Beautiful bar, old Hollywood vibes - heck I met a real-life Broadway Star!! I could have sat at that bar eating sushi & drinking martinis (shout out to James!) for a couple hours.
Service experience was the WORST that I experienced all weekend - I hold management responsible for not pulling staff with bad attitudes from the section sooner.
Melvin truly ruined the experience- a total buzz kill. Receiving service from someone who clearly did not want to be there was not only uncomfortable but took away from the charm of the ambiance (especially sad as this was our last stop in town). My friends & I were planning on being at the bar for 3+ drinks then hitting the casino, Melvin's ATTITUDE put a stop to that.
I don't typically leave negative reviews but needed to flag Melvin's poor service and whatever management allowed this to happen. As someone with industry experience, I'm surprised Fairmont staffed someone in their center bar who was clearly not having a good day - no justification for his belittling & rudeness. I should not have to work so hard to give you $, and I certainly didn't appreciate the sleight of hand he tried to pull with credit cards.
I'm choosing to believe this experience with Melvin and Management is a blessing. Saved me $$$$$$$
