Called into my home Warrenty company for repair on my refrigerator. Chambers came out a couple days later, found I needed a part. It was ordered the came back 2 days later. They charged my Warrenty company $356. My fridge was working for only a week before it stopped working again. Same problem. I called back in on Sat and was told that I couldn't get an appointment until Thursday. Meanwhile, I will lose about 150# of meat and all of the refrigerated food I'd just had to replace after the 1st incident. They will not make any priority to help me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND CHAMBERS SERVICES!!!!!! The representative on the line also was unprofessional and laughed at me when I tried to stress the importance of getting Shawn the tech back to my house today or tomorrow, as promised by my Warrenty company. The representative should be reprimanded for her unprofessionalism for telling me that my refrigerator was not a priority. Worst customer service to deal with. read more

You will be over charged. It cost $120 to get a technician out to my home. ZERO of those dollars are applied to parts or labor. They then spent 10 minutes removing a chunk of ice causing a blockage and then charged me an additional $100 for labor. So a small piece of ice cost me $220. I consider this to be a complete rip off. I will never use Chambers Services again. I recommend Dick VanDyke appliance world. They have a smaller service fee and they apply a large part of it to your labor. read more

Horrible customer service. Hung up on me when I called to let them know that there repair is failing. Loosing refrigerant probably since my freezer is running warm after a compressor install. Poor workmanship and poor customer service. Update I've changed this from a one star to a three star. I talked with management and they did send out a technician to fix the issue with my refrigerator. It's working great now after the technician spent an hour and 45 minutes fighting the issue with 2 calls to lg. I'm not sure why they keep the guy that hung up on me dealing with the public but that's on them every one else I've dealt with has been great. read more

If you value your home and the appliances in it, steer clear of Chambers. The technician that was sent to our home, Zach, broke parts on our washing machine and did not fasten the hose back where it needed to go which consequently flooded our entire upstairs. We are working on two months and the machine is still not fixed due to the technicians incompetence. The manager, Angel, has no management skill and has refused to take any responsibility for the mess her technician made. We are now having to work with our insurance and hope they are able to subrogate. I wouldn't recommend Chambers to my worst enemy. Save yourself the headache and your time by avoiding them at all costs. read more

Wrongly charged me a second deductible after sears sent two different technicians to work on a washer and dryer. There service people at first acted like they where all part of one team till came time to paying for the deductible. After spending hours on the phone Sears contacted them directly and they still would not drop the charges. They also refused to contact sears home warranty to try to fix the problem. Stating it was my problem even though they where contracted by sears! TO TOP IT OFF they never diagnosed the problem with my washer and had to contact another company to fix it. If you hire them and have a problem good luck you will just have to pay them or they will send you to collection! read more

Absolutely awful!!!!!! First off they tried to keep canceling all the apps they made. Then a tech came out to fix leaking washer. He said hose in back was loose(husband already checked hose, it wasn't loose) then my husband and I both told him it's leaking during rinse cycle. He didn't let it run through to the rinse cycle. He stated he was positive it was from the hose in the back. If it was leaking from the back, wouldn't there be water coming from the back? Water was leaking from the front of the washer. Tech left and I started a load of laundry, and guess what, started leaking again. So much for the "loose" hose. Then tech was telling us it didn't matter what temperature the water is, it would leak if it's hot or cold. OK I don't know where that came from, we didn't even mention the temp of the water. So called back and made an appt for Monday. Well another worker called off so moved it back for another 5 days. The staff are the rudest people I have ever dealt with. Have no clue on what they are doing. I called Lowes and whirlpool and they stared Chambers Services is the only company that they are contracted with in this area. I HIGHLY recommend do not buy from store if they use Chamber Services. It's one of the worst companies out there!!!!!! And they don't know what their doing!!!! read more

Beware of the "labor cost" flat rate, Called for dryer repair appointment, that went well. Service tech arrived on time and was professional, except for the mess. I mentioned cleaning out the vent which did not happen. He replaced a fuse, the dryer worked, and he said he didn't think the vent needed cleaning. Tech was here maybe a half hour, left a mess in the laundry room, did not clean out the vent and they charged me $175.00 labor charge. I asked to be invoiced and was told they don't do that, that I needed to pay immediately. After the repairman left I called and spoke to a rep, she said the labor is a flat rate, period. Could have been a half hour or all day, same rate. Wow, I own a business in Peoria and I never even thought of operating under a flat rate system. Reading the broacher there is mention of penalties for late payment, so maybe they do send invoices after all. I have no receipt for this transaction. Rep on the phone told me that a plugged vent is what usually blows this fuse and that I have a one-year warranty on parts and labor. Sure wish he had cleaned out the vent. If I ever call again, I will line up a whole day's work to get my monies worth. read more

