The smell on the street before coming into the restaurant made me know it was gonna be legit. I got the half smoked chicken and it was so so flavorful and delicious. I am a rib snob. I compete in barbecue competitions and I'm very picky about my barbecue. I am visiting from SOUTH FLORIDA and met Angel after stumbling across this place. Sauces and rubs are all homemade in Shop and the ribs are simply amazing. The fries are also homemade with skin on potatoes and as such are excellent as well, but a little soggy. We went late last night like 45 minutes before they closed. Which I don't like to do because that can be annoying. However they served us with so much care and love. The bartender was holding it down for the bar and our table (I wish I could remember her name I know it states with J). She was very attentive and professional, Super friendly and warm. you can tell by the service of the other tables that they all put great care into their work. And to top it all off the food was so good. We split the brisket plate, side of Mac and tostones side of garlic. It was all really good. When I read the menu in Yelp all I saw at first was cocktails and beer. Then I got to the food part and it sounded mouth-watering. I was sold; my only concern was whether the place was kid-friendly. When we got there we saw a few kids and they also have a kids menu. The food is amazing! The brisket and burguers were great, and the mofongo was to die for! My daughter said the Mac 'n cheese was one of the best she's ever had. If you do order this for a child, be aware it comes with crumbs sprinkled on top, and my daughter wasn't a fan. After a long day at the beach, we came here for dinner. Our last meal in PR was absolutely fantastic. I wish I would've taken pictures before we started eating. We had a whole chicken "a la brasa." Mash of the day was masked potatoes and carrots. Another two sides were Mac and cheese and a whole corn. My husband and sister in law had the Texas burger which had hamburger meat and brisket. Every single thing was delicious and so filling. The flavors were entrancing. They are huge portions, so I would recommend sharing. The place was clean and the service was excellent. Wow, this place is an experience. It has the feel of a butcher shop that wanted to open a restaurant next door (since there is a super quality butcher next door). So, I wanted to surprise my husband with a new 'meaty' experience and we first passed to Cut (a butcher shop beside barbacoa), bought a Cowboy Cut and for $10 at Barbacoa they cook the meat of your selection. The menu is very varied and some items aren't smoked but everything was intriguing. We ordered the smoked guacamole and it was good. Tortilla chips are in-made (home made) and they were good. I ordered a Ribeye Steak medium with Mamposteao rice and yellow plantain - it was exquisitely deadly rich! My teenager girl ordered the Ginger Thai Chicken Wings plus the rainbow grilled cheese, it was really good! Last but not least, my husband's Cut was a medium well Cowboy steak it was amazingly delicious! All cuts were good and delicious! For drinks we had the locally puertorrican brew Ocean Lab Beers, delicious. I had a Mudslide - amazingly rich!!! Two thumbs way up!
