In the first month of being pregnant, I have had my appointment canceled on me and told I need to call back to reschedule about 5 or 6 times. I had an appointment scheduled and I was unsure of its purpose, I called the office and asked, I asked in person at my previous appointment, I called again after that. Every time I was told they would get back to me or they weren't sure. I drove 30 minutes to the appointment just to be told the appointment was unnecessary and I didn't need to be seen. I now have to drive 30 minutes back home. As an exhausted pregnant woman, this is extremely infuriating to have my time, limited energy, and gas money wasted, especially as I had asked multiple times to avoid this exact outcome. On top of that, every appointment you need to fill out a form that is a handful of pages long, even if you were just there the week before, it doesn't matter and you need to fill it out again. The doctors are knowledgeable, some are friendlier and kinder than others, but you will see someone different every single time. If you are someone who will need multiple appointments, I'm confident your experience will be an absolute mess and stress inducing. I would recommend saving yourself the multiple headaches and not become a patient here.

Once the tech arrived, things were pleasant and reasonably speedy. Blood draw and urine sample achieved, even though there were significant disability issues involved.

Then when I get there I'm told to make a video appointment. After explaining I already tried that, I was told "well you would have to open your mouth during the exam and could gag". They stated that they are qualified to treat my issue, but can't treat me. They went on to insist that they were not refusing me treatment. You can treat + you won't treat = you refuse to treat. Simple as that. I had no symptoms/known exposure to COVID, I just needed an antibiotic, not that they even let me get to the point of being screened.

I usually don't mind waiting, I'm understanding but as I'm waiting in the room I hear him complaining to staff about how people expect to be seen in 1 minute of being here. They had a several minute conversation about this. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he'll spend good quality time with his patients and that's why it takes so long. Nope. When he came into the room, he was very dismissive, talked over me, started to listen to my lungs when i was in the middle of telling him my symptoms telling me to breath in, so completely interupting me. Then when he goes to look into my ears he does not even use a speculum tip, not only is this disgusting and not sanitary, but also you can't see anything without the speculum tip!! Then he said he would send my antibiotic for strep throat and he never sent it, I went to pick it up the next day and he never sent it. When I called to ask them to send it, I waiting on the phone for 10 minutes and the office never picked up. Unbelievable.

I have had ear infections, pneumonia, and skin issues over the years, all of which Dr. Mikan was able to help me with, without just pushing medication. He has had to refer me a couple of times, and his referrals have also been good doctors. His office has moved to 4 Corporate Drive, in the RD Scinto Corporate Towers. I would recommend Dr. Paul Mikan to my friends and family as their primary care physician.
