First time coming to this place love the fact how I was greeted when I first walked in. Took my time looking over the menu, I decided to get some breakfast to start my day. Decided to get chicken fried steak and hash browns, and a side of toast. Food was served nice and hot, couldn't complain. Before I left I checked out the restroom it was spotless and well stocked I would come here again in thr future.

So disappointed. I got the chili cheese fries with onions. The chilli and fries were both undercooked. The cheese tasted old as well. The fries were soft and not crunchy and the chilli had a very odd taste. I took a few bites and had to throw it away. I'm on a hunt for the best chili cheese fries in Las Vegas. I was told the chilli cheese fries here were good. So I came to try. Very disappointed.

I have always wanted to go inside this really cool, unique looking building on the south east corner of lakemead and buffalo. It is so cute. It looks 2 story but it is only one which is great for ADA. Its clean, the tables, bathroom and bar all were. It looks a little rough around the edges but that is intentional a d part of the apeal. The inside is fun and themed fantastically. The staff were friendly and Helpful to a first timer. They have tables to eat at if you dont want to gamble or you can sit at the bar. My servers were Teresa, Nickki and Christy. All very nice ladies and made me comfortable and made me laugh. I ordered a Philly, I couldnt decide between that or the French Dip Sandwich but I finally settled on the Philly becouse I think ppl can get very critical of them. I thought it was great, at 17.00, maybe a dollar or 2 more then I would charge, however the service and the taste definitely make up for it. Unfortunately they do not offer military discount, if they did even 10% I would be back every week! It has ample parking. Worth leaving the strip for but it is definitely a neighborhood bar. They have the Games on. They have a lot of patriot fans but They are a cowboys bar. If you want a break from a busy day and want good, laid back vibes head over to Charlies 100% recommended!

Biscuits and gravy... Thought the biscuits should have been fluffier. I was wrong .. it worked!!

I thought I was going to be disappointed in the biscuits and gravy I got, by the look of them... They were actually pretty darn great!

First time here. Stopped in for a quick lunch. Had chicken fingers and cheese and broccoli soup - both were good. Services excellent. Very quiet at 2:30-3:00.

Tried for the first time with a friend & it was great! Food came out quick within 15-20 min. Had the jalapeño burger & it was delicious. Got margaritas on the rocks with salt which were decent too! Staff was friendly! Enjoyed playing some deuces wild in between eating & drinking. I would definitely go back!

Came here with some coworkers one morning after work for breakfast. I'm glad I ordered the small stack of pancake cause they are huge, fluffy and filling! Service was friendly and fantastic. They knew how to keep the humor going after working 12 hours and just let us rant for a bit. Sorry we did get kind of loud. Overall, a good atmosphere to grab a bite to eat.

This may look upside down but hey...it's, Charles Down under. Lol....So yeah...I forgot to take a pic b4 I woofed em down. Sorry. ‍

Always open and always have great food with some awesome people. Brian was the bartender tonight. A Friendly guy who gave some great food suggestions. We ended up getting the Down under Sliders w/ garlic parmesan fries, and the loaded tater tots. The slider are so good! Served with brioche buns and grilled onions. The flavors are definitely working in conjunction with one another to bring you all the tasty goodness! The loaded tots...all the cheesy, baconey, tater tottery, deliciousness you can ask for. Loaded is an understatement. You will not be disappointed. Come see Brian or any of the other fine people who work here.

I am an active player sometimes I win, break even or lose however as of recently I've had issues getting my food and drink comped I almost always order from the player menu and many times I have to remind the bartender to take the discount off the bill. Today was the worst example of this I had 3 drinks within the space of 40 minutes or so with active play I just so happened to break even in this time and I had a meal from the players menu. The bartender Juan while friendly and attentive gave me a bill with no drinks comped and full price on the players menu when I asked him about this and tried to get the drinks taken off he told me it worked like every other bar that I had to play $1 or more a hand and lose $20 per drink but I broke even so they aren't comped. Well that's not how any other bar works in all my time playing at various bars including this one my drinks have been comped whether I win or lose and I've always played 1.25 a hand or more so this was perplexing that not a single drink I ordered was covered after almost an hour of continuous play. I eventually got him to at least give me the players discount but still paid for every single drink. Perhaps I had too many drinks within the time frame but I should have at least had one of them comped I've never run into a bar that doesn't comp drinks for play it's just so standard but if this is the new policy of the Tavern I will find someplace else to gamble. Getting drinks comped is the bare minimum of a gaming bar if their policy has changed it is no longer worth it to visit and I would recommend any of the many competitors to this bar just for this factor alone. I'm assuming it is the bartenders discretion in which case I've never had an issue with Ted this is my first time seeing the other bartender Juan I will not be returning when he is there.

I've been a fan of Aces & Ales since the original location at Nellis. They are remarkable for…read morestanding their ground and not selling out to Big Beer. Hence, the entire draft selection at all of their locations consists of craft beers made by independent breweries. The centerpiece of this location at Tenaya is the impressive selection of 50 rotating craft beers on tap. This includes plenty of strong beers for hardcore craft beer enthusiasts like myself. Now, it also includes beers made by the newest location in their family, Evolve Brewing. The size of the location is also impressive. It is divided into a gaming tavern (with ashtrays and video poker machines on the bar), beerhall sports bar, outdoor patio, and private event space. To me, the most unique item on their food menu--and its claim to fame--is the Eddie Spaghetti pizza. As Aces & Ales has evolved--no pun intended--the business has placed more emphasis on its food menu. Historically, their kitchen was secondary to their draft selection. Now, the business wants to be a restaurant first, and taproom second. Upon being seated, you are handed oversize food menus with heavy lamination (as done at their Evolve Brewing location at The Bend). These overshadow the single beer menu provided separately on a smaller sheet of paper. The server is trained to use scripted language to further induce you to order food. In other words, it's not the kind of place you can come for a beer without being expected to order food. Though, that is what the name of the business implies. I'm okay with the concept of the restaurant being primary, and the craft beers secondary. As long as this is reflected in the business name. For example, why not call it, "Aces & Ales Tavern, Restaurant & Taproom"? Similarly, "Evolve Restaurant & Brewery"? Another surprise during my most recent visit came after paying my bill by credit card. The server returned with a receipt that included a 2.99% "credit card surcharge." First of all, why is it not rounded to the 3% that it really is? Secondly, this is not a typical fee charged by restaurants. Therefore, shouldn't it be disclosed to customers before accepting their credit card? Furthermore, does this lack of transparency have the potential to discourage repeat business? Or, more frequent business from regular customers?
