So when the opportunity arose to pop in for a quick drink and some food, I was pretty stoked. We showed up shortly after 6:00 on Thursday evening and the place was empty. As far as ambiance goes, the joint wasn't super promising; there was an oscillating fan sitting on top of one of the tables, a woman was caring for a baby near the back, and the music was being piped from a very clear Bluetooth speaker. Not great. The food and my drink fared slightly better. For my cocktail, I went with the Lucky Strike ("Lucky Charms Milk Punch + Nikka Days Whisky"), which I thought was fine. There was no real complexity of flavor and I thought that it was too sweet, but I basically enjoyed it. We got a couple of Dim Sum options, the Har Gow ("shrimp") and the Cha Sew Bao ("barbecue pork bun"), and they were both pretty middle-of-the-road but generally satisfying. The three accompanying sauces helped, too. I feel like Resurrection was having an off night, so I'll maybe go back and give it another shot in the future.

The music wasn't too loud that you cannot maintain a conversation. They have the regular shisha flavours like double apple, mint etc. They also have other special flavours like island breeze which cost $32/shisha. They do charge for extra coal, the shisha comes well prepared and ready to be smoked. It was a smooth, flavourful & enjoyable experience. Now one thing I have to note, their menus is fixed, you cannot convince them to make any altercation to any item on the list nor request items (drinks) which aren't on the menu. That leads me to my next point, you cannot order sides unless you order a main. I personally don't understand why. One may not necessarily want to have a full meal late into the night but nonetheless they would not budge. The weekends are busy, reservation's recommended and they follow a strict dress code. I do believe they are setting a precedent and catering to a demographic as more of an upscale Lounge. The service was great, server was attentive but also apologetic as she was bound to a strict menu. Worth checking out for the vibes.

We ordered the oden set with yogurt soju, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, and the salmon fried udon with uni sauce. Everything was super comforting and flavorful, especially the oden on a cold night. What really made it stand out was the bingo game. It got the whole bar involved and made the night feel more interactive and social. We ended up chatting with a group nearby and even taught them a Malaysian yam seng cheers, which turned into a really fun moment. Great spot for a lively night out with good food and energy.
