I've been debating to do this because we live in Enumclaw & the places to eat out are starting to dwindle. I came on 05/19 got the buckaroo & got food poisoning I should of known when the gravy was very cold. They also charged for a single slice of French toast with blueberries almost $10 which I asked for the cakes but got the $10 single slice of French toast didn't make it a big deal. The food poisoning was a big deal.Sadly after my last visit I do not think we will ever come back it might be concerning for their health standards & pricing. read more

Terrible service just don't go... went this morning for breakfast, waitress told us, after 15 minutes of waiting, my husband going up to register and asking to place our order, that she has other tables and would get to us in a few minutes, that was the 2nd time we were told this. There were plenty of staff there and it should not take over 15 minutes to simply place an order. Staff was rude and we will not be back. Unless you have excessive time to hang out at Charlie's waiting to place an order, I would say do not go. read more

I've lived in Enumclaw for about 18 months. In that time I've tried various places and many friends that live nearby didn't have positive things to say here. I decided to try it and get my own take. I honestly was very happy with my meal and experience. Maribel and the other girls here were very attentive, the food was very fast, and all the ingredients tasted very fresh. I also decided to order a single pancake to see how that turned out. It was alittle expensive but turns out was about 12" and tasted very good. I gotta be honest, I don't know if my friends just had a one off, or if there have been changes. I know I'll be coming back. Good Job Charlie's Update 7/22/18 went in and they were suuuuuuper busy. They do some things a bit differently here I noticed. There's a core 1 or 2 gals that take orders and the rest of them are making sure there's plenty of care. I did some breakfast this time and even though they were very busy ( only 2 open tables and an hour before closing) the food came and it tasted great! Is this a poster child for gormet breakfasts? No. Did it taste as good as home made in grandmas kitchen, YES. So, I see why they are busy much of the time, and what they do works. I plan to continue to go back and sampling around the menu. My family and I stopped at this small cafe after our family vacation driving on the cold day. We have never been to a place like this before. After walking in we were greeted by the kind waitress at Charlie's Cafe. I noticed that after sitting down i got extremely confused. I wasn't sure where I was! Let me explain. The temperature of the restaurant was 40 degrees, the same as the arctic! We also ate next to a bunch of handmade junk all over the walls that really interrupted my meal. I enjoyed my meal but unfortunately I burned all of the calories I consumed due to the shivering the entire duration of the meal. I entered the bathroom and then after I finished, it said on the back of the door "please prop our door open to circulate our heat". I was really then grossed out because the heat of the restaurant seems to be coming from the bathroom. I give this establishment a 3 out of 5 stars. read more

Almost the last place before entering 410 towards Rainier. Great american breakfast, the Eggs Benedict were good (fried instead poached) and the staff was really friendly. They've taken a lot of precautions to open after the Covid closures, I was well impressed by the way the seat everyone and the creativity on the digital menus and on the windows too. read more

Charlie's is a real embodiment of the mom and pop small town cafe. The true test of such a place being their breakfast which they do superbly. Charlie's staff is always pleasant and I am never disappointed with the food. Bacon is nice an thick cut and cooked with right balance of crisp and pull, gravy has good flavor and consistency. They pull it all off. I know the kettle gets a lot of local loyalty and it is beyond me as their food all tastes like is from an old people's home it is so bland and unseasoned. If you haven't given Charlie's a try I recommend it you won't be able to go back to that other place. read more

