I've driven by this place 100 times and never noticed it since it's off to the side and the name doesn't make me think of Chinese food. I ordered it today and everything was really good! $14 for a giant plate of food with rice, noodles, and an egg roll in addition to my entree. The guy who helped me with my takeout was very friendly. Definitely coming back

Any place that is open during the Covid time is going to get a couple stars just for finding a way to be able to serve customers. The service was very good and yet kept the distance by asking from afar and providing water and all the extras we ask for with chinese food. Chopsticks extra sauce different sauces. It's grade a professional ordering for us. We ordered a couple of combination just to share across the table. It was more than enough food for three hungry people and we were. To have any leftovers is a feat in itself with us. The food and the flavor was okay. It is very american food. Worth a stop great late night place with their Karoke. Hope it comes back after all this

They are so good. I love them. *Hot & Sour Soup *Hot Chili Dumplins (8 pcs) *Xiu Mai (8pcs)

Xiu Mai is freshing and it has shrimp inside. Hot chili dumplings are good too. Pepper oil is very Chinese authentic. Hot & spicy soup is a bit too sour for me but it could be neutralized by pepper oil. Overall, I love it!

On a normal night this place is lovely. Friendly staff, good drinks and tasty food consistently. Going on Lunar New Year and, WOW! They threw an awesome party! Fire dancer, Dragon Dancers, and a really cool raffle. All such a good time. I won in the raffle and didn't realize how cool the prize was! For sure going to become a regular

Best food and clean as is tradition in Chinese restaurants worth dining in. I ordered salt and pepper shrimp and was a bit disappointed by comparison to other Chinese restaurants by shear lack of portion size. I ALWAYS have left overs at all the other chip restaurants but not tonight. Shrimp were smaller and fewer that I am used to. The bride ordered broccoli beef and shared my reaction.

100% OLD STALE and UNEDIBLE...FOOD POISONING RISK!!

This is a HEALTH VIOLATION AND MEDICAL EMERGENCY!!!!! My partner and I ordered their late night chinese a $40 order and we called in upon order through ubereats to ensure our ALLERGY... Had a debate about our ALLERGY to PEAS and to please DO NOT add to our rice..nor food and they ABSOLUTELY DID ON PURPOSE because we frustrated them!!!!! They actually sent us the MOST OLDEST, MOLDY, ROTTEN, FLAVORLESS, STALE food of my ENTIRE LIFE as if taken from the BACK of the storage kitchen or dated the OLDEST or FROM THE GARBAGE!!! We were actually hungry since it was late night but for a 9:30 pm order this is EVIL!! BOYCOTT this place! They SERIOUSLY tried to get us SICK and FOOD POISONED over nothing! JUST asking to PLEASE change your rice for us! of which they said "we prepackaged everything" "we can't change our rice".....????? I have picture proof of the disgusting GRUEL they sent over. CRAB Rangoon: Weird, beady rotten CHEESE??? Onion Rings: Actually Grey onions? Rice: Had PEAS and was mixed with lo mein?? and pork!? I'm VEGAN I asked for NO PORK or PEAS!! Orange Chicken: Dorta ok but we could not risk it. BROWN GRUEL was supposed to be a DUMPLING??? If I could call the Health Inspector I WOULD! This type of customer abuse is unacceptable! Ubereats refunded us but lost a $7.99 delivery fee + tip for THIS???? INSANITY.

The lunch portions were incredibly generous, especially the grilled cheese and fries, which were actually a kids meal! The buffalo chicken Caesar wrap was a little lacking in Caesar flavor, but where it lacked in Caesar, it definitely made up for it with the buffalo flavor, and it was still incredible. 10/10 across the board! The customer service was also amazing, and the staff were genuinely such a pleasure to interact with. And the little doodle on the bag was just the cutest added bonus! I went with the pulled pork sandwich, which was good and flavorful, and paired really well with their pepper & cabbage coleslaw on the side. We also split a cup of the roasted red pepper and tomato bisque, which was honestly a highlight of the whole meal -- rich, well-balanced, and worth ordering on its own. Drinks deserve a shoutout too: their non-alcoholic options were great. My friend raved about the guava lemonade, and I had the blueberry vinegar shrub, which was excellent -- bright, crisp, and refreshing.

Bastion definitely is part of what makes Portland's gluten free scene great! The location is in a beautiful small neighborhood in the city. Bastion sits among some small businesses and has the feel of a cozy business in a house. My absolute favorite thing about Bastion was their fried chicken. It was crispy and delicious. Often times gluten free items lack a bit of substance when it comes to how it feels, but the nice meaty chicken pieces really helped offset that in the case of the chicken sandwich. It was fulfilling to eat and would do a great job filling up anyone who is hungry. My wife went with the waffles and they were great. They were presented beautifully with a gorgeous flower garnish. If you want a nice IG picture, well, here you go! To wash it all down I tried their mango smoothie. And this thing was smooooooof. This was one of THE BEST smoothies I've had in a while and I would drive back up from Sacramento just to get this again. We loved our experience at Bastion and am sad to leave!

