in as many settings as possible, to combing the property for lost items the morning after, Steve and Cathy went above and beyond our expectations. And our guests absolutely LOVED all the photo ops with the beautiful fall scenery. We couldn't have picked a better spot to start our forever. Thank you, Steve and Cathy! PS - A few things to know/be mindful of: There's no mobile/wi-fi service (yet), but they are working on it. We actually loved that we (and our guests) were able to completely disconnect. It made for a better party! There is an onsite bridal house with plenty of couches, a bedroom, and sizeable makeup/hair space for wedding day. This bridal house was my absolutely LIFESAVER - it was a great place to retreat, get my zen, and prepare for the long day of wedding festivities. Steve and Cathy are constantly making upgrades to the venue - so ask about what they may have in store for your target dates. In between our booking and our actual wedding weekend, they built out some restrooms by the bonfire area which was also near we were had our "games." It was a perfect addition that was totally unexpected!

They worked nonstop, handling details large and small for our frankly, very disorganized group. They really are amazing! If you're considering Natural Gardens for any kind of event, I strongly recommend that you come and tour the property because the website simply cannot do justice to this stunning place. As you walk the grounds you'll find yourself thinking "This is the loveliest spot" each time you round another bend. The beautiful color palette in the trees, flowers and grasses will change with every visit. Cathy and Steve seem to be constantly improving the venue--we had a great cocktail hour after the ceremony at their new outdoor reception area. Some of our guests were the first to stay in the glamping cottages. Cathy catered our Friday night dinner. She's a really talented chef--and you'll be able to check out her culinary skills at the tavern they're opening soon on the property. We had a truly wonderful experience. There are so many choices one has to make for a wedding. The best decision we made was to hold it at The Natural Gardens.
