Super Joe! My ride got knicked and needed some repainting given the fact that it was chipped near the wheel well. Having had some issues in the past with repainting and not being satisfied with the results from another body shop I wasn't thrilled to be going through this process. Knowing how there is a difference between the look of painted metal and plastic components, I was initially very nervous. The metallic paint job on my car also adds some difficulty in matching the existing paint as well. Enter Joe, the head man at Champion Collusion. I was even nervous still having never gone to Joe before and not having any references. I must say I am very satisfied. That's something I really don't think I'd ever say at a collision shop. Nobody likes to have to goto a collision shop. Nobody likes to pay a collision shop. Nobody likes to be without their car for a week. Nobody likes to feel like they didn't get what they paid for at a collision shop. But Joe is the real deal here and took a lot of time to talk to me and steer me towards the right decision. Management at this place is horrible, I happen to live two blocks away so I decided to bring in my car to get an inspection, with an appointment. The first person in the front happens to be the manager, I have to say was the rudest person. I walked in politely asked regarding my appointment, apparently they didn't put my name down on the book, luckily I remember the person who took down my appointment, when I mentioned his name, the manager just brushed me off and said he's on break, told me I have to come back in an hour if I wanted to speak to him. He gave such a snobby attitude, like he doesn't want my business or something, I would never come back here or refer anyone this place with such service. They were super informative, from updating me on the timing the car would be fixed, to what was damaged and would need repair. Not once did I feel left in the dark. They were super fast in fixing my car. They told me it would be done in a week and it certainly was! They also have a great relationship with enterprise rental car, so they were on top of the process of helping me getting picked up and dropped off by the rental company. So I had my right side view mirror hit off the other day and I brought it to Joe at Champion Collision. He took me right away and welcomed me right in where it wasn't freezing like outside. Within minutes all of the information was taken down and a new side view mirror was ordered. That same day I had a brand new side view mirror!!! I can finally see the right side of my 2011 Chevy Suburban and the new mirror looks great. Excellent and stupendous customer service/attentiveness. I went to Champion Collision to replace 2 hinges on my door which was dropping. I paid for the service to replace the hinges, and I asked for a receipt. I was told by Joe, the owner, that if I wanted a "regular receipt", he would have to charge me twice as much and he would also charge me sales tax! I was unaware that Champion Collision does not collect Sales Tax for New York State and NYC, and I certainly didn't want to be charged twice as much than I was quoted. So Joe gave me his business card, where he had had written in tiny letters, "4-6-18 Door Repair 350 Mustang Joe". Joe then gave me the bums rush out of his repair shop. I regret not insisting on a real receipt since I paid with real money. As I drive away, I realize that my window on the door Joe repaired no longer closes. So I return to Champion Collision, where I was told by Joe that my power window switch is bad and I have to leave him my car. While explaining to Joe that I needed my car that evening, Joe was taking phone calls and was too busy to give me his complete attention. Nonetheless, I agreed to pay for a new power window switch and return with my car the next day. I left Champion Collision thinking who does that? Who breaks something else (my window from going up and down) while fixing something else (my door hinges), and then lets you leave their repair shop without telling you? Apparently, Joe at Champion Collision and Response Towing Service does exactly that !!!! I took my car directly to my auto mechanic and I was told there was nothing wrong with my power window switch as Joe from Champion Collision had claimed. Instead, my mechanic charged me $200 for fixing the wire to my power window that Champion Collision broke while replacing my door hinges!!!! So called to make an appointment to have a photo inspection done for my car. I called said "Hello I'd like to make..", immediately got yelled at to hold on. Okay, figured they were busy. Was sent to another person. Repeated myself, this time actually being able to finish my statement, "Good morning id like to make an appointment for a photo inspection". Got even more attitude on the phone than the first person "next available is next Friday", as I repeated for clarification while simultaneously looking at my schedule for my availability, not even a whole 60 seconds passed until the person on the phone barked "you can call the other places on the list". I got so frustrated I told them "have a great day" and hung up. I truly want to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was busy at 8:30am but If they do not want do photo inspection as a service then don't offer it. Extremely unprofessional, so much attitude on the phone and was really looking forward to going to this place due to it being walking distance to my house. read more