I do enjoy tarragon, although this cocktail was 100% strictly tarragon flavor, I unfortunately did not get anything else. My friends each ordered an IPA and they both immediately said (to me) that it was warm. They did not say anything to the bartender, I'm sure it would have been fixed if they did, but, pouring the beer the bartender should notice it's not ice cold IMO. We sat on the back patio, it literally felt like we were at someone's house, which was nice, although there was ZERO music, which I believe a little background noise is nice. I didn't realize kids were allowed, so as 3 folks going for "Sunday funday", twas not the vibe. TBH, everyone there was over 50, not complaining, just observation. Also, the bathroom is very small, I couldn't imagine if anyone was of bigger stature how they'd fit! And the toilet is so low, I'm a 36" inseam gal and I swear my knees were at my chin going potty LOL. Would I go back? No. Is it somewhere great for a family out on a Sunday? Yes. We were seated right away, wherever we wanted. I picked a shady indoor spot booth. I'm not sure, if it's the right booth, I then realized, they have the swings, by the window facing Burnside. I wanted to move, but hubby won't! No matter how much I begged, he ain't movin'. Then, I said: 'the music here is too loud.' His answer? 'There's always something!' So I stayed. I checked out the Patio. It might work, for the group. At least, there's one of us, who love alcohol. That may give them a reason to come. (She's driving the rest of the group). Since we are heading to an event, not far from here, we didn't have much time to take leftovers home, we didn't have a cooler, it's almost 80 degrees out, so we decided to eat something we could share. We picked the BBQ COHO Salmon Sandwich. Seared Coho salmon glazed with Bourbon BBQ sauce topped with baby Aragula and pickled red onions on a Portland French toasted potato bun. There's a $2 discount recess during happy hour (3-5pm). We were there at that time. (Is that the reason WHY the music were soo loud?) It was served with hand-cut fries. Both were just the perfect taste (delicious), and size for both of us. But, for some reason, I was still tempted to have something else. We looked at the desert menu, and decided on the Peach Crumble. Food taste so much better, when shared! Enough said. (We waited so long for this one, that we almost didn't made it to our event! We were enjoying our time here, that by the time we got to our car, we were rushing, and made it two minutes later we would have been late!) Negative: Music is too loud! Restroom could be improved. The smoked brisket hash was the standout. It came with tender brisket, eggs, breakfast potatoes, peppers, onions, and vegetables. The flavors worked really well together. It was hearty, flavorful, and had something different in almost every bite. We also tried the burger and fries. They were simple, solid, and satisfying. The fries had a nice crisp, and the burger was a good choice for a classic brunch or lunch option. I also really appreciated the non-alcoholic drink selection. A lot of places treat zero-proof drinks like an afterthought, but here they actually had fun options. The Phony Espresso Negroni was a great non-alcoholic cocktail and made the meal feel special without needing alcohol. Overall, this was a very enjoyable brunch with good food, friendly service, a relaxed patio, and enough variety on the menu that I would happily come back again.

First try, we walked in at 10:04 on a Friday night and were happily (Disney villain like) turned away by the hostess. It says on the outside they close at 11 and we saw quite a few tables who were just sat and hadn't ordered yet but she said last seating is at 10. If I were the owner I'd be mad bc the food isn't cheap so having a gatekeeper turn away $100++ over being 4 minutes too late is wild. We finally got to try it and it was a big letdown. We did a walk in and were only given the option to sit at the bar or outside. Outside tables can't be pushed together so if there's more than 2 people you sit adjacent to each other. We sat at the bar and were mostly ignored. My water glass stayed empty (had to ask for a refill). Beyond the lackluster service, the food wasn't good either. The meatball appetizer was the saddest, tiniest 3 meatballs for $16. If they tasted great, I'd be ok with the price but they had a watery flavorless tomato sauce and they were tiny and tasted like vinegar. I've never had vinegar meatballs so I'm not sure if this is normal? We also tried 3 different pastas. The spaghetti dish tasted like what I imagine a children's menu butter noodles at an Olive Garden might taste like. It was literally butter on noodles with a hint of lemon. For almost $30. The farfalle with lamb was salty and the noodles were overly Al dente. I appreciate Al dente noodles but not when it's hard in the middle of the bow tie. Our friend got the tagliatelle and it was bland. Not much veggies. My husband was still hungry after eating his whole plate of spaghetti so he finished our friend's tagliatelle and a quarter of my farfalle. It shouldn't take 2+ plates of pasta and an appetizer to fill someone up. I ended up making food when I got home about 2 hours later bc I was still hungry. On top of it all, 20% gratuity is included so I don't think the servers are trying like they would if they had to earn their tips. Overall, one of the biggest letdowns in SE so far. If you want to pay a lot of money to be ignored and leave hungry, you will love it here.
