This place might be fine for small jobs, but I wouldn't recommend them for anything too sophisticated.

I didn't need to drive my car anywhere, so I didn't bother getting it repaired. Fast forward from early January to the end of April, and I was now in desperate need of my car. We knew the alternator was shot and that the battery needed replacement. Local body shops quoted some pretty steep prices and weren't sure when they could get to it. Our neighbors referred us to James Mobile Auto Repair. He was able to come out to our house the following day, and confirmed it was the battery and alternator. He ordered the parts and was back the next day to complete the work. He is really kind, informative, fair priced, knowledgeable, and just did a great job. She initially took her car to the Ford dealership to diagnose an oil leak that affected engine performance. Ford quoted a total of 4 different supposed repairs that totaled over 6K. I've known for a long time not to trust what comes from a 'Stealership'. That's when I met Matt. Not only did he take time to thoroughly inspect the car, he ruled out all of these supposed repairs Ford quoted and isolated the problem to the main seal at the back of the block. Matt replaced the part in record time and was incredibly reasonably priced saving my friend 1000s of dollars. I had another mechanic look at it exactly a year ago, and had to bring it back twice, for the same problem, they lied to me and said the Alternator cable was shorting out, and charged a huge amount of money,. Then it only lasted 1 year. They used cheap aftermarket parts, and that is why it only lasted a year! It took Recovery Road Automotive less than one day to fix it, at a very affordable price. Simply put, Sal is fantastic. My 2009 Mazda 6 was going into limp mode and throwing multiple codes…read moreafter a botched valve cover gasket job performed by a shop across the river (which shall remain nameless for now). I contacted Sal, and he came over to review the car the next day. He discovered an electrical connection issue in the throttle body (the other shop bent and almost broke an electrical connector pin), as well as misfires in one of the cylinders caused by additional sloppy work by the shop across the river. He corrected both issues, and we're back to safe driving. Throughout the process, Sal communicated everything to me clearly and honestly. He's seems very invested in making the car right; not just running up a bill or finding new problems to fix. Speaking of that, he actually did find one additional problem to fix - a very worn and cracked serpentine belt - and he replaced that on his next visit, along with the aged and tired OE tensioner (the car has 214K miles on it, so a lot of parts are aged and tired). This was a product of his thoroughness and concern for a customer, not ginning up unnecessary work. Also importantly, Sal's prices are beyond reasonable. I would have paid 4 times what I paid Sal if I had taken the car back to the other shop {shudder} or some different brick-and-mortar shop in the Couve.
