When I later received a phone call from the sheriff's office saying that I needed to move my car from the road so that they could plow it, I called Randy. He was able to quickly meet me and was adaptable to safely move my car, despite challenges of it being snowed and frozen in. He also gave us COVID-safe tailgate rides to the car and back to our home after parking it. Finally, Randy secured a safe place for us to park the car until the snow melts. Randy offers knowledgeable, professional service. He has all of the appropriate equipment for road towing and we are thankful that we found him so quickly! It is notable that this is not a flatbed towing service, so there are limitations of what can be towed through Hercules. But, there are maneuverability benefits to non-flatbed towing. However, due to all the recent ice and snow apparently AAA services are way behind schedule and are not towing from Portland to Vancouver, as that is "out of area". We were advised that we could pay for a tow and AAA would reimburse us. I immediately looked on Yelp, as other Yelpers reviews always make a difference. This is how I found Affordable Towing and Transport. Based on the reviews of great service, I called and like the others had an intermediate response. I explained the situation with my 78-year-old mother needing to get her car towed from SE Portland to North of Battleground, WA. Tom let me know that he had a current car on his truck, but could make it to my mothers location in a reasonable amount of time and transport her and her car safely home. This was wonderful as I was still at home in Vancouver, but was reassured that she would be taken care of and I would not need to drive down there to her location. (Mom was safe and sound as she'd been visiting my handicapped sister.) When he showed up, he said that it sounded like she had a dead battery. However a local do-gooder said that he had already tried to jump her car and to him it seemed like the starter. So Tom loaded up the car and took my mom to her home north of Battleground. It turns out Tom was completely correct in his assessment. My mother had left her car lights on for over 40 minutes and the car battery had died. How many tow truck drivers would have diagnosed an issue that would not require a tow? I am ever so impressed with that level of customer service! As it was now rush-hour traffic, my mother and Tom had a wonderful conversation on the long drive to her home. She simply cannot say enough good things about this wonderful man. And her housemate was also extremely impressed, as Tom was concerned about the neighbors and had even turned off his truck lights while dropping off her car. The housemate also asked for Tom's card for whenever he needs a tow, as he has a bunch of kids who love working on cars. It is such a blessing to have a man like this out on the roads helping others. With a kind heart and thoughtfulness towards others, I would consider him the one to hire whenever I also should need a tow of any kind. We parked our car at the airport economy parking lot, and when we reached our car we realized our car battery died and our manual key couldn't even open the door. I called my car insurance provider, and learned I didn't have roadside assistance (my fault), but they said they can locate a nearby locksmith to unlock my car - I accepted their assistance. They said they found someone and he will be there in a hour. A hour goes by, and then it turns out the provider was unable to fulfill my request (after WAITING A HOUR in the cold). I was livid and called back my car insurance policy and they were able to locate another provider, which turned out to be Jesse's Roadside Rescue. Jesse arrived in less than 20 minutes. He provided speedy, efficient, and courteous service. He got my car unlocked and jump started in a few mere minutes. I highly recommend him for any roadside services!
