We bought chairs for outdoor games which were very good prices and they last a long time. They have reasonable prices for all your sporting needs. Mouth guards, basketballs, cups, bikes, hoops, sports clothing and more. The staff is always helpful when we need and they greet you as you walk in. We came here to compare prices for a hoop which we saw better elsewhere but overall, not bad.

4/7/2026 I purchased 2 pairs of Nikes. One of them was a pair of Nike REAX, mens size 8. I had…read morethem picked up from the store by a delivery service, I don't drive. I got the shoes, opened the REAX and they are worn, dirty and stained. There is white paint or something similar on the bottoms, on the side and top, there is what looks like splattered Cola or coffee. The laces are dirty and the inside of the shoe has fuzz and dirt. I IMMEDIATELY called the Manchester store and "Wayne" answered in the shoe department. He was 10,000% extremely unhelpful, rude and very off putting with his attitude. He blamed it on the delivery service I used, my response was they dont work for Academy, they are a delivery company. He then says well what do you want me to do about it? So I hung up and called to talk to a manager. The manager "James" was worse than the first guy, so apparently I was going to get no where with him either. So here I am, stuck with worn, dirty Nikes that I paid 100$ for! NEVER WILL I RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY NOR WILL I EVER SPEND ONE MORE CENT WITH THEM.....​​

I don't remember the name of the gal who helped us, but she was great! She was very knowledgeable about the various brands/styles they carried. She was also friendly and personable. My daughter was asked to do something on two pieces of equipment (for lack of a better word). This gave the staff member information that helped her narrow down what shoes would be best for my daughter. There had already been questions asked about what the shoes would be used for, etc. A few different brands and sizes were brought out and tried on and walked around in. Pros and cons were discussed and a shoe was chosen. A lot happened while we were there, but it didn't take a long time and things kept moving. We were never sitting there waiting for long periods of time. I've been to buy athletic shoes at another well known store and the process takes entirely too long. I'll try Fleet Feet next time!

Instead-it was quick and easy and here is what a customer wants to see when he turns the corner in to your store- a smiling employee standing on station (just inside store) waiting to receive customers-making eye contact,being personable and well spoken- that is exactly what quortney did(sorry I prob goofed name but prob 28 year old African American w piercings) I was crabby going in but she made it impossible to stay that way, made the exchange very quick and easy and no hassle. She engaged my kids and talked about music and about t shirts in store which we ended up buying two of. The store was clean and nobody was texting on their phone or doing anything other than engaging customers or cleaning the store while we were in there.
