To the other parents who are having issues - FILE A COMPLAINT with your insurance provider and with the medical board for lack of access to care. Today (Thurs 1/8 - normal business day) was the 4th time within the last year that I was unable to make an appointment for my sick 2 year old because no one would pick up the phone, all day. I sent an email and waited on hold 9 different times for a total of 35 minutes, and no one ever picked up or called me back. No indication the office was closed. This is inexcusable when they're in the business of caring for sick infants and children (if you're closed, let us know so we can find other care?). You can see in my photo, the previous time a month ago I was on hold for 15 minutes before they hung up on me. Once or twice, I give them the benefit of the doubt but 4 time in a year! Business is too good that they don't need your business or care to answer phones anymore. We've changed doctors as of 3 hours ago.

There are some hand sanitizers available for patients to use. This place is opened with limited capacity. They are also sanitizing in between patients. They are only taking patients by appointment only. No walk ins. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: Lots of parking here in the back of this establishment. Just an FYI, Dr. Lam's office is located inside a massive medical plaza. Prepandemic, the parking lot would always be full and you would have to constantly circle the lot for a parking spot. The parking spots are decent. Not too big or too small. Staff: I loved coming here as a child. Dr. Lam was my pediatrician for 18 years. Now, I take my neighbor's children to see him because he is the best. He is very kind, patient, dedicated, passionate, loving, friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and compassionate. He has like over 40+ years of experience. He could retire because he is well over 65 years old, but he chose not to because he loves his job. Now that's dedication. Anyways, I would trust him with my future kids life. His receptionist, Angela, has been working there for more than 20+ years. She is kind, friendly, and laidback. I believe she used to be a nurse before working for Dr. Lam as his receptionist. Dr. Lam can speak English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

What's even worse, my child needed two vaccine shots, and instead of administering them properly, the doctor held two syringes in one hand and injected both at the same time into the same arm. My child was crying uncontrollably--it was heartbreaking. I'm not sure if this violates medical guidelines, but I don't believe this is how a pediatrician should treat a young patient. For example if you have an emergency and can't make it to your appointment, and you are running out of meds, they will not even write a short refills so that you can be covered until your next appointment. They would rather you fall off the wagon with all of your medications. Even if the doctor cancels on you because they are out sick, no one in the clinic will write you a refill until the doctor can see you again, even though it is not your fault. So if you need a clinic to be more flexible to your needs then seek care elsewhere.
