Amazing pho! Very authentic and generous with the meat! They had so much soft brisket and tendon in the soup! Very big portion with good quality meat! Server is great but it's only him and it gets pretty busy! Clean and nicely plated food!

This place is incredible. To be clear, it's Thai fusion. Every dish was special. Happy to have found this local spot.

It's clean and nice inside. At least 15 tables. We WILL be back!!!! Like tomorrow

RUN DON'T WALK TO CHANG THONG!!! I ate a lot of Thai food while working in the Silicon Valley back in the 90's. This place reminded me of those day!! If you know you know!lol!! SUPER FRESH and as Locally Sourced as possible. You can tell the lady that's cooking has a lot of passion for her food!!! My coconut water was a real toasted coconut and it was cracked and cut open. Not only did I get the REFRESHING REAL COCNUT WATER, but I took it home and cut it more and took out the fresh Coconut Meat!!!! Win/Win #winning Now... this was our first time and it was busy (which is actually a great thing! ). There was only patient waiter and his name was BEN. He was perfect BUT busy busy busy! please be PATIENT when dining here. If you know that going in, all will be ok. When going back, I would now know to tell them you'd appreciate your drink arriving BEFORE your meal. We will be back!!! It's really that good!!! Presentation is really unique and picture ready. I hope they never change!!

What a hidden gem in Grass Valley! This cozy, family-owned Thai restaurant at 149 South Auburn Street in Grass Valley, CA blew me away. The wife, originally from Thailand, cooks every dish with so much love -- fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and portions that feel like a homemade feast. Beyond the incredible food, the owners make you feel like family. I walked in hungry and left full, happy, and already planning my next visit. If you love authentic Thai food, this place is a must!

Tantan Man Ramen

I've visited this spot with my friend a few times now, and the ramen has been my favorite every time. The portions are great, with tender pork belly and a flavorful broth. I like spice, and the chili oil isn't as hot as I'd prefer, they always have something to kick it up if you ask.

Some things are just too good to last. Sadly this place is one of them…read more **LOCATION & DECOR** The decor hasn't changed--wooden floors, brick walls, high ceilings, and sparse seating. It's always been minimal yet warm, but something felt off this time and the one before. The usual calming video of California waves was missing, replaced with a blank wall and '50s oldies music that completely clashed with the vibe. It felt disconnected from what usually made this place so special. **FOOD & DRINK** Ramen: Severely under-seasoned and watery. What used to be a flavorful, hearty bowl now feels lackluster and uninspired. Wakame Salad: The portion was noticeably smaller--20-30% less than usual. Not what I've come to expect from this place. PRICE: $$ I've always been willing to pay premium pricing for the quality, atmosphere, and service, but this time, it just didn't deliver. **SWAG/AMENITIES** - Cozy and unique decor (still a plus) - Menu variety for tea and ramen lovers - Used to have a calming atmosphere (not this time) **STAFF & EXPERIENCE** This is where things really fell apart. The service was slow from the start--30 minutes for drinks, 40+ minutes for ramen. The servers were dry, unpersonable, and barely engaged with us. They didn't introduce themselves or try to make any connection. It's hard not to miss Jenna, who was always warm, kind, and inviting. She had a way of making the experience unforgettable, and maybe even made the food taste better! **FINAL THOUGHTS** Mantra Tea House used to be my favorite spot in town. I came here regularly, twice a month, and never thought I'd feel this let down. The food, service, and atmosphere have all taken a dive, and it's just not the same place I fell in love with. Sadly, I think this was my last visit.

I loveddd the vibes in here with the brick wall and spacious feel. The service was nice as well…read more The food was a bit disappointing for the price... I ordered the shrimp ramen which I believe was $24!! came with 4 shrimps, head off and the broth was so watery and under seasoned I was really bummed!! Their crab cakes were pretty good but also expensive $23 I believe for appetizer, very small portion just one crab cake drinks were cheaper. I would come back here just to drink tea or sake but food was meh for the price. Wish they would make it $12 for the ramen or add some more toppings/seasonings if they want to keep the price.... It's Bay Area prices lacking the flavor

It was $14 and was completely forgettable. The bowl wasn't any where near full. The miso soup was bland. We got the quinoa added and it was totally forgettable. Said it would have green pea and sunflower shoots, but we had none. There were some green onions slices floating around on the top. We ordered two dishes to share and this one didn't fit the bill as a shareable item. For the disappointment we had in the miso it was totally made up by the vegan kale cesar salad. It was a large bowl of yum! Hearty serving of well dressed kale. The Cesar dressing delicious! Slices of cucumber, avocado and chick peas and a beautiful thick slice of bread on top. It was so filling we easily shared it and filled us up. It was $15 only a dollar more than miso broth bowl. It's was so worth every penny. The service was friendly and fast. It's a pick your own table place, which means one usually has to wipe their table down for crumbs. We don't mind. It's a cute place. We found parking fairly easy. Commercial street being blocked off to traffic is nice.

