I was excited to see this new Charlie's go in and it was one of the very first places I went when I got back to the area. A five chunk dinner was over $11! I can't believe how expensive Charlie's has gotten. It's truly sad. To make it worse, the chicken I had was by far the worst quality chick I have ever had from Charlie's. I'll try it again but I sure hope they don't disappoint me a second time.

My family and I ordered $55 worth of food, two chicken sandwiches, 2 Mac n cheese kids meals (that was not actually a meal and did not include sides nor drinks). The sandwiches were sad and the quality was about the standard of McD's. The kids Mac n cheese were basically kraft mac n cheese with chopped up nuggets on top and a very minimal sprinkle of bacon on top. The whole thing was honestly dissatisfying. The part that bothered me the most was that after paying $55 for this, we didn't even get a sauce to dip our fries in, that was an extra cost. And the lemonade in which we paid over $3 for and was advertised as "freshly squeezed" was most certainly not. Over all, I can say we won't come back here for the food.

I don't expect much when I go there, kinda like going to McDonald's, except I do expect good tasting chicken. Say what you will but KFC chicken is pretty good, especially their original recipe. I had the 3-piece meal that came with mashed potatoes and gravy and a biscuit. I asked for all-dark so I got two thighs and a drum, original recipe. The chicken was freshly cooked, done, and very tasty! My side was okay for whatever it's worth, and the biscuit wasn't hot and buttery (but I'm not a big biscuit guy either). I went in to order and carry out and was helped by "Sam" who was one of the more friendly counter helpers that I have experienced. Thanks, Sam! People, remember, it's KFC. They do chicken right. Don't expect much more from them. Overall value isn't too bad when you look at it that way.
