Very different service than I usually receive at the dentist. They were also quite efficient. Got here early, they saw me immediately and there was no time wasted in the chair. I was in and out in 30 minutes. They even offered me different colors for my retainer?? Didn't know that was a thing. The only other thing I'll mention - Getting a replacement retainer was quite expensive and they didn't really have the option for payment plans.

Here is what happened: I had a scheduled appointment for May 26th. On May 12th I experienced a dental emergency -- a chipped crown so sharp it was causing real discomfort -- and I called to ask if I could be seen sooner. I was told there was absolutely no availability and was placed on a cancellation list. Left with no option, I visited an emergency dentist on May 15th. Because that provider was out of network with my insurance, I was responsible for $2,700 -- a cost I would not have incurred had Hampden Dentistry accommodated my emergency. At my May 26th appointment, my dentist expressed surprise at how my call had been handled and acknowledged that the practice has a protocol for emergency requests that was not followed. I appreciated her candor, but that acknowledgment didn't resolve the financial harm. That same visit, I was promised an emailed estimate for an upcoming crown. It was never sent. When I followed up, I was told it had already been emailed -- it had not. On June 4th I sent a detailed, professional email to the practice requesting a modest accommodation of $700 -- the difference between what I paid out of network and what I would have paid at Hampden. On June 5th I received a call promising a follow-up within 7 business days. No follow-up came. On June 17th I sent a final follow-up requesting a response by June 20th. I heard nothing. My dentist is a skilled and caring clinician and this review is not about her. It is about a practice whose front desk failed to follow emergency protocols and cost a patient significant money -- and whose owner was made personally aware of the situation, promised a response within 7 business days, and never followed through.

Dr Biety is super friendly, honest, and won't sell you something/services you don't need. He explains everything very well, from the initial consultation, through the whole process, up until the very end. I was shocked to read in another review that at some places, patients rarely see the Dr after the first consultation. Dr Biety is present at every single appointment; he checks in with how the patients are doing, has fun chatting with patients/parents and his staff. There are good vibes in this office! Luckily, because of him and his assistant Kelly, I still have most of my teeth. I had to have two teeth extracted: one was a crown and the other right next to it had broken off. Dr Long took great lengths to provide me the numbing I needed. He coached me through the entire process with compassion. When it came to removing the teeth, I was really nervous. He listened and assured me it would be fine. In no time, he had extracted the two teeth and placed the gauze in my mouth. Wow! It was painless and I was amazed how fast the procedure went! Dr Long and Kelly are amazing! If you are apprehensive about dental procedures, I recommend you visit their office at Lakewood Family Dentistry on the corner of 14th and Yukon.
