    Chicken dinner all white

Whenever I have a chicken craving, this is my go to place! Always consistent, hot and tasty chicken. The fries are just standard and nothing to write home about but the chicken makes up for it. The coleslaw is pretty good too. It was supposed to come with custard but it seem to have been forgotten this trip and my prior trip as well. But, got my chicken fix and I'm good for a while.

Champion Chicken is a solid, neighborhood place to have fried ("broasted") chicken dinner. It is a unique, home-made style of fried chicken, IMO. Not greasy. Good sized pieces. I've never had a bad meal here. The location has a large, carry-out area in the front of the restaurant, separate from the dining room. The dining room looks like an old style, woodsy/cabin like place from the '60's and it probably hasn't been remodeled since then, but it is clean and has plenty of booths to sit in. They also have counter seating. For side dishes, there plenty of choices including but not limited to salads, cole slaw, baked potato, mashed potato and two different styles of potato salad. They don't have a dedicated cocktail bar to sit at, but they do have full liquor service, a plus! Any time I've been here, I've had good, efficient and friendly service from the wait staff. The location has quite a few parking spaces in their private lot, and open, un-metered street parking in front.

Don't waste your time. Showed up and the dude wasn't even looking at the register. Chatting with the cook. Had to shout to get his attention after 5 minutes waiting to order. The wait for chicken tenders and fries was like 20 minutes with only one other customer in line. We saw someone open some packaging with their teeth after not being able to get it open with a knife. The food itself was hot but nothing at all special. $17 for two dinners of chicken tenders and fries (no drink). We should have just gone to McDonald's....

Psst.....*whisper* My brother in-law suggested Champion Chicken today for lunch, he lives down the street. It is one of Milwaukee's best hidden chicken treasures. The locals know it, and share this info by word of mouth. They are low tech simpletons and blue hairs j/k. They get the news the old fashioned way by newspaper, and they like it that way. Internet, E-mail? Eh! Whats that? Plenty of beers on draft, spotted cow included. Any homemade Soups and chicken would have been my first choice at champion chicken but this Friday we were going to try champion fish. I had the fish dinner, 3 nice sized pieces of battered fish along with hot tasty fries, coleslaw and roll. I'm not usually a fan of creamy coleslaw but I was surprised since this was crisp fresh and not overly creamy with good flavor. Now the baked fish was a little smaller and the cheeseburger looked good as well. Service was good. Not to busy so I felt like yelping. Since they only had two reviews? I think my cover has been compromised... I took a photo *sneaky laugh* I got to go.... Nothing to see here...move along... Bye.

The staff was helpful, professional and very efficient throughout the entire evening. We had so much positive feedback on the food that evening- everyone loved the apple cider glaced short ribs, blackened swordfish and the supper club style relish trays. They were also very accommodating with phone calls instead of in-person meetings with us not living in the same city. For the rehearsal dinner we set up a buffet and the food was great! Many of our guests were going up for seconds and told us how good the food was. We went with their burger and chicken bar and there was not only plenty of food but the set up and takedown process after the event was handled with great professionalism and timeliness. For our wedding reception we could not be happier with Saz's as well! All the staff were professional and the food was amazing. We decided to go with hand passed apps for cocktail hour, family style dinner, and then a late night nacho bar. Our family and friends were going on about how great the food was and how many options they had to choose from. We would definitely recommend Saz's for anyone with either small group catering needs or a larger event/wedding reception! Thank you Katie and the Saz's team!

I chose prix fixe for four people. We chose to do ham, classic stuffing, maple carrots, pimento mac and cheese and rolls. The menu said mashed potatoes/gravy and salad were included in this choice. Pickup was pretty slick, not many cars in the queue and employees had all food pre-boxed up and ready to go. I drove the 25 minutes over there, got my box, and drove the 25 minutes home. Then I noticed that they omitted my salad. I called them and they said I could drive back out there for the salad... so I did. (in total i spent 100 minutes in the car going back and forth to get the food. On the day of thanksgiving we realized that they gave us the wrong stuffing as well. The ham was measured out by pound and we got 2 lbs for four people - which would have been fine if 60% of it wasn't fat! We ended up putting more in the dog bowl than on our plates. The reheating instructions stated that we needed to put all the food in the oven covered to reheat it, and they gave us paper lids??? So then I had to use a bunch of foil to cover all the items. The mac and cheese (which is made with penne?) had no pimentos in it (i figured the red pimentos would be easy to see) but it didn't get any love as it was BONE dry pasta noodles. Bummer. The mashed potatoes, [forgotten] salad, and carrots were good, though the carrots were devoid of any maple flavors. For $200 we all just expected more. Just another case of restaurants over-selling to the point of mixing up too many things. I probably wouldn't order from them again.

