Stumbled upon here whole shopping and wish I had discovered this place sooner. The service was very helpful with recommendations and friendly. I opted for the Catfished, which was prepared fresh and delicious with just the right amount of spices! There are plenty of seating options available. Will definitely be back again to try their many other options. Enjoy!

We were SO excited to try Chao Bao because we're huge fans of Moon Rabbit, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The food was fantastic. We were especially huge fans of the catfish and pork belly sandwiches, so much so that we completely inhaled them before remembering to take pictures. Hence, the post-demolition sandwich photo. The wings and spring rolls were also amazing, but seriously: do not sleep on the fries. Whatever seasoning they're putting on them is insanely good and made them way more memorable than fries have any right to be. Everything was packed with flavor, and you can definitely feel the Moon Rabbit DNA while Chao Bao still has its own thing going on. Already looking forward to going back and trying more!

Beefy and beautiful pho - 4/5 Iced Vietnamese coffee - 4/5 Atmosphere - 5! Service - 5! Lovely restaurant and atmosphere. Food and coffee was just alright. Beefy and beautiful pho had a good amount of meat, but the meatballs were not the best tasting. There weren't that many noodles in the dish surprisingly. Wish they had sizing options as well. Service was the highlight here. It's like fine dining in the middle of the mall. As a cheaper option and no service, you can always get takeout and eat at one of the mall tables nearby.

Ambiance: if you have been to the 'food court' in Tysons Galleria, you're in for an upscale treat. It's probably one of the most beautifully decorated food court in the area. Service: we went towards the end of the evening so it wasn't busy. Service was good and fast! Food: My date loved his rice platter. I ordered that for him instead of pho because that's what most Americans know. He was raving about it. I tried the pork and it's exactly how my mom makes her lemongrass pork chops. My peanut noodles bowl was very flavorful. I didn't read clearly and wanted to note that there's no protein. I'm sure you can ask to add. The Da Lat limeade was decent but I think if they added soda water it would be better. Overall - definitely will come back to try the catfish banh mi!!!

Pho Spice Fries

Honestly delightful. We came for brunch a few minutes after opening and we're well taken care of for a larger party. We had the pho spice fries to munch while waiting for part of our party to arrive, which we're flavorful though quite salty (so either less salt or less msg but the spice blend was otherwise spot on). I had the catfished/catfish banh mi which I loved, and some of the beefy & beautiful pho, which was a nice modern take in that there the meat included lean brisket, meatballs, and a thick slice of fatty pork with a clean broth. The drinks were fantastically creative (had the sea salt kiss and panda matcha latte) and delicious. I'd love to come back and enjoy more of the menu.

SO wanted to try something new and decided on Chao Ban. She didn't care to dine-in so we picked up the following: DUCKING AROUND (7/10) pho spiced confit duck leg, egg noodles, bok choy, shiitake mushrooms, cilantro, shaved white onions, scallions, pho broth $27 SHRIMPLY THE BEST (7/10) pho spiced tempura shrimp, mayo, maggi, cucumber, cilantro, jalapeno, pickled carrots & daikon $18 Both items were good, but not worth the price, especially Ducking Around. She felt it's worth more like $15ish, not close to double that, Shrimply the Best Good shrimp, but it was salty (overall), and the sauce tasted rather excessive / overpowering. ~$20 Banh Mi (post tax) better be crazy good to be able to command that price tag...

