The space is split into two sections front and back with the bar/ vip section. It wasn't as busy when I arrived but nonetheless the vibes were great. The music wasn't too loud that you cannot maintain a conversation. They have the regular shisha flavours like double apple, mint etc. They also have other special flavours like island breeze which cost $32/shisha. They do charge for extra coal, the shisha comes well prepared and ready to be smoked. It was a smooth, flavourful & enjoyable experience. Now one thing I have to note, their menus is fixed, you cannot convince them to make any altercation to any item on the list nor request items (drinks) which aren't on the menu. That leads me to my next point, you cannot order sides unless you order a main. I personally don't understand why. One may not necessarily want to have a full meal late into the night but nonetheless they would not budge. The weekends are busy, reservation's recommended and they follow a strict dress code. I do believe they are setting a precedent and catering to a demographic as more of an upscale Lounge. The service was great, server was attentive but also apologetic as she was bound to a strict menu. Worth checking out for the vibes.

The hooka is decent but they charge you with each change of coal. I had the shawarma poutine last time, it was delicious but def more tandoor flavoured meat than poutine but still tasty

The menu leans fusion, so there was a lot to try, and overall it felt like a fun place to share plates and compare notes with the table. The cocktails definitely stood out for being stronger than the usual lighter, sweeter drinks you get elsewhere, and the smoky cinnamon one was probably the most memorable. For appetizers, the beef tartare with bone marrow was the clear winner for me. The tartare tasted bright and fresh, and the marrow was rich without feeling greasy. The mussels were also enjoyable, mostly because they were fresh and sat in a creamy broth that made the whole dish feel comforting. We also tried the octopus with pumpkin purée, which had a nice chewy texture and a lovely sweetness from the purée, although a slight charred taste came through more than I personally wanted. For mains, a few dishes landed better than others. The ribeye with chimichurri was one of the stronger choices, tender, properly cooked medium rare, and especially good with that sharp, herbaceous sauce. The ribs were also very tender and full of flavor. The salmon in puff pastry was enjoyable enough that I would order it again, even though the pastry itself was a little softer than I expected. The udon carbonara was decent and comforting, but probably not the most memorable thing on the table, and the signature chicken had flavorful meat even if the rice leaned a bit too soft for me. One small complaint I kept coming back to was the bread, which tasted more charred than I like. Still, Wilcox feels like a nice little spot for a relaxed dinner with drinks, especially if you go in the mood to share, explore the menu, and order a few of the stronger dishes.

We were through security early enough that we could sit for a few drinks and something to eat. Our airline was not serving any food and drink so eating before was definitely crucial. We sat at the bar, distanced from others and ordered from the tablet. I kind of wish they had hand sanitizer beside each tablet but of course I had my own anyways. We ordered a caesar salad and the mushroom quesadilla to split. We also ordered two spicy caesars - we were after all traveling to the home of the caesar - Calgary. Honestly for airport food the meal was quite lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed both items and was definitely full. The drinks were decently spicy and not watered down which I appreciate especially with a caesar. Staff was friendly, efficient, and attentive! Prices were extortionate, but that was to be expected at an airport anyways!

I was excited for the spinach dip but it came out room temp and was underwhelming but they gave a good amount of bread to dip it with. Truffle fries were good though. One quick thing was we had to wait a while for our table which we already had as a reservation which I thought was weird. Other than that, service was fab and everyone was super nice and accommodating. As for the food: - Truffle Tortellini: 5/5 stars. This was BOMB!!! The sauce was amazing and rich with flavour. I loved the asparagus and spinach add ins which was a nice balance to the pasta carbs. I also opted in for prawns in my pasta which was a great combo. Not too salty, was just perfect. - Lychee Martini: 3.8/5 stars. Honestly I was already nursing a hangover so this was even stronger than I expected. I wish they added a bit more lychee juice to balance out the strong vodka but overall it was really good! - Passion Fruit Martini: 3/5 stars. I'm not a big passion fruit girl so thankfully it wasn't my drink. It was nice and citrusy. Super refreshing if you wanted something to sip on throughout the night. Was less strong than the lychee martini. - Chicken Hunan Kung Pao: 4.2/5 stars. WOW this was delicious. The portion was massive with lots of noodles and veggies. I personally didn't give it 5/5 as I've had better ones at Asian restaurants however, this was pretty good! Good flavour. Overall, I'm very satisfied and will be coming back again with my girls!! Can't wait to try new things
