. I'm not a 16 year old boy who wants the whole world to hear me coming, so I asked for a STOCK MUFFLER for my 1991 Honda. It's not rocket science, but Charley's installed the WRONG MUFFLER. I've owned five Honda's of the same vintage and know how they're supposed to sound when stock. I went back to voice my concerns and was ASSURED that the muffler they installed was the right model for my vehicle, and their solution was to install a "silencer" for an extra $180. I knew they were full of crap, but in desperation to have a normal sounding vehicle I went with it. It was STILL loud after that, and upon inspection by someone else WHO CONFIRMED THE PART NUMBER WAS WRONG for my vehicle, I had the proper stock muffler installed elsewhere. Just because you're the only muffler shop in town doesn't give you the right to scam people. read more

Late post... Last year I went to get a Flowmaster muffler installed in my truck at Charley's mufflers.They finished the job quick and I was on my way. When I was driving home the muffler sounded different than what I've heard a flowmaster muffler(same muffler I purchased) on the same truck as mine. I got home went underneath my truck and saw that the paint on the muffler was chipping and there wasn't a flowmaster stamp anywhere. I thought that was odd so I called Flowmaster and they said all of there mufflers have Flowmaster stamped on them and that if it didn't it isn't one of there mufflers. So I called charley and explained the situation he said the muffler they put on was just like a flowmaster. That wasn't what I paid for so I went back and they installed the muffler I paid for. There service was great but installing a muffler that isn't what I paid for is bad business. I won't say don't go and get your services done there but I would double check on what they install on your vehicle. read more

Our Catalytic Converter was stolen off our Motorhome. What began as a bad experience was improved by the Great service and personable staff at this Family owned and operated shop. They weren't to busy on Monday morning and were able to discus options and give me a quote right away. I choose what I wanted fixed at this time to get back on the road and they got right to it. They did a nice repair job, including replacing a couple other bolts on the exhaust we hadn't noticed before the quote and only charged me exactly what they said. I had the catalytic converter stolen off my car, ordered a new on from Honda because it has to be a Honda part. Charlie's found that the oxygen sensor was also gone, called around and gave me options if I wanted them to install a new one. All was done in about two hours, only because we had to wait for the oxygen sensor. Charlie's will be my go to place for any muffler needs. I was having difficulty aligning my cat-back exhaust, especially with the Y piping. I pulled into Charley's, told them I am leaving town tomorrow, and they were able to install my entire cat back exhaust with perfect alignment in about 20-30 minutes. The aftermarket exhaust unfortunately was one of the worst fitting they had seen in awhile. The price was extremely reasonable and they literally saved me from moving with my exhaust system in my trunk! I wish I had taken my exhaust there for instillation from the get go. I've built many hot rod projects in my life but I wanted to share that the exhaust they put in ( pipe & pipe ) with my parts no less was so overpriced versus the crappy quality of welding, layout. Because I got it back there in right about 2 hours they were ready for me, put this up where they could see the problem, no guess work, they knew! These guys were awesome. We ran over a rock and crack our oil pan.I called around and they said if the pan was steel they could weld the crack for a really reasonable price. We had the car towed there and discovered that the pan was aluminum and they couldn't do the welding job. The owner's son David said he could help us find a place to do the aluminum weld and he could also come to our house and take the pan off and prep it before welding. I was shocked someone could be so helpful and affordable. David saved us a lot of money and possible grief. Supposedly this is a long time family owned business that won't rip you off. I have nothing but good things to say about Charley's. read more

I couldn't believe how rude these guys were, especially the walking corpse of an old man with the snotty attitude. It was like I was wasting their precious time by trying to get my finances in order to make sure I could afford his overpriced service. But my review isn't about their character, it's about how they did on my vehicle. After all was said and done, work was done. I'm driving a few days later and I hear this awful sound, I take it to a shop actually worth a damn, and the men literally laughed at how poor quality the work on my car was, the welds were spotty to begin with, and apparently had just broken because they weren't done correctly. In his words "Never let the guy who did this near a welder and your car again... it's a miracle he knew how to turn the thing on." Never going back to this trash heap again. read more

Kind and professional, they put a 40 series flowmaster on my jeep within an hour. Did some good welds and they even salvaged my Corsa cat-back pipes as I requested. If i could give zero stars i would, I went in for a exhaust leak and a simple pipe bend due to my car being low and scraping. At first for the exhaust leak he wanted $180 & I already that was a rip off but i had no other choice due to a long road trip the next day, so I go in and he tells me he can go ahead and bend my exhaust for a additional $100 like what the hell. He charged me $280 for a job that should've cost no more than $110. Then at the register I'm about to pay with my card and he tells me its gonna be a little charge for the card like usual at any shop so I'm expecting only a $1-2 charge and on the receipt it said $280 so nothing unusual but today i just checked my bank statement and he charged me $10 to use my card !!! DONT GO THERE!! If you're able to go ANYWHEREEE even if its at Palm Springs then go there. This guy will rip you off so much, he ripped me off and he knew I'm a car guy. I cant even imagine how bad he rips off people who don't know anything about cars. (Again I had no other choice, it was late in the day so i had to come here but avoid at all cost!!!!!) read more