When an expensive appliance fails while under warranty, the manufacturer will send out a repair company to fix it. The manufacturer chooses the repair company. In my case, it was Chambers. CHAMBERS: "For your convenience, we are happy to offer all day service appointments." ME: "What does that mean?" CHAMBERS: "We tell you what day we can come out, and we promise to give you 30 minutes warning before we arrive." ME: "Well, I work for a living, so in order to be available at my house with only 30 minutes warning, I'd essentially have to take the day off work. Can you give me a more specific window?" CHAMBERS: "I did. Maybe you missed it. I'll say it again. For your convenience, we are happy to offer all day service appointments." ME: "Well, that's meaningless. If I have to be available all day, it's not an appointment - it's a date. Can you give me a more specific timeframe at all?" CHAMBERS: "No. Sir, would you like your appliance serviced or not?" Anyway, we went on like this until I decided to just throw the fucking appliance away and buy a new one. In spite of mankind's many soaring achievements, somehow we Americans, and maybe others, accept this system of cheap, shitty made-to-be-broken and hard-to-be-fixed products in our homes, despite this system probably costing more in the long run. But the insult to that injury is that when the thing predictably breaks, a company like Chambers, who's only loyalty is to the manufacturers who feed them, treats the consumer not as a paying customer, but as a beggar who's blanket takes up too much room on the sidewalk. read more

We bought a new Maytag dryer from Menard's, paid a company to switch it over to LP, and now these guys have been out 7 times and still haven't fixed it. The second and third time, the guy showed up and said: "They gave me the wrong part", and left. How do you justify all that windshield time if you own a business?!!! So it's been about 3 months and we are still without a dryer. This last visit, the tech said we had to clean out the vent pipe. Um, it's already been disassembled and cleaned out, you should've checked before you opened your mouth! Meanwhile, we're still waiting for them to change more parts. Are they just waiting for the warranty to run out? Do I need to contact the Attorney General's office for possible fraud? I mean, the only people they are hurting are the Maytag shareholders at this point. Considering the cost to Maytag, it would've been cheaper for them to replace the appliance by now. And pay for the conversion to LP. I've worked service before. I know things can go sideways. But this doesn't appear to be that. This appears to be a company that is wasting good parts by making guesses. Perhaps they need to learn to troubleshoot better or hire people who can. read more

Waited 12 days for an appointment to fix washing machine. Technician came out and replaced the door lock on the lid (to fix the machine not draining and spinning out). He did not run it through a cycle to see that that fixed the issue. Said it was good to go. I ran a load of laundry and the machine was still broken. Called Chambers back and the soonest I could get an appointment was 8 days out. Do not use these guys!! What a joke! read more

Rude & inconsiderate Chambers did not understand the contracted benefits of my service contract! When asked to uphold the provisions of my service agreement contract they refused to provide service and I was then personally threatened. I was advised they would, "make my situation much worse." As an agent of my contracting company they are duty bound and I am a long standing happy customer of the original company. In our 50 year marriage having Chambers try to repair our washing machine was the worst experience my wife and I have been through. It took 3 visits and the problem still wasn't taken care of. The "technician" on one visit asked me to help him loosen a bolt and on another visit asked me for a wire coat hanger to work on my washing machine. When he came out a third time (10/29/21) he actually took a hammer to the machine and told me a 4th visit, with additional costs would be necessary. When I voiced my objection he began to scream at my wife and stating "This is not my fault. I didn't make this washing machine." Imagine having someone out to do a repair and you get screamed at. To make matters worse, he wouldn't stop mouthing off. I guess it made this low life feel like a man to scream at senior citizens. When my wife called to complain she actually got hung up on. Waited a week to have the service person come out to check my refrigerator. Because the unit started working again. Repair person said he does not know what's wrong with it. I paid American Home Shield 125 dollars. For the repair person come out for 3 minutes to tell me there was nothing he could do. The week before I lost most of the food in the refrigerator it just stopped working. He did not pull it out to check the back. He stood in front of it. Said I am sorry don't know what to tell you. I would have felt better if he had at least tried to see if there was a problem. So out a 125 dollars. Which would be fine. If he had tried to see if there was something in the back, or inside of it wrong. If I could give a lower rating then 1 star I would. read more

