    Chicken 65 sandwich

I finally decided to stop by Ali's after hearing good things for awhile. I wasn't feeling pizza, though their menu looked interesting. Went with the chicken 65 sandwich, and some chicken shawarma fries. The fries were very rich and delicious, and the portion was great for the price. The sandwich was fantastic. The bun was soft and fluffy, while still keeping it together. The chicken had the perfect amount of heat, and was tender and juicy. The service was great as well. They were friendly and professional. Ill definitely be coming back for these items, and likely try others on their menu.

So another pizza place in Hamtramck, excited? You should be. The place looks very simple from outside. Nothing fancy or extravagant but the pizza is yummy. The gentleman in the counter (naheed) is an amazing dude. Very easy to talk to and he recommends according to your liking. I got the deep dish chicken bar-b-q and i dont remember the other one but man o man. Everything was fresh the crust was thick and soft and the toppings very good in quantity. My only reservation is the oil. I am not sure if it was done by mistake or thats how he cooks but it had more oil than usual. Other than that everything rocked. Good job guys

The pizza shows up looking amazing and somehow tastes even better. Classic Detroit-style crust with crispy edges, light and airy inside, and bold, well-balanced toppings. It's gourmet, original, and just flat-out better than anything else I've had in the city. What really stands out is how well it travels. The pizza arrives hot, intact, and exactly how it should be, which is not easy to pull off with Detroit-style pizza. You can tell they care about quality all the way through, not just when it leaves the kitchen. Delivery is always smooth, and the overall experience has been great every time. I honestly can't say enough good things. If you want the best Detroit-style pizza around, Michigan & Trumbull is it.

Although I may come back again to try a different pizza to judge that portion of this establishment better since it didn't feel any different to me from other chain restaurants I've tried so not sure what's the hype about. Seating is limited, service is bad. They open at 12pm on a Sunday and I had called at 12.05 to check if they have a waiting , they first refused to put us on wait list on the phone which is ok, next they mention (at 12.05pm) they already had a waiting of 45 min. While we did place the order on the phone to pick up in 20-25 min, when we arrived we did find a couple seats empty and for some reason they were discouraging us to get a seat when we had mentioned multiple times that we would like to dine in and only take togo if there is a long waiting. There were people waiting outside on the picnic style tables they have which they call "outdoor seating". They were not waiting to be seated as well and just waiting for their pizza to go when we asked. While taking the pizza we asked if we can get some water they refused they don't have water for to go! I already had placed a cola for togo so it was hard to imagine that they have colas but no water?!?!? Service is exceptionally bad for our experience and this will highly discourage us to even try this place again anytime soon

I don't know what this man's intentions were, but he could've came up to me and just simply asked "are you doing okay? is there anything i can do for you?" instead of scooping me out as if i was getting ready to commit a crime. as I spend more time being back in my home in Detroit, i'm just not understanding why it's too difficult to receive decent and humane customer service. i'm just in complete concern & dismay due to this experience, do so much better.

I got that thinking I'd take the rest home. I got the spicy pepperoni which comes with pepperoni, banana peppers, ricotta, Mike's Hot Honey and oregano. Nice selection of drinks if you do partake in beverages. Pizza was absolutely amazing. The crust, sauce, cheese and toppings came together well. Did I have some to take home? No. That could have been easily shared with 1-2 others too. Solid place. No idea what to compare to, but enjoyable.

Would come back, especially for that. The vibe was lovely and fun on a Saturday night. We started with the burrata, which was excellent. It wasn't just a basic arugula and burrata situation, it was well seasoned with a really nice olive oil, lemon, and balsamic combination that made it feel elevated. It also came with baguette slices, but those are made with their pizza dough (which contains eggs). Once we mentioned my egg intolerance, our server was incredibly kind and checked with the kitchen, and they were able to make alternative slices using their gluten-free dough. Really appreciated that extra effort. The Grandma's Pizza (we did it on the gluten-free crust because of the egg) was pretty good. The crust itself was solid, especially for gluten-free. The toppings leaned heavier on the cheese than the sauce, and I didn't love the cheese as much, but it was still an enjoyable dish overall. Service really stood out -- everyone we interacted with at the bar was friendly, attentive, and accommodating.

The atmosphere definitely feels more contemporary compared to the original, and I appreciate how they've given it its own personality while still keeping that classic Buddy's quality. The food has been consistently good every time I've gone -- you really can't go wrong here. That said, I still prefer the original location. There's just something special about Buddy's Rendezvous -- the history, the character, the authentic feel. There's nothing like the original. It wasn't even the food because the pizza was okay. The service really didn't hit it off for me at all though. It was a late night and it was about to be closing time in the next hour from when I was sitting down but I only sat at the bar just to grab a bite. I didn't even want any drinks. We sat down and we waited for water for a while and then it took a while to get our order taken, which was already inconvenient. I could see that we were the inconvenience because the bartender was already cleaning up so we weren't getting as much attention as we could have gotten. Even though we didn't really want anything except to put in an order for food. The bartender acted like we were stopping him from working to close the bar, which I can understand. At the same time you're not supposed to let your customers know that you feel a way about them sitting down. The food came super late as well so that also was not really a good experience. It shouldn't take 30 minutes to get one pizza pie out of the oven especially when it's an empty restaurant, just about because everybody's about to leave so there wasn't a crowd. The only thing that I give 3 stars as a par for is just because the pizza was pretty good but for everything else I wasn't super pleased last time I was at home. It was opening day weekend the last time I was there and I am sure that everybody was taking a beating because downtown was so lively but at the same time you never let your customers know.
