Even if her adopted pet did get kennel cough prior to being adopted that certainly doesn't warrant a negative review. Animals get colds and viruses just like people do and it can't always be avoided especially when they are taking in strays and/or uncared for pets. When you adopt an animal you have a responsibility to care for your new pet and should expect to pay for what ever medical ailment and treatment he/she should need immediately following the adoption process. If you can't afford medical care for unexpected medical issues then you shouldn't be adopting a pet. Thank you Richardson Rescue for protecting animals and saving their lives!!! The owner, Janet, said all emails had been sent out. She said to apply for a second time in case there was some glitch or typo. I applied for a second time on 9/12 around 12pm. Given it was a weekend, she said they would process it Monday or Tuesday. Tuesday, 9/15, I again have zero emails. I messaged her on facebook asking what the status was on my second application, and she said that all emails had been sent out. Again, I had zero emails (including in the spam folder) from them. She apologized over messenger and told me to call the next day between 10 and 3:30 and tell whoever answers the phone that Janet said to apply over the phone. Wednesday, 9/16, I called around 12:40 to no answer and left a voicemail. I didn't receive a single call back, so Thursday, 9/17, I called again around 1:30, to no answer. As of 9/19, he's now been taken off the website, I assume adopted. How can you run a rescue, begging for donations and adopters, yet don't answer people who are genuinely interested. What a scam.

The only reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars, is they take your pet to an exam room without you. You don't meet the vet or watch the exam. I was contacted by email with blood test results in under 24 hours. What makes this service amazing, is that it is a way to get basic services at a price I can afford. My vet wanted over $300 for Senior Annual Labs. The humane society charged me $130 for labs and a heartworm test.

I got there about 3pm and also saw people leaving the clinic side of the building with their cone head dogs too. This makes my heart so happy. This place is doing wonderful things and making magic. They had adorable cats too, well 1 cat and about 6 kittens. ‍ also noticed they had a cat cafe but I didn't see a espresso machine and I only saw 1 cat. I don't know if it's only open certain hours but that's a wonderful idea. The sign said tea also so I hope they're able to get that going and they make need a volunteer for the cafe. I also was given a huge bag of food, some de-wormer, and some special treats from McCoys. Now we have Prince Harry, a tabby. He was part of a litter of cats that was turned in and after he passed all his exams and had a spaying, he's ready to go home. My daughter picked him and named him. He's still settling in to our home. He immediately charmed our two female dogs but the three cats are still warming to him. Wonderful experience adopting from here. Chaos, but an organized chaos. And at the end of it, we have this new life to live with us! I'm really glad to have him with us, but really, people need to be doing better at spaying and neutering their pets. When calling out names, the employees were not even being loud, with the dogs and cats barking, its no wonder how people cannot hear their names. Its like the girls were purposely trying to not have to interact with the customers. I noticed a lady asking the employees questions and she reported that the girl was giving her an attitude. It really did seem that way. I had gotten so anxious waiting and feeling unwelcomed that I had a panic attack and left before they even called my name. Got in at 2:25 and left at 3:55. It sucks to see the employees not care about others and the animals. I was there to adopt!! I hope they work on management amd customer servive because it was horrible. We dropped in to the Cornelius Animal Shelter today to donate some cat litter, treats and toys…read more When we lived in New York we worked closely with the local animal shelter and would foster sick cats and kittens through them until they were ready to go back to the shelter and get adopted. Our new place down here isn't big enough to handle fosters, but we still want to help out all those poor kitties. The shelter is set up to hold about sixty cats at a time (not sure how many dogs), though when we went there were under twenty of them. The cages are very spacious and clean which is important to not only the cat's health but to make them more "attractive" to prospective parents who drop in. There is also a nice little wooded area set aside as a dog walking trail, so there is a nice place where their dogs can get some exercise. The employee at the front desk was very friendly and appreciative of our donation. The location is a little off the beaten path but still worth visiting if you're looking to bring home a new family member. The cost to adopt a cat is $85 and it's $95 for a dog. I would highly recommend adopting over purchasing from a breeder or somewhere else.
