But with this brand-new location opening in our area (along with all the buzz, protests, and controversy that came with it), I figured it deserved a fair try. I opted for the drive-thru on a very chilly morning. They offer both walk-up and drive-thru, but the cold made the choice easy. The team members taking orders outside were clearly new and still finding their footing, and I genuinely appreciated how hard they were trying. The young man who took my order had a trainer nearby, and you could tell he was a bit nervous -- but he was doing his best. Same for the young woman who handed me my food on the pickup side. I tip my hat both of them. And the food? Excellent. Whatever else people may say about the brand, Chick-fil-A has always prided itself on quality -- and it shows. Everything was fresh, hot, and prepared just right. I may not stop in often because of the higher price point, but I get it. Quality costs more, and you can taste the difference. But the biggest shout-out goes to the back-of-house crew. It must have been right at that crossover between breakfast winding down and lunch gearing up -- which, in any fast-food place, is its own special kind of stress. And in a brand-new store during opening week? Multiply that pressure by ten. I worked in fast food back in my college days, so I have a pretty good sense of what's happening behind that swinging door: the constant rush, the tight choreography, the pressure to keep every station moving while also learning new systems on the fly. Those back-of-house workers are doing some of the most important jobs in the building, and yet they're often the ones who get the least recognition. While the front-of-house team interacts with customers, the kitchen crew is back there hustling -- cooking food properly, assembling orders, keeping the place clean, restocking, troubleshooting equipment, and shifting between meal services. It's demanding work on the best day, and even harder when everything is still new. We don't see those folks, but they're the heartbeat of the operation. Without them, nothing works. And speaking as someone who has family working in the industry, I sincerely hope management recognizes how hard their back-of-house crew is working during these early weeks. A little patience and well-earned appreciation can make all the difference -- especially for the team members carrying the heaviest load. So to the team behind the scenes -- thank you. My hat goes off to you. And yes, I'll definitely be back.

The service is good, I can tell they're still getting used to things. My issue is the taste of the food compared to what I'm used to. Every time something was forgotten from the order, even something as simple as straws it was frustrating after driving away. The fries always seem to be room temperature like they've been sitting. The last time I even had a completely undercooked one. The nuggets taste good. Everything is clean and nice. I'm hoping this isn't how it's going to be at this location.

I visited…read morerecently for a special event and was charmed at the location on the water, at the whimsical decor, and the social media-ready presentation of the food. I never knew about the canal district of Detroit, but the vibe feels like a vacation in Florida instead of the middle of the Midwest. Coriander ups that vacation vibe with bright paint, plenty of outdoor seating, and beautiful decor. All of our food tastes so fresh, and I loved the additions of things like edible flowers on the yogurt that we had with our parfaits. Service was appropriately attentive for a large group, and it never felt intrusive into our private event. I'll look forward to coming back sometime soon for another afternoon that feels miles away from everyday life!

I Went around noon on a Saturday and a parking spot was a challenge. I ordered a burger( not shown) it lacked flavor but I made it do. I also had a honey lavender tea that was soooooo good! Pictured is a hibiscus mocktail offered and very refreshing. Give it a try. The menu changes ;) I'm waitress was a delightful treat on a Saturday afternoon she managed the entire bar area with great service. Reservations are encouraged even for bar area.

I personally prefer the boneless wings here, but the bone-in wings are good, as well. I have tried more than half of the sauces and rubs currently on the menu. The cajun dry rub and garlic parmesan are easily my two favorite. The new creamy dill pickle sauce is a solid option, too. According to a member of the staff, the sauce's contents are a secret. There are also a couple lemonades on the menu that are quite refreshing. The flavors are blue raspberry and strawberry. Of these, I prefer the blue raspberry, but I like both. The fries here are above average. I recommend adding a dry rub of your choice to the fries. Dill pickle rub is a new option, and it comes with a side of the creamy sauce for dipping. The chicken on the sandwich can be sauced or tossed with any of the options available for the wings. When the sandwiches were first introduced, there were only two options, so this is a notable change. Speaking of changes, I'm hoping my influence has some pull here. The teriyaki sauce, Carolina gold BBQ sauce, poutine, and honey butter hot chicken sandwich were all legitimately excellent, but are no longer on the menu. The poutine was taken off the menu due to a new set up all the kitchens have, but I'm at least hoping the sauces can be brought back. Regardless, DWC is my go-to spot for wings, especially for a big game. Make sure to check out the game day deals to get the best bang for your buck!
