Great show and incredibly high energy. My hats off to these performers! Quick whittled and funny! Very simple yet professional production. Great job!

Improv class at CCT is amazing! Keli is a gem of an instructor and mentor; she's also wildly hilarious. She has 20 years of improv experience and learned with the greats in Chicago. I feel so embraced at CCT - it's the community I've been longing for! What I love best about improv is the trust and friendships cultivated in the class. I see the positive impact improv is having on my life - I'm more relaxed, confident, and trusting. I also haven't laughed this much in a long time and it feels great!

Definitely make sure to get there early so you can order and eat before the opening acts come on! We were seated with our back against our table so it was awkward to have to turn around to eat or grab our drink during the show. Nachos were MASSIVE, served on a legit platter. Like.. could feed 4 people. Next time I would ask them to sub the awful melted shredded cheese that comes with it, with queso. They have queso on the menu, not sure why it's not on the nachos. If they nachos had queso they would've been absolutely fantastic. My friend ordered an old fashion which she said was okay. And chocolate cake which she also said was just okay. Overall great spot! Just straight up the stairs when you walk in. Parking here sucks. No parking validation, just have to find a paid street spot or pay for a garage.

There really is SO much you need to know about this place they don't tell you on their web OR if…read moreyou call to ask questions. Primarily, that is this club offers the opportunity to enjoy a meal and bar beverages during the show. They did reference 'the food/drink' minimum but they don't tell what that means. Which is you must order food and drinks, two each per person. IF you order off the menu, the 'the minimum' sill applies. They give you the option of General Admission or Reserved Seating and there is about a $10 price difference but no advantage as far as your table location or proximity to the stage. When you reach the top of the stairs, check in with host desk, they scan your tix and seat you. You are not asked where you want to be seated, they put you where they want you, even if it's Reserved seating which is about $45.00. More than likely you'll be seated at a table with other people. They have an FAQ page which I highly recommend you read, otherwise you'll be blindsided and surprised but a lot of stuff. We went on a Friday and there was one show starting at 7p. They open the doors at 6p and then the host begins seating people as they enter. I noticed it's a fairly large 'L' shaped room so if you're seated at tables just as you enter, you'll be looking at the 'side' of the stage and you won't see the tables to the right but you will hear the people laughing. It's confusing because if you DON'T know the above and you want to have a meal before the show, you might think you NEED to dine in the downstairs restaurant/bar area. The difference is the menu in the Comedy club is somewhat limited though it is more than appetizers. Michelle had the chicken fajita nachos which were enormous. I had a wedge salad with grilled salmon which was very good. The service was outstanding and I never had to worry about the wait staff coming by with re-fills. We were there to see Leah Ruddick who was very funny. It turns out she was the initial performer at the first show. There were two comedians going on before Leah. The one dude who also acted as MC wearing a sparkly jacket made it clear right away he was gay. His ENTIRE routine was going into the details about 'gay life'. A lot of profanity and a lot of TMI. I didn't find it funny or entertaining learning about deviant behavior. The next act was a black lady named Kandy Kaine. Again, a lot of profanity. Turns out she is a 3rd grade special ed teacher in public schools. Her deal was talking about the challenges of her students and essentially making fun of them. There was also a bit where she asked if there were any Christians in he audience. A few raised their hand and she proceeded to ask they give her names of 'gangasta' bible characters. The first guy yells 'judas' and all her jokes were making fun of his betrayal of Jesus but Judas. Again, for me not funny or entertaining. I had seen several youtube clips of Leah before hand. She portrays a character 'the wealthy lady'. She files around the US in her 'PJ', private jet. She talks about her 13 ex husbands and her attraction to men with tiny fingers. You need to know that parking can be an issue. There is currently construction going on and there are detours, in addition there are multiple one-way streets. You must be intentional on what street you enter if you want to park in a garage. Otherwise there maybe random street parking available.

Don't be intimidated but the line if you show up a little later than others, the staff here are not new to this and after a quick security check, you're in no problem. Host asks for your name and they bring you to your table (chosen by venue based on ticket purchase). Seating can be a little tight, but the room is a lot bigger than you would think. You'll definitely be hearing your neighboring laughs, but it's good for the soul. Food is certainly not the highlight here, so I'd recommend eating dinner or a meal before your show. Overall, if you want a cozy and personal comedy experience, this is the place to be. Be on the lookout for your favorite touring comedian, because it's likely they're coming to Charlotte's Comedy Zone at some point.

FOOD ZERO STARS Unfortunately, the food is a completely different story. Do yourself a favor and eat before or after. The quality is very low tastes like cheap, frozen food and definitely doesn't match the vibe of the venue. Chips Stale Chicken Tenders tasted like cardboard Fried Pickles Mushy Fries Cold Pretzel was the only thing that wasn't terrible.

It is based on when you arrive, so the earlier you get there, i suppose the better the seats will be and closer to the stage. There is no planned seating, you can pay about 50% more to get VIP seating, which is closer to the stage, but they sure do pack people in. Staff were ok, not sure friendly, but checked on us regularly before the show started to see if we wanted any food or drink. Food menu is very basic bar food fries, nachos, chicken fingers and sandwiches and pizzas. The drink menu is decent, with a handful of options both on tap and in cans/bottles The spaces is much bigger inside than I expected, but again, they pack they place tight, to the point you're bumping elbows with the people at the tables next to you. The show was good, and no matter where you sit, you're not too far from the stage, and the sound system projects the performers well. Pricing definitely varies from show to show, but with the right comic, I'd certainly come back for another show.