Viet Coffee

Such a cute spot inside Galleria! The hostess and the waitress were extremely friendly. Now for the food and drinks 1. Viet Coffee - not too sweet but has an interesting aftertaste. Not sure what it is but it's okay. 2. Crispy Spring Rolls - $8 and only 2 pieces. It is very good, however, I wish they gave at least 3 which is standard in most places. 3. Beefy and Beautiful Pho - such a fun name! TBH, the portion size was way too small for $21. Standard ingredients and they completely ran out of bean sprouts (which is basic for pho and they didn't have any very disappointing). The broth itself was very good. Very spice heavy aromatics compared to local Viet restaurants. Some complaints to make: 1. We were introduced to ordering on QR code. When we scanned it, it was popping up our neighboring table's order and we were so confused. The waitress had to switch the QR code with the other table. 2. When we were checking out, somehow... ANOTHER table's order was added into ours. Waitress seemed to not believe us for a moment that we didn't order it and I had to count out all the dishes on the table. 3. Checking out on the QR was a little confusing. It basically shows everyone's past bills(?) and remainder bills. At the payment screen, maybe some people don't notice but I immediately saw an extra charge for using the QR code. IMO, this shouldn't be charged to customers for the restaurant wanting customers to use this service platform. I'd come back again and try their other dishes. Overall, food is good. Just small portion size and the QR code nonsense. Just order through the waiters and ask for the bill through them as well.

The service was ok. I think they forgot about our order because we waited a long time after the people before us got their food. They also asked us what our name was for the order... I enjoyed the fried chicken although the fish sauce smell was really pungent. It tasted juicy! The catfish banh mi was fine. The carrots and cucumbers were definitely not pickled enough and the bread was just too wet from the ingredients. Unfortunately there was a small metal piece (probably from some kitchen item) in the noodle dish so we didn't even finish that. The white rabbit drink was delicious but it wasn't anything special. It was like an Asian black sesame / soy milk drink you can get at any Asian market.

I was looking forward to coming here as I was a fan of Moon rabbit. I didn't realize this was a sit down style restaurant, and I would've preferred to just order and eat. The wait staff was nice and friendly though. Overall, the food was really tasty and had depths in flavor. I got the chicken pho and the belly riot rice plate. No complaints about either in terms of taste, but for what you are paying, I wish the portion sizes were a bit bigger. I'd like to see this new restaurant last in this ever revolving door of restaurants in the galleria, but I would suggest they switch this to a more casual sit down space (no wait staff) and allow people to pay without scanning the QR code. The website they use charges a small transaction fee, which I wasn't thrilled about.

TLDR: Beautiful space, excellent flavors, and strong portions with a few service and quality control issues, but still worth returning for more. It is hard not to come in with certain expectations when dining at a Kevin Tien restaurant, and overall this visit still delivered in many ways. The brand new space is beautiful, and the ambiance is especially impressive for being inside a mall. The quality of the cooking and the flavors are undeniably good, and the portions are solid as well. There is also a house made sauce on the table that was absolutely delicious. You really cannot go wrong ordering the curry. The fusion of flavors paired with the crunchiness of the chicken was excellent and easily one of the highlights of the meal. Despite a few areas that could be improved, I would still come back to try other items on the menu. That said, there were a few disappointing details. My pho came with a piece of lime that was so dry it was impossible to get even a drop of juice out of it. When I asked for another piece, I was brought half a lime, but the skin was already starting to go bad. There were also only about 10 slices of jalapeños in the pho, and I do wish the online ordering system allowed for more customization. The bánh mì was also delicious, but it had so much sauce that the bread became soggy before we could finish it. Lastly, I unfortunately sat on some food that had been left on the chair when I arrived. While I take some responsibility for not checking the seat first, I do wish it had been wiped down after the previous customer.

Chao Ban is an Asian fast food eatery in third floor food court at Tysons II Galleria. Read that it's owned by same owner of Moon Rabbit (high end Vietnamese restaurant in DC). Order by scanning a QR code and they bring food to your table. You also settle your tab online. It's not a big menu but okay variety. The egg roll was very good and the dipping sauce great as well. Also recommended is the cabbage salad appetizer as the dressing was amazing. Wasn't very hungry so tried the spicy chicken banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich). The banh mi had good amount of pickled carrots and radishes. The spicy chicken was crispy and had good kick. Worth trying if you're craving Vietnamese at Tysons.

