The food lacked flavor across the board. The rice was cold, the beans tasted like they came straight from a can, and the tamale was bland even after adding hot sauce. The gordita was especially disappointing, it had very little meat inside, and the masa tasted store bought rather than homemade. For a Mexican restaurant, I expected much more flavor and freshness. With so many great Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood, there are plenty of better options to choose from. Based on my experience, I'd recommend spending your money elsewhere. I ordered two half trays each of their Greek potatoes and Greek rice, along with pita and tzatziki sauce. Everything was ready right on time and tasted incredibly fresh. The Greek potatoes were moist, tender, and packed with flavor, and the rice was fluffy and delicious. Most importantly, everyone loved the food. My only regret was ordering half trays instead of full trays because it disappeared fast! Fantastic food, great service, and they really helped me out in a pinch. Easy 5 stars. I'll definitely be going back to Squabs Gyros!

He quickly confirmed that the driver had delivered the order to the wrong address. Not only was he professional and sincere in his apology, but he also went above and beyond by offering to remake the entire order and personally deliver it to my home. That level of customer service is rare and truly appreciated. The food was great, but the outstanding customer service is what really earned my loyalty. I will definitely be a repeat customer and highly recommend this restaurant!

So, imagine my surprise when I found out they had a restaurant on Irving Park Road in Wooddale - and I would occasionally pass it going to and from work! Well, it was time to try it for lunch today. There wasn't a big line of people, but boy did the food smell like barbecue when I walked in! I quickly ordered the two meat combo with chopped brisket and pulled pork. I got the green chili, Mac and cheese as a side, as well as the classic coleslaw. All right - the ambience was just perfect for a small barbecue place. The food came quickly, but I noted it wasn't quite right. I had asked for chopped brisket not sliced brisket. Not a crime against humanity, true, but still I didn't complain and I decided to go ahead and eat it anyway. So how was it? Well, I slathered on sweet rays barbecue sauce, and ate like crazy. The meat was pretty darn good! The green chili mac & cheese was delicious- can't say that the coleslaw was to my taste, but there was nothing wrong with it. The cornbread was fantastic. The only reason for the demerit? Was that I ordered chopped brisket and got sliced. Will I come here again? Yes, yes I think I shall! And I think you should try it too if you like barbecue.
