We moved to Katy from san antonio where we grew up eating Tex-Mex food,and its our favorite.Here in katy we've foumd so many different Latin restaurants.Today we chose Chamo's Venezuelen restaurant.So our experience at Chamos was great.So happy they have a small mexican section on their menu.I recommend the Pirata plate.2 Delicous Steak tacos with cheese,avacado and onions in it with beans on the side.Service was excellent.We received our food promptly considering the restaurant wasn't full because we arrived before the lunch hour rush.Again,i only tried the Pirata plate and it was delicous!We will be returning to try Pollo a la plancha. read more

I've never had venezualan food before but this place is quite delicious! and if this is what their cuisine taste like then they've got a life long fan in them. We ordered a whole chicken, which was basically a Venezuelan rotisserie chicken that came with some tortillas and rice and other sides. The chicken was juicy and everything was super fresh. We also ordered this mix plate with an arepa, sausage, plantain, and a steak. That was delightful. The meats were all very good, and my favorite part may have been an arepa. I will come back here again to try the other menu items! read more

Food was just alright. Rice was on the dry side. So was the pork belly. Little bit tough, dry and hard to chew. I did like the tequenos though. Customers beware though. Make sure to check to your receipts. We were overcharged. Always ask for a detailed receipt of what you ordered. They don't offer a receipt like typical restaurants are supposed to. They just tell you what your total is and assume you're just going to pay it without an accurate account of what was ordered. Um, no. I'm not a stickler about every little thing, but I don't like being taken advantage of. read more

My husband and I placed an order over the phone and got there a few minutes before they opened. We saw a guy outside (Wilmer) sweeping and since I had a crying baby in the car we decided to get down to distract her. Even though they weren't yet open he was super welcoming and friendly. Within minutes our order of tequeños and empanadas de carne mechada (shredded beef) were ready to go and did not disappoint. Everything was delicious and authentic (i'm Venezuelan, I know ;) )The sauces were great too. Can't wait to go back and try their very famous rotisserie chicken! PS. Excellent Venezuelan food and great customer service. We went on a Wednesday night with the kids and tried the Pabellón, the Tequeños, Bandeja Paisa and Chicken Plate. Everything was AWESOME! We were pleasantly surprised and highly recommend it. The Agua Panela was also awesome. read more

They have an excellent food it made me feel at home because the flavor it really similar of Venezuelan food but if they need to focus a little bit more in clean up because it was a little disorganized and some tables did't have the best clean up. read more

I went there with my sister and mom that were visiting from FL. Wanted to eat Venezuelan food. The menu looks good. We ordered "Arepa Cabimera", we are from Cabimas, we were totally disappointed. Please do not call it "Arepa Cabimera"!! because people that don't know how good the arepa cabimera is, will be dissapointed and won't want to hear about this delicious arepa anymore. What a BAD PLACE! I went for a chicken soup, paid for it and around 5 min later the cashier reach to me and tell me they have not done it. She reimbursed me the cash back but did not even ask me for another option. She just took a call and left me hanging. Also, the place was smelling really bad. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! We went on a Saturday night and to our pleasant surprise, they had no more chicken. This seems to be an ongoing issue at this place and the second time we've had this problem. Waitress was rude, rushed and no customer service, jugo de mora was tasteless and expensive but the picada was really the only thing we enjoyed. I would call before going to save you a trip and some time if you are going to order or having their chicken. read more