Automatically taking in the ambience of the restaurant, it felt really clean and has a nice dim light that makes the dining experience feel private. The service was very attentive and they'll do a temperature check on how the food is with you after you receive your meal and they were all genuinely very friendly. 10/10 for the service, no doubt. For food, we ordered their "Fukumi Ramen" and their chicken karaage . Chicken karaage came out first and was freshly fried. The coating was amazingly light and the chicken itself was flavorful. It comes served with a lemon wedge and tiny pieces of salad and the dressing in the salad was delicious! For the Fukumi Ramen bowl itself, the initial taste of the broth was flavorful and the black garlic oil was a nice touch. You'll immediately notice how thickkkk their chasu slices are and I think the free order of extra noodles is a nice plus. However, the thin noodles served with the Fukumi Ramen bowl seemed like a lighter color than I normally see at ramen places and the noodles were overcooked so I feel like it obscured the overall taste of the ramen itself since ramen noodles make up so much of the bite. Even though the extra noodles were free and a nice complimentary addition, I feel like I could tell why because the ramen noodles lacked the quality the rest of the bowl had. The tamago egg was decent and I was surprised because it looked like a plain white boiled egg rather than the traditional brown seasoned egg you get in ramen. Overall, I think Fukumi Ramen can do the job of satisfying a cold rainy day, and I think with their wide variety of ramen options, you'll definitely have to try and find one that might hit for you! Portions are huge here too so it might take a couple visits to try more options!

Happy Mother's Day!!…read more Today for Mother's Day, we decided to celebrate with my neighbor and have the best sushi in town here at Jinme. Jinme is consistent. Delicious every single time... so tonight, we celebrated with my daughter. We sat right away and how gorgeous was it tonight!? Balloons, streamers, and Mother's Day table cloths. After a little bit, our server came over and we ordered sunomono and vegetable tempura. Their vegetable tempura was a mixture of the vegetables, in one. Like a birds nest. It came with 4 pieces and a dipping sauce. It was different, but very good. The sunomono (cucumber salad) was cut in half into thin slices without the seeds, and the dressing on it was delicate and went so good with the cucumbers. Quite a bit of time had passed and we were given some complimentary spring rolls to snack on. The sauce it came with was a little spicy & sweet. We ordered a Simba roll, Auburn City roll, 49ers Roll, the Ultimate Roll, and salmon sashimi. All looked fantastic! The sashimi came with miso (as an appetizer). We will ended up sharing everything with each other. I really like that baked salmon roll (Simba). It has a sweet mayo on top. The Salmon Sashimi is my favorite bc the salmon on top is made with high quality salmon belly. The freshness makes me crave this often. The 49ers roll was delicious. It was different from your regular sushi rolls with rice in the outside. it had an entire cucumber casing on the outside of it. The Auburn Roll has thick pieces of red rings and salmon throughout... what a dream... Lastly, we ordered moochi ice cream and deep fried strawberry ice cream... both were out of this world!! This was the first time I have ordered dessert here and it was phenomenal! Strawberry just gets me! Our service was great! The decorations were a cute touch, too. Jinme went above and beyond to make us feel special on Mother's Day!

Ordered 2 ramens and a beer, but the beer was never brought out; notified the waiter/manager about it and he took it off the check which was great. He also offered us and other tables a small sampler plate of the chicken katsu which was delicious. The thing that ticked me was when our ramens came out, we tried the broth and it was nice, but my bf shortly noticed we didn't have any eggs. Took quite a while for staff to notice us for us to call them over. Once we told the waiter (not the guy that brought tables the katsus) he asked us which ramens we ordered to see if they come with eggs, *All of them come with eggs except for kids ramen* and then he asked if we were sure it wasn't there and if it wasn't just buried under our ramen. We were looking at him with our ramen bowls still full to the top shuffling around our noodles to prove to him there's no eggs. Like i get mistakes happen, I wasn't upset about the beer, the no water refills, or the egg missing; it was just the way that waiter questioned us about it that made the meal sour. The food was good, but that interaction with that staff made us realize we could just go to one of the other fukumi restaurants bc the only difference to us was the service. *I even took a photo of the ramen before we realized the eggs were missing

The restaurant was not busy when we walked in (about 2-3 tables) but it got busier afterwards. Due to the restaurant not being super busy, they only had one employee waiting on us and the initial wait for our food was about 15-20 minutes. Later on, it appeared more staff came in and additional ordered items appeared faster. Items ordered: Green tea- great nutty flavor and perfect for fellow green tea lovers! Free refills Spicy cucumber - they used Persian cucumbers and this was a small dish. Taste was fine but I prefer the Northern Chinese style spicy cucumber over this one (if you compare these two dishes) Garnet Ramen - Good dish and delicious broth! Hubby enjoyed this. Pearl Ramen - I really enjoyed the clear broth and subtle but good mix of flavors. I preferred these noodles over the Garnet as these are thinner. Quartz Ramen - The creamy broth was my second favorite and the amount of chicken, fried onions, and broccolini were a nice touch. Kid's chicken karaage x2 - kids enjoyed this a lot Kids' Ramen- this came with just noodles, corn, and broth (your selection). Kiddo enjoyed the Quartz broth, so we selected Quartz.
