I have seen Dr. Valpey, Dr. Chang's partner at Highline Sleep Disorder Center. The doctor is great! I really liked that he offered options other than just using my BiPAP (which gives me anxiety and then I can't sleep). And he wanted to test for some other stuff besides complex sleep apnea, which I had already been Dx'd with at Creekside Sleep Medicine. He confers with Dr. Chang, so it made me feel confident that there were two very smart people working on my case, and I felt hopeful for the first time in a few years.
The main problem here is the sleep facility. When I came in for the sleep study I was severely disappointed in the room, especially the bed!! It's located in the newer building next to Highline Community Hospital, so I had assumed it would be a cozier atmosphere than a sterile hospital. It was not cozy at all! And the Sleep Number bed was so unbearably hard and uncomfortable, I could not fall asleep that night! I didn't realize that Sleep Number beds are basically just air mattresses. Letting the air out doesn't make it any softer. I don't think the bed would be so bad if they added those foam egg crate things to them.
What a waste of money!! Now, I don't qualify for another sleep study for a whole year (because of my insurance) and we didn't get good info on my disorder.
I would like to continue to see Dr. Valpey & Dr. Chang, but I can't possibly sleep at that facility. read more