My husband and went to Charlie's yesterday. I thought the old time decor was charming. I had the chicken fried steak and I was very pleased. I've been trying to find the best chicken fried steak since moving to Maple Valley. This place has the best around! The sausage gravy is hands down the best I've had! The portions are gigantic and the service was fast and friendly. My husband wasn't keen on his omelette however, so I'm not giving 5 stars. Little hole in the wall in Enumclaw. Great customer service, you can tell a lot of the people are regulars. They serve breakfast all day, which is my kind of place! The food wasn't to die for, but it was good comfort food since we were coming down from the mountain. My son loved the kids burger. The gravy I got on my biscuits was delicious and you could tell it was homemade. The only reason I didn't give them 4 stars is because it was freezing cold in there while we were eating. At the very least they could have said something to me when they handed me the big paper sack with a smile on their face. There omelette game is on they can make 3 eggs feel like 4 or 5 and you have to love they offer gravy on there hash browns for 2.50 more I thought I was being cheated when I notice no bacon or sausage with the meal so I orders a side of bacon but was I wrong the omelette had enough filling to make it where I only ate half and I am a big boy Coffee was fresh and strong and my cup never was less then half full The side of bacon was thick thick cut bacon and 4 slices so that was on point also the reason for 4 stars was there was a little wait for the check and we were never given waters right off the bat I had to ask for one but other then that the plac is perfect read more

HOLY NUTS! This place was amazing. We just happened to run into it on our way to North Cascades. We got the cow pie (we did half and it was still huge) and the redneck Benedict. The French toast was amazing as well as the fries (get the ranch!!) The Reuben sandwich was very good as well. Wish I lived here because I'd be coming here a lot! 10/10 must go. read more

Quite honestly, we've driven by here a thousand times, and have never stopped in. Why? Not sure; we have our usual favorites in this town, and never had a reason to change. With the new Governor edict, take-out is the thing, and for me, burgers are a hard thing to get as take-out well. I like the dripping, juicy burgers, best served up on a ceramic plate. This time, however, we just couldn't find a decent burger place on our route, so we decided to give Charlie's a chance. We called in our order, and they were very courteous on the phone. Stopping in 20 minutes later, our order was hot & ready to go. We headed off up 410 toward our usual haunt, to hang out for the afternoon, but the delicious odor of those burgers was getting to us, so we stopped at the first pullout and dove in. Oh, man - so good! I ordered the Sasquatch burger, and the sauce was done perfectly! The grilled onions were amazing, and all of the toppings were crisp & delicious. Often, lettuce is the first casualty of take-out burgers, but they had wrapped the toppings separately, so it went together perfectly. The fries were really good as well. I'll definitely be back to try out their brunch sometime; now, my trip over Chinook Pass is book-ended by two of my favorite spots - Charlie's Cafe and the Gold Creek Saloon! read more

Giving this place less than 5 stars is surprising Service is TOP of the line they understand a mom wanting to get her kids food ordered first and don't scoff at the idea. My two year old was on one on our last visit throwing crayons servers would grab the ones I miss and put on the table without a second thought For being so busy it is so clean! Came in for lunch while working nearby. Great atmosphere, fun decor, cheery staff. Fantastic menu; breakfast served "all day" (they're open until 2pm) Placed our orders and then the power went out. No lights, no grill, no registers. The staff handled themselves professionally and well in a crisis. Explained the situation, gave us time to change our order (or get our checks), explained the checkout procedures, kept our glasses filled. Served our dishes and kept us informed all along. This is one of my favorite places in Enumclaw. Everything about this place feels like you belong here. Sitting in the atmosphere of a space similar to mom's kitchen listening to to chatter of cooking, dishes and conversation. The kids love it here. I've been coming to this place for over 20 years and have always had great service, until today. The food was great as always but we were not once checked on the entire time we were there. Every single table was asked at least twice if they wanted more coffee or to ask how our food was but we were not asked once. My girlfriend and I are avid bikers (motorcycle) and one of our favorite things to do while riding is try out the local 'hometown' restaurants. Charlie's has that look...especially inside. Coffee mugs hanging from the ceiling, home made quilts about...perfect! Not so much...the 'home-made' chicken fried steak was anything but. This was a 'restored' frozen, cheap-o chicken patty covered with canned pre-made sausage gravy. The hashbrowns were also frozen. Nothing about this meal was home-made and the quality way far less than average. We will not return. Nice people though! read more
