So he power washed around the screens, leaving a film of grime on most of the exterior window sills. After screens were removed for painting window sills, I pointed out the sills were dirty and asked they be cleaned before being painted. The guy says, sure, they'll do that. Then I watched the painters wipe off the dirt with a dirty rag, paint over whatever remained. You can see the dirt painted over on many of the sills. Lots of spots they missed because our siding has texture and the coverage just wasn't very good. Had to come back to fix. Still never really fixed it in spots. Carpentry work they did was just okay. You can see every trim board they replaced because they didn't try to sand it down or anything to blend it in with existing trim. 2 year warranty is also just okay, but I can see this paint job isn't going to last the 10 years the paint is warranted for because of the overall mediocre prep work and lack of attention to detail in actual painting. Wish I had spent a bit more on a crew that took pride in their work... these guys did not. Owner was very nice, but he was never there other than to give a quote and collect payment. Supervisor left on job barely spoke English and never really seemed to understand what I was telling him I was unhappy about. Owner said he did, but again, the directions never really seemed to change the painters' behavior. I wouldn't use them again.

We got floor tile for a master bathroom remodeling here. I made several trips to look at different…read moretiles. Many of the customers in the show room are interior designers who pull tiles to bring to customers to cut down on some of the overwhelming work of choosing tile. I ordered an additional box of floor tiles from Forever Tile as we unexpectedly needed a box to complete the job. Because the job was held up waiting for tiles, we double-ordered the extra tiles from a tile store in Westford and received them within a few days. By comparison, it took two to three weeks to get the box of tiles from Forever Tile and then only after I called to check on the order. The Westford store also charged much less for the tiles and had a much lower shipping charge. The owner referred me to Liberty Granite in Harvard, also owned by Forever Tile, for granite for the vanity counter. We chose a large granite remnant slab left after someone else's job. After making a template of the vanity, it took three weeks for Liberty Granite to fabricate it and come back to install it. Meanwhile the job waited and we could not install faucets to get the bath functioning. By comparison, our kitchen counter was made by another granite company and was fabricated and installed just one week after templating. The new bath vanity counter edge extends just .5 inch from the cabinet. We were very displeased as the standard counter extension is 1 inch as in our kitchen. The vanity counter thus seems a bit short and not generous, but the slab was already cut and there was no remedy. We also requested a half-bullnose edge on the counter, shower curb, and a bench. We were charged several hundred more for the bullnose edge which is a standard edge. The kicker is that at no time did Liberty Granite discuss the additional charge when we specified the edge. The owner of Forever Tile even sent me an iPhone photo of the final bill/balance due for the granite, but we insisted on a copy of the bill by mail to see it clearly. When working with Forever Tile and Liberty Granite we felt we were given the lowest possible priority and their attitude toward us was poor and extremely unprofessional. We will look at tile stores in Westford and Nashua for future remodeling.
