About a year ago I was in a small crash and had a body shop on the south side of town do the repairs. They called when the car was ready and said that it wouldn't run. Frustrated, I knew there was what supposed to be a reputable VW TDI guru nearby, so I had the car towed to them for repairs. Seven plus months and myriad excuses later, they'd done nothing to get the car back on the road. It was an awful experience. Finally it dawned on me that I had previously had a great experience at Das European, so I had the car towed again to the team here for repairs. I was very frustrated at the inability to just get the car fixed. because I had spent about $8,000 having a lot of work done to keep the car going, I was worried I wouldn't be able to get her fixed up and back on the road. Christian and team came to the rescue. They fixed the issues on the car and more all in one weeks time. I couldn't be more thankful for the work these guys did, and more importantly that they understand how much I love the car and how hard they worked to help me keep it running. In my experience, important information was not clearly communicated to me before I made decisions about repairs. I later learned information that absolutely would have affected what I chose to do. I understand that vehicles can have multiple issues and that a repair shop can't predict everything. My concern is with transparency and communication. Not giving a customer all of the information available so they can make an informed decision about repairs feels like sketchy business to me. Unfortunately, the experience left me without confidence in the shop, and I won't be returning and if you are considering going think again.

I had my check…read moreengine light pop on, stopped by Auto Zone to have it scanned and it told me the issue was my VVT Solenoid. This was for a 2016 Santa Fe Limited. I called Hyundai, 3 week wait just to get an analysis, a couple other places gave me 5-7 days before they could analyze it and told me it would be north of $400 to fix (minimum). Then I talked to Tyler at Christian Brothers. He was willing to set up a time to check out the SUV but he also asked me a couple questions. He told me the Hyundai was known to be an internal oil burner and asked when I had my last oil change. Ironically, it was a little overdue but no warnings or anything. He said if it was a little low it could set off that solenoid issue and he advised me to get a good oil change, drive the vehicle a couple of days and see if it resets itself. If not, they would be happy to look at it. Guess what? He was 100% accurate. I changed the oil, the check engine light went off. I even had the vehicle scanned again to check and there was no code error. Imagine that, a company giving sound advice to help you and not keeping their knowledge for profit. Thanks Tyler for being inquisitive, helpful and saving me an expense that would have been unnecessary. That customer care alone made me a loyal customer.

Dropped my car off with a specific request to find the source of a noise and fix that issue. They…read moremisdiagnosed and told me the noise wasn't a safety concern and if we could live with it then that is what they suggested. AC was making a sound when turned the AC on and off. They said I needed to fix several other issues, which we did. We try our best to keep up with maintenance as needed. When we went to pick it later that day, they then said they found the source of the noise we were originally supposed to find and it needs to be fixed. So I spent $800 on things that would need to be done in the future but weren't pertinent at the time. So now I need to come back or go somewhere else and fix the original issue. Which is a problem with the cooling fans and must be done. It felt like we were scammed and we talked about the original issue several times and they played dumb acting like they couldn't find the problem until we showed up after spending $800 of added work that could've been done later. I could've used that $800 to fix the real issue and do the other stuff later. They just lost out on the opportunity to be my mechanic as we just moved up here and that I would use for years to come. Hope the $800 was worth the $10k or probably more yall will miss out on over the next decade. I wish I could find a great mechanic that was honest and not feel like I'm at the hospital and they are just running up the bill with all the tests and visits from numerous doctors and nurses. I can't say I would recommend this place. Sure they fixed some issues but not the real issue and now want us to come back and fix the real problem with more money. This made no sense: the car is parked daily in our garage with zero oil spots, and two separate mechanics--one who did the brakes yesterday and Discount Tire right before this visit--both confirmed there were no leaks. To make matters worse, they quoted a non-OEM replacement cap at a 500% markup over retail. Whether the damage occurred while in their care or not, it strongly feels like they use steep parts markups to recover the cost of cheap promotional oil changes. The entire experience felt dishonest. While no business should operate like this, it is even more concerning doing so while bearing "Christian" in its name. I will not be returning.
