I have used Walton for two residential paving jobs in Newton, MA and had a great experience with them both times. Walton's bid for my latest driveway project, which involved using my architect's plans to widen my driveway, was competitive with the other bids I obtained. I needed to push out the start date of their work due to my contractor not being done yet with renovations, and they were fine with that. They honored their price from the season prior. When spring came, I got a call about a week prior for scheduling and they arrived when they said they would and did the work quickly and professionally. Once the project was over I did have to reach back out to them to be sure the permit was closed but they worked very quickly and had my permit closed within a week, giving me an email confirmation afterwards. Walton Paving is a awful company but not because of the workers they have. It's because the owner of the company Linda Walton runs a terrible operation. She doesn't stand by her work in anyway and when a problem arises she hides and will not respond. My driveway was paved on December 7, 2018 and by summer of 2019 it had completely come apart in many areas. When I began to notice it in springtime I immediately reached out to Linda and never heard back from her. She eventually after months responded and said she would come out and look at it but after her vacation. After not hearing from her again I reached out and was told someone came by and it was my fault because I turned the wheels on my cars. I was surprised she didn't personally come to site to meet with me. I frankly am not sure anyone actually came. I then contacted numerous other paving companies to try and fix the driveway that was deteriorating. Every single one of the companies took one look at driveway and said it was the result of doing the job too late in the year and in fact had nothing to do with car marks. It was simply too cold for pavement to cure. The end result was it cost me thousands of dollars to have the driveway fixed and salvaged through a process of infrared. I can strongly say don't hire Walton Paving. I was completely burned by Linda. Other reviewers seem to have had similar experiences with her bad attitude and lack of response. It's a shame because the workers who performed the work were all nice guys and professional. They just performed job too late in year. I am not upset about that. I am upset at the way Linda handled the situation because she knows exactly what caused this and didn't want to fix it. I have attached pictures so others can see the deteriorating driveway. I was completely new to the process of resurfacing our driveways and undertook a great deal of research and asked a lot of questions. Linda Walton came to my home a not only answered all my questions completely but gave me pointers as to other factors we should bear in mind as we made our choices. The date was postponed a couple of times which was not a problem for us but may have been for others. The work itself went smoothly, quickly and without a hitch. After the first heavy rain it became evident that one small area required regrading. W.R. Walton did a great job replacing my driveway. Had several companies come out for an estimate and felt Linda had the best explanantion of the process. Linda gave me estimate on the spot (didn't have to discuss how the price may flucuate at the office) and the price was fair. The work actually started early than the scheduled date as I requested if an earlier appointment became available. The job: they came in gang busters with a large crew and 4-6 trucks to complete the job in one day as promised. They hit a snag with an outdated electrical line from the street. This didn't deter the crew led by the owner Wayne. Wellesley electric got involved and worked with Walton to rectify the issue and the driveway was completed - same day!! The crew was very careful with my landscaping and my property overall. I could see how they worked well together as the owners are very engaged with this company and how the crew preforms. I always felt like I was in the hands of true pros as my property was overtaken by trucks and the crew. I would highly recommend Walton for any contracting work you may have. read more

Walton was the only company that needed more than 2 weeks to come out to look at my property, they were the only company that could not leave me a detailed quote while they were there (had to go back to office and send one later), and they were $3500 higher than the next highest quote. The owner, Linda, was rude while explaining the curing process of the driveway. I tried to contact her in regards to an issue I found with my driveway. It took her over two weeks to respond, and when she did she was rude. I don't usually write reviews, but she was just irritating. read more