The flavor of the au jus was incredible and it was nice to be able to dip and pour a little on top as I gobbled down. I also got the tomato salad and marinated mozzarella. The tomatoes were super fresh and juicy and all of the vegetables were crunchy and fresh! I only got one cucumber slice but at the same time I also ordered the smallest size so that's just how the cookie crumbled in terms of ratios. The mozzarella might have been the best I've ever had. The seasoning on the outside was amazing and the freshness and moisture was absolutely perfect. I tried the pizza slice at Brady st fest and it was pretty solid. The sauce had a slight sweetness to it and there was a very nice cheese to sauce to crust ratio. I love a good thick layer of cheese and this definitely had it! I was surprised to enter and find their shelves all nearly empty. They had signs and it seems as though their business is struggling and they're currently prioritizing the meat counter and deli. Fortunately, we were primarily there for their deli. That said, something to note, this isn't a store I'd stop in thinking I might be able to get a few shelf staples. Their shelves were bare. I went to the deli and clearly the word is out on their chicken salad. They have a sign that explains they are limiting customers to two pounds of chicken salad due to high demand. We got a pound of that, a pound of their mustard potato salad, and a pound of their deilved egg potato salad. The chicken salad was really good. One thing I loved about it was the texture. It was finely shredded which I prefer. It was well seasoned and wasn't overly mayo-y. Of the two potato salads, I thought prefer the deviled egg potato salad. It was good but a bit plain for me. The mustard potato salad, on the other hand, was great with just the right amount of mustard and seasoning. The service was lovely and the prices were reasonable. Get to it.

The company has been around since 2005 and offers a wide variety of options that could please anyone. My friends went with the tacos and I'm really glad they did. Two options of tortilla were offered, soft corn and flour. Both were tasty and super soft, but the flour edged out the corn for me. Good things come in pairs and two types of phenomenal cheese sauces were also offered, nacho cheese and a white queso. With all that sauce I still managed to add a little tangy sour cream. Both beef and chicken were offered as fillings. I obviously went with the beef (without going on too much of a tangent my longtime followers know I'm allergic to an antibiotic used in poultry and I didn't want to chance that the chicken meat was from 100% antibiotic free chickens), which was juicy, tender, and flavorful. My tacos were pretty packed, but I also managed to get a small amount of beans in them too. As if the cheese sauces weren't enough, I topped my tacos with a sprinkling of cheese like a true Wisconsinite. I initially went with one taco of each tortilla and paired each with a different cheese. They were so delicious I had to go back for one more though! Doughboy approved. I decided I could take care of the sides and would have Ball n' Biscuit do the main dishes. Ordered the BBQ jackfruit sliders and Italian tofu sausages for 50 people...so that ended up being one chafing dish worth of food and our total was a little over $400! In truth, it was my fault because she did quote me on it and I should've just walked away at that point, but I didn't..like a fool I said okay. Once I realized how little that actually is, I kind of felt like I got screwed...I mean seriously jackfruit is like $1.50 a can... The Italian sausages were just warmed up in marinara with some peppers and onions, it was good but not great or anything. Just for persepctive, I considered another party I had last year for about 50 people...exactly the same menu, but with actual Italian sausages and beef instead of jackfruit... catered by Bunzel's and it clocked in just around $200! So yeah, I did think this was really on the spendy side. Another thing that kind of irritated me was she didn't come and pick up the chafing dish for like a week.. Leaving it for 1 to 3 days would have been acceptable, but 7 days is not. I didn't want to have a dirty chaffing dish sitting in my back hallway for that long...and yes, it remained dirty because why would I hire a caterer if I wanted to do dishes?? What is the point? Maria was very nice, but just way to expensive for what you actually get. Wasn't impressed and would not recommend for a big event.
