This place is unreal. Too beautiful for this world…read more First off the food is awesome. I've eaten at a number of shawarma spots in Hamtramck and Boostan is the best hands down. Chicken cream chops sandwich has a strange name but is excellent--much creamier than a regular shawarma sandwich. The Boostan shawarma is amazing; straightforward but excellent. On top of that it is cheap--maybe the cheapest in Hamtramck. How much is the best shawarma wrap in Hamtown? SIX. DOLLARS! They are so generous with their portions as well, including the non-sandwich dishes. The staff are super friendly as well. Just don't come here expecting a nice place to eat. Get your feed and head to a nearby park.

Delicious food and well portioned!!…read more Everything we ordered was absolutely delectable! Juicy meats, well flavored. We got shawarma wraps, a shawarma combination plate and a kebab plate. Every one was a hit. The tabbouli salad was not our favorite but other than that.. chefs kiss! We also got some baklava for dessert which came in two different shapes and both were a nice treat to end the meal.

I've been coming to this spot since around 2006, and it used to be one of my absolute favorites…read more It's still fairly good, but over time I've noticed a shift in the overall experience as longtime staff has aged out and newer, younger staff has come in. They recently renovated the interior, and I do really like the update--using lighter colors has brightened the space and made it feel more modern. Unfortunately, a recent experience seriously impacted my opinion. I called to place a takeout order for about five people from my workplace, and the young man who answered the phone--Adrian--was extremely rude. He seemed impatient from the start, and by the time I was giving the third order, he began huffing and puffing, talking over me, and rushing me. Before I could even finish, he hung up on me. His coworkers were saying his name in the background, which is how I learned who he was. Adrian's behavior showed a complete lack of basic customer service and professionalism, and it did not represent Maine Street well at all. If answering phones and taking orders is part of the job, then patience and respect should be a given. Adrian needs serious improvement in customer service, because that interaction alone was enough to make me reconsider ordering again. On a lighter note, this place has long been part of the fabric of Hamtramck, and that's why this experience was so disappointing. Hamtramck has always taken pride in its local spots, community, and hospitality, and I hope Maine Street gets back to reflecting the warmth and care that made so many of us loyal customers for years.

Can't believe I'm the first to review this truck, but I definitely won't be the last!…read more There was a steady flow of people coming and going, and now I know why. Everything we tried was on point. I'm super picky about my fuska, and this spot did not disappoint. It was so good I had to order a second round. We also got the beef bhuna jhal muri, and wow, they used the oil-fried muri, which is always the way to go. The flavors were bold, authentic, and exactly what you'd hope for if you're craving the true taste of Bangladesh. Parking is a little tight, but it's manageable. They have a few seats, or you can just chill in your car and eat. Note that you are not here for the ambiance, the food makes it worth everything. The staff were so kind and welcoming, you can tell they really care and know what they're doing. I've had Bangali snacks at other places in the area that missed the mark, but this truck nailed it. Definitely planning to come back a couple more times during our visit. Highly recommend!
