On some days Champ donut is a solid 5 stars, but there have been some troubling inconsistencies that diminish my overall perception of them and it feels like a gamble for me at times. First, let's talk about the good. Champ Donut has great tasting donuts and a wide assortment of specialty varieties. Some are picture perfect and great for posting on Social Media. I'm a donut purist and mostly stick to glazed, however, I've tried some of the more fancy styles they have here like the Creme Brûlée donut and they're good, but I really just prefer to stick to the classics. Champ Donut also has a variety of smoothies and Boba Teas. I tried the Passionfruit Smoothie and it is the kind made from a powder with milk. It tastes fine, but it's too sweet for my liking. The issues I have with the inconsistencies at Champ Donut are with food handling. I've had two instances where I've had croissant sausage rolls, and they tasted like the dough had absorbed the scent of Fabuloso. I'm thinking the dough is not stored airtight. Another time, I purchased a bottle of milk here and it was sour even though it had not yet expired. I think some attention to food storage and handling would bring Champ up to the five stars I know they are capable of. Great location for a donut shop. It's a pretty busy area near Buccee's in Fort Worth, TX. Space is clean and items are encased in glass enclosing in an orderly manner. Prices are reasonable but here's the thing. I purchased a glazed twist and six cronuts. I was disappointed with both. The glazed twist was extremely heavy and doughy. It was not the light weight donuts usually have. It was so heavy that it leaned as I held it in my hand. The taste was okay though. The cronuts were a different story. They were a light, flaky texture but the glaze had an aftertaste I did not like at all. So much so I had no desire to finish the last five. Truly, the CHAMPION of donuts in far north Fort Worth! I am so happy that we found Champ Donut! This is a little bit out of the way for most, located right across the street from Texas Motor Speedway and Buc-ee's, but so worth the little drive! The place itself is pretty small, but super duper cute! Lots of cozy decor, and definitely enough room to sit down and have your donuts with some coffee or milk. On display are some of the prettiest donuts ever! They make an array of classic flavors, rings, bars, cake, donut holes, but what we come here for is the specialty donuts. I have too many favorites here, but one of my top faves is the lemon poppyseed. The donut itself is light and airy, has great lemony flavor with the glaze as well as the addition of a generous dot of lemon curd in the center. Then topped with a fluffy almost marshmallowy topping with a lemon wedge (which I also squeeze all over the donut because I can never get enough lemon lol!) SO GOOD! I also love the Creme Brûlée donut! Has a nice, hard, shiny, caramelized sugar top that you break through just like an actual Creme Brûlée! The filling is decadent and not too sweet, honestly a lovely combo! The cronuts here are also some of the better ones I've had. Super buttery and airy! The layers inside are beautifully defined compared to others I've tried and again fabulous toppings and flavors. So i don't know how long cronuts have been around, i happen to see them about 2 years ago. No donut shop near me makes them. I see that they only have them up north Mcninney, little elm, and that all that area well at least from what I know. I saw this place last time since I work in the area and googled them, to my surprise they make cronuts there, and in many variations. I saw the cronut holes and automatically had to have a half dozen. I also saw this strawberry cronutella just staring at me. It chose me so I had to get it. 10/10 they were freaking delicious. I don't get why other donut shops around me don't catch up to this. The only thing that I experienced that was ehh was the customer service. I as a customer chose to come In and spend my money there. Now I know we are all human and we have our days. But the lady that attended me just seemed unhappy to be there, now I do have to say she was expecting and the baby bump was decent size as if she was near her due date. I don't expect a high energy or anything like that it's just as a Plumber I strive to provide great customer service and i expect somewhat of an attempt. But she may have things going on in her life and I'm not bashing her because I saw my wife go through three pregnancies and I can only imagine how she feels. The donuts here are amazing! My sister in law and I went first thing in the morning to get some of these goodies. The cafe was small, but enough size to sit if you wanted to sit in there and eat. They offer coffee, smoothies and also boba. The service was great, we did not have to wait long to be helped. We ordered regular glazed donuts, chocolate peanut donuts, and some specialty donuts with nutella and strawberry. This is a great addition to the area. This isn't just your regular donut shop, although if that's what you like, they've got you covered. However if you want something a little extra special, this is your place. We did get the classic but we also got the cronut with cream cheese frosting and berries, the snicker donut, Cronut holes, and kolaches just to name a few. I brought these to a friend for Mother's Day and she and her family absolutely loved them. They said that they were delicious and immediately wanted t know where I found them. My strawberry and keylime pie "special donuts" were very tasty even at 3pm when I got them. I do not know when they came out the fryer but they were soft and the cream was not too sweet. The keylime pie one comes with a filling inside that was not too sweet which is perfect for me. I can not justify these being $3 level donuts tho, maybe at a lower price, it can be reasonable. The taro was quite good, not too powdery which is my experience with other shops most of the time. I feel like there could be juuust a little more boba pearls. So I'm not going to lie but this place is kind of a knock off of Hurts Donuts. Which is fine with me cuz they're closer. Lol. I came here for the first time quickly a couple of weeks ago and received the same great service with different people. The donuts were soft and delicious with so many great options to choose from. The only thing was the first time I came, the lady at the register told me I'd save more money by getting a half dozen which I did plus a dozen donut holes. This time I ordered the same half dozen plus a dozen donut holes and there was a $3 difference. Even the register lady said she was having trouble pricing what I picked (mixture of 3 reg donuts and 3 specialty donuts). Anywhoooo, I'm pretty sure I was overcharged the second time but my young son had to pee very badly and there was someone in the bathroom that apparently ate a bad donut cuz they were not coming out anytime soon so needless to say, I didn't have time to question it. Went in around 5:55am. They open at 5:30 on sundays. They had less than half of the donuts ready so we had very limited options. When we asked for an oreo donut the person serving us was hesitant and asked "Are you sure you want this because i have to decorate it." She only had to put whipped cream and an oreo on it... but seemed bothered by the task. When asked for a specific donut at the end she finally took her headphone out so she could hear better but still gave us the wrong donut. We had also purchased the kolache there but bitting into it the bread was hard and not good. I don't like leaving bad reviews but the service there was unwelcoming and to not be ready at opening time is understandable sometimes but at least be apologetic or show some sort of remorse. We used to buy from here often, its close to home and work, but after just starting a morning before work off with that sort of disappointment makes us not want to continue going here. read more

I was really excited when this donut spot opened up, a perfect location especially on my commute every morning! I happened to pop in today seeing that they had boba on their menu and wanted to give it a try. I ordered the classic milk tea with no boba and the drink was below average so if you're coming looking to fulfill a milk tea craving, I wouldn't suggest it. But of course this is a donut shop first and foremost and the donut variety is really nice and there's a well established menu. The donuts themselves are what you would expect of a donut with their twist on the different flavors they offer! This place is sooo cute. The donuts are unique and each have a name. You can actually get special occasion donuts here per request like for birthdays, baby showers, or even just because. If you need more than 3 dozen donuts, you'll have to call to request beforehand. The drinks are in a unique cup also. Lots of thought has gone into the packaging in my opinion from the bags to the cups. I'd recommend the smoothies! They are fresh and delicious. The glazed donut holes were okay, but not my favorite.
