Omg I will never recommend this place to anyone... My heart is entirely broken... I don't know what to say except this is the worst experience in my life... I gave my 1 year old great looking expensive stage costume ( white blouse and white pants, designer's handiwork) to clean, because there was a slight stain of lipstick on the blouse shoulder and generally, I just wanted to clean it in order to refresh... What I got is a complete nightmare, both, blouse and pants, the color is changed from gentle milky white to dirty yellowish...And three big brown stains on the blouse that never were there before! The girl at the reception had offered to clean the blouse to fix the stains.. But when we came to pick it up after, the old Asian woman, which I assume, is the owner, was arguing from the very beginning and saying, that the stains were there before, the color wasn't changed, it is all the same as before...Even when I pointed at the decollate on the blouse which for some reason did not change the original color, but the rest of the blouse did... she claimed, "this is your word against mine, and I say, the stains were there before and we did not change the color..." I was not arguing, I wasn't yelling at her or insulting her, I wanted to find a solution, and honestly, I don't know what is worse, getting back my costume absolutely ruined or getting such a horrible attitude, when the dry cleaner representative, you paid money for service to and expected at least from her a solution or an option to fix the problem, is just talking down to you from the very beginning of conversation, claiming that you don't have any chance to stand for your rights.... I am Ukrainian, I have been traveling so many countries, this is my first time I have this amazingly bad attitude without any respect and politeness... This is not the first time I give this costume to the different dry cleaners, but it is definitely the first time I get it ruined like this, at this dry cleaner...I wouldn't be that much sad if that lady would have better attitude...But the whole experience with the ruined clothes and such a response, is absolutely traumatic...At the end of conversation, I got 10 dollars back... 10 dollars of compensation from the dry cleaner... First off, I've been a customer of this establishment since I was what, 15 years old? I'd bring my Rocawear jeans and Nautica jackets in for cleaning. Those were the days. Nowadays, all my friends are getting married and I have to step up my "suit game." So here I go, straight to Channel Islands Cleaners. Let me start off by saying that the staff here comes across as sincere and friendly. However, the point of my review is to address the way my situation was handled. Upon arrival at 11:30 AM, I asked if my suit could be tapered and hemmed in two days since I was heading to a wedding and needed it done promptly. Next thing you know, there are safety pins all over my suit and I'm under the impression that we're good to go. I asked the owner one more time to confirm, "So, two days, right?" She replies, "Actually, you can even call in tomorrow to check up on it; it may be done earlier." Close to half their business day goes by and I get a phone call at 4:30 PM from the owner saying "I'm sorry, but it actually looks like it's going to take longer than expected and we won't be able to meet your two-day deadline. You can come in to pick up your suit." So... five hours go by until they finally realize that they underestimated the amount of time it would take? Did they forget that I need this done promptly and now I'm running out of options because they just... figured this out? Add to that, all I get is a measly apology? - No effort to make it up to a lifelong customer? Well, it was nice while it lasted. I think I'll take my suit game elsewhere. read more

This review is for the alterations. I took in my BJJ/Judo gi to hem the pant legs, sleeves and add two patches. When I received my gi back there was a tear on it, mind you its a HCK they are though, thick gi's. The lady at the counter said I brought it in like that, I told her No I didn't, I inspected the gi before I tried it on at my house. The lady at the counter said they don't do the alterations there and that its out sourced so it's not their fault. What kind business tells their customers that it's not their fault for a service they charge for. When I inspected the tear it looked like they put the patch on the wrong lapel, so I stopped taking all my other things for dry cleaning. I don't like the idea that they won't take responsibility of the damage they caused. read more

I spoke to Millie I believe her name was and she assured me they could tailor and press it by the next day if I brought it in before 9am. I used to come here to this cleaners when I lived in the area and they had great prices. Their services were always really good and they were always ahead of schedule. I recommend this company to everyone that lives close by. The best thing they did for me was clean up this sports coat I bought from eBay that smelled like cigarettes. I paid $12 and waited about three days when I got the jacket back it looked amazing and the smell was gone. I use the sports coat about once a month right now. I am grateful that they were able to save me from throwing it away! read more

I take very expensive silk and hand made liturgical vestments to them for cleaning. I can really trust them to do a fine job, and they are even able to get red wine out of my white robe!