Fish Caramel "Wings"

As a Vietnamese American who grew up in a home deeply rooted in Vietnamese cooking and cuisine, I was excited to try this new concept. As an OG fan of Moon Rabbit, I was also eager to see which dishes would be highlighted here. The atmosphere: Located on the top floor of Tysons Galleria, Chào Bạn is a sit-down restaurant rather than a fast-casual spot like other businesses in the food court. There is also a kiosk available if you prefer to order takeout. For dine-in, you order through a QR code, and the food is brought directly to your table. You can even close out your tab from your phone, which makes the whole experience feel very seamless. The food: We started with the Fish Caramel "Wings." They reminded me of classic cánh gà chiên nước mắm, though these leaned a bit sweeter. Wish there was more sauce! They were also reminiscent of the fried chicken I had during a visit to Moon Rabbit years ago. I ordered the "Let Your Shoulder Lean," a classic broken rice dish served with pork shoulder. I loved the spicy fish sauce, and the portion was just right. I'd say the pork shoulder was more on the tougher side. The pickled vegetables helped balance everything nicely. The service: The staff was attentive and checked on us often.

Chao Ban is easily the busiest spot on the top floor of Tysons, and for good reason. The location is a major plus--parking is easy, and the space itself is surprisingly spacious for a mall restaurant. The food is much higher quality than your typical mall fare, offering truly authentic Vietnamese flavors that nail the balance of sweet and tangy. While I'd heard concerns about price versus portion size, I actually found the portions to be perfectly fair. The grilled pork was flavorful and charred perfectly, especially if you don't mind a bit of fat. They currently aren't offering carry-out (likely due to kitchen capacity?), so plan to dine in. With only about 15 tables, expect a line during busy hours.

This place open until 1AM!!…read more I went around 10PM on a rainy day. The pho soup quality was still super good even though it's almost closing time. The texture of the noodle itself is really soft and a little sticky. That's how I like my noodles. I have not come across this noodle type at other pho. The quality of the beef brisket was so tender and fresh. The soup base is so good you could probably finish drinking all of it. You order at one of the three touchscreen kiosks or with a staff. The waiters are friendly and work fast. Note, you have to clean up on your own. The tables aren't the best tbh but I like the lighting. It's not fancy but it was working for me. The food taste great but you're definitely paying Tyson prices at $20 pho. The smallest, tinest drinks are $5 At night, the parking outside has plenty of spots. Nue was the fine dining recommendation, and I have to say it was a great introduction to Vietnamese cuisine. As far as parking, there is a garage within walking distance of the stores and restaurants, so parking was pretty convenient. The restaurant itself was beautifully designed. It was dimly lit, spacious, and had a really nice atmosphere. Our waitress was also very knowledgeable about the menu and offered some great suggestions, which was especially helpful since I wasn't very familiar with Vietnamese food. The menu was pretty expansive, and I have to say some of the cocktail descriptions immediately caught my attention. I tried the Lychee Sunset Fizz, made with Hornitos Blanco Tequila, lychee liqueur and lychee, calamansi, yuzu and grenadine. I tend to go for sweeter drinks so this was a nice balance. For food, the Seafood Chả Giò was one of my favorites. It had wild Gulf shrimp, lump crab, Berkshire pork, taro, carrots and fresh herbs. It definitely seems to be one of their headlining items because it was something I noticed quite a few people ordering, and I can see why. But my absolute favorite was the Snow Crab Fried Rice. It had hand-pulled snow crab, shrimp, shallots, eggs and oyster mushrooms, and it was so flavorful and filling. Honestly, I regretted not ordering another portion to take home because I would have happily eaten it again later. All in all, I would definitely return to Nue to try some of the other items on the menu. I'm definitely not finished with my Vietnamese food journey yet, but this was a really great stop along the way. If the Snow Crab Fried Rice is any indication of what's still waiting for me on the menu, I have plenty more to explore.
