Lack of professionalism and racist behaviour? I was looking to get my cat groomed, but the staff lady who is the groomer told me that she cannot accept my cat because the hair was too close to the skin, REALLY? As in hair suppose a separate layer, which makes no sense for number of reasons. One my cat was groomed there before, but the difference the appointments were made my phone not through walk in. Second my father who is NOT a professional cat groomer had bought pet clippers and shaved the cat before. Plus she could have offered "shaving waver" IF THAT WAS THEIR CONCERN. I am not questioning her skills, but i am questioning the assessment and her unprofessional behaviour and the dismissal answer i received? Her immediate denial, rude behaviour, and lack of professionalism makes one think if her denial of service was more racially/discriminatory rather than the answer I received "hair is too close to the skin". Pure discrimination and unprofessionalism in my view. read more

Took my Chihuahua-Shih-tzu mix Zelda in on June 26, 2019. The groomer did an amazing job! She even managed to brush my girl's teeth! They understood perfectly that I didn't want her shaved (helps she wasn't matted to begin with) and the length was perfect! The groomer double checked with me it was good at the end and made a note on Zelda's card. I made it pricey by leaving a 20% tip but it was definitely worth it. read more

I have a beautiful mini Golden doodle that has the perfect gold teddy bear look. We brush and comb him every 2 days. After his bathes, its a challenge, with his beautiful long thick hair, we blow dry him, brush him, and comb him. Today we brought him for his 3rd visit at #chapelhillgrooming . When my wife arrived to pick him up, he was shaved when we asked for a trim to keep the long locks. The girl gave every excuse saying he was matted after his bath... obviously, any doodle owner knows that a doodle is work after a bath. She than said that dog owners don't know how to brush them.. and kept aggressively defending why she shaved him and proceeded by rolling her eyes and walking away in the middle of a conversation. They than proceeded to making my wife cry by being confrontational as she explained this is not what we asked for. They also charged her a full 115$ fee instead of the 75$ fee we brought him in for. After reading other reviews and talking to other dog owners who have had similar experiences. It is clear that they do not want to spend the time and care to brush and comb a dog after their bath to give them the proper trim requested because of time. Time is money, lets get these dogs groomed and quick for the next one. After my wife called me hysterically crying, i decided to call the manager. Instead of listening and understanding that one of his employees and himself made my wife cry (all while i was being sympathetic and understanding of their "ways and techniques ") he told me that he will defend his employee. Instead of being understanding and apologetic, he was agressive and confrontational to me and my wife. This was the worst customer service, grooming service that i have ever experienced and i strongly suggest you to look elsewhere if you want a trim for your beautiful doodle. #chapelhillgrooming just wants to get the cut done in the fastest way to move on to the next. We've been taking our pekingese Otis here for a while and they always make him look great. All our requests - a little longer, a little shorter, let's try x or y for his tail or mane, they go for and make it work! Our boy isn't the most social with other dogs but things work there due to their care and diligence. Very happy, would recommend. read more

The manager Eric should not be in managment. They called to tell me that my dog had to be sedated which is fine, means have to give a melatonin. He had zero customer service skills, trying to keep me on the phone when I was driving and then cancelled without notifying me. He called my mother, my husband (which no reason too). I was to take my dog in today, my understanding and there is no apt. after already waiting 3 months. I'm extremely disappointment with his customer service. The owners are on vacation apparently but have esculated the matter. read more

To future clients of Chapel Hill Grooming. Please consider going somewhere else to get your pets groomed. The owner of this establishment is a thief and has no ethics. At my appointment, my dog had a panic attack and was unable to get groomed. I wanted to reschedule my appointment. The owner told me that she would keep the money, a charge of $86.84 and if I wanted to set another appointment, she would charge me another $86.84!! Thank goodness that my financial institution is crediting me back the amount that she stole from me and she will also be penalized with a fine. In today's age of social media, a business owner can not afford to provide bad customer service. All I can say is "What goes around, comes around". read more

Took my first chow chow here a few times and never had a problem. When she passed away and decided to get another dog , I took her here also for her grooming. The owner herself did the cut and complained to me that the dog would not listen and could not finish the job. She even asked me if there's something wrong with my dog cause cause she would not stay still and requested I get my dog examined. I said she's a puppy, this is her first time experiencing grooming. Never went back and decided to take my business to GROOMER'S TOUCH on shefford rd. No regrets ! read more

I stopped by this location to have my puppy's first nail trim. I was greeted by a groomer and they were able to trim the nails of my puppy right away and took my puppy in the back. The entire process took about 5 minutes and didn't hear any whining from my puppy. The groomer came back with my puppy and pointed out that she could not properly trim 2 of the claws because my puppy was small and cut them too short. She did say that there was a bit of bleeding and that if it started again that I should put flour on it. I was a bit shocked by this and my puppy didn't seem to have enjoyed the experience at all. The groomer did not offer an apology for this and charged $16.95 for the service. I will not be returning to this location. read more

The first time the groomer understood that my dog had age related health issues and she explained how she cared and accommodated to his health problems (my dog has trouble standing on all four legs). This groomer was kind and considerate of our dog and our worry for him. The second time I brought my dog a different groomer rudely returned the dog to me and made a comment about how difficult he was to groom given his difficulties standing. She had me pay, looked to see that we tipped and then said they wouldn't take him back at the groomer. Well no problem - we don't want to take him back, nor would we recommend this groomer to anyone else. read more

I have been bringing my pet dog Ellie here for over a year now and she absolutely loves it! She's always excited to be dropped off, and so lovely, fluffy & clean when I pick her up afterwards! The staff is very nice, bilingual, and you can tell they truly love animals and love their work! Ellie also gets her nails trimmed, ears washed, teeth brushed...and always looks so snazzy with her bandana. These guys are awesome and I have nothing but good things to say about them and the services they offer!! read more

Took my puppy there for the 3rd. time. They did a great job the first 2 times and I told them to cut her the same length. When I picked her up I was SHOCKED. She had been shaven. Only a little hair remaining on her ears & tail. The young girl said that her hair is very fine and she used the wrong blade so they had to continue the job. They have a card for her with the exact instructions and this should NOT have happened!!!! I was very upset as she doesn't even look like the same dog. It will take months to grow back in. They didn't even offer a discount and told me that it won't happen again. For sure it won't since I will never bring her back there and will make sure to tell everyone I know to AVOID them. read more

We have a new puppy who needed a trim of her face/head and her nails clipped. They were flexible in accepting us as we didn't have an appointment. The result seemed fine - I don't know how they do it with such a wiggly puppy. Her face looked great and nails were done well. We are taking her for a full cut in the next week so we will see how that goes. First impression was good. read more

I had a scheduled appointment for my two cats for 8am, they called me the day before telling me it was for 9am, I asked are you sure it's for 9, she said yes. I showed up at 8:30 with both cats and got nothing but attitude telling me I was late and that she couldn't do them, said the appointment was for 8:00 and 9:00, couldn't even do one of them, no apologies, didn't even ask to reschedule. Very unprofessional!! I will NEVER return to this place again. read more