Our refrigerator and freezer went out and I paid $140 for a priority service call versus waiting almost a week for the next available appointment. Didn't have required part. The appointment to return with the part was over a away. After calling and explaining our dilemma, I was told this is their busy season. I will NEVER call nor recommend them again. I'm steaming as I contemplate emptying the entire contents of the refrigerator and throwing them away. I understand their situation but the lady I talked to never said the word "sorry." It was always "this is our busy season." Ok, knowing these situations would arise, why don't they have a relationship with some of their competitors to take these kinds of situations. This company should not be in business. They sent someone to fix my dishwasher. The guy had no idea what he was doing and kept interrupting me to ask for my help. He couldn't figure out how to turn the water off to the dishwasher so I turned off the main house water for him. But he kept insisting that the water to the dishwasher wasn't off and asking me to figure out how to turn it off. I called a manager who was equally unhelpful and they refused to finish the job and told me I needed to call a plumber. My plumber came and confirmed that the water to the dishwasher was off and that there was just a little water from the line coming out. So that cost me $100 for nothing. Then, Chambers had the nerve to send me a bill for not knowing what they were doing and refusing to finish the job. I called another company who completed the job with no problems. Terrible service in the Decatur area. The technician came out to work on a refrigerator at one of our rental properties that had a clogged drain causing ice to build up on the bottom of the freezer. In the process of the repair the technician broke the condenser fan. He then installed the incorrect fan blade purposely as a band aid. This caused everything in the fridge to freeze due to too much air flowing. The only solution they said was to wait a week for the correct part to come in. I ordered the part from Amazon, got it two days later and fixed it myself. Thanks for breaking something and leaving us to take care of our tenants on our own.To add insult, I just got a collections call from them after they said they had forgiven the invoice.That prompted me to add this review. read more

Both techs vaccinated, offered to put on masks. Office took down serial number and model, and gave instructions, they understood the problem after descriptions and inspection. Gave a competive quote for installation of part and clear instructions for fridge status at that time (off completely.) So far so good! I emptied and disinfected fridge for them as a courtesy. I understand the entire country is having supply issues. I look forward to calling them for all our service needs, now that I know they do more. Though based in Bloomington, they travel as far as Champaign. Appreciate the recomendation of Hamptons at Bradley and Mattis for other appliance needs. Repair people get all kinds of grief, treat people how you would want to be treated. Also if you are worried about food spoiling, Amazon got a light weight freezer to our door in 24 hours for $200 and an RV fridge freezer ( plugs into car as well) for about the same. read more

I did find it surprising that the service call of $89 was on top of the $125 labor and the parts cost. I found them to be very expensive due to that. I had an oven that was covered under an extended warranty and when if broke, Chambers was contracted by the warranty to do the repair. It took them 4 times to finally get my repair done correctly. The person would come out, make a random guess at what was wrong then swap out a part. Nope, that didn't work, maybe its this part. I'll have to order that. I'd wait a few days for the part to arrive, then every time it would take them another 2 weeks to come back for the repair. After 2 months of this I finally told the guy to get out some tools and diagnosis the problem rather than making random guess. He said that me might not have the tools to do that, but did do some minor diagnosing that resulted in the correct guess this time and it was finally fixed two weeks later. read more

Update on my fridge, having the same issues as when Chambers supposably fixed it. A different company fixed it, and asked, 'why did they pull the fridge out - you dont need to for this repair'. So that means Chambers damages my floor for nothing. And did not fix the problem. I woudl definately stay away from this company. read more

They came to "fix" our dishwasher which had come loose from the counter. It is loose again just a few months later but they aren't willing to come back and refix their shotty work without charging us a $90 service fee!! If I could give no stars I would. Very unprofessional. Set up a service call for my dryer and confirmed twice they would arrive between 8 and 12. The day came for the service and my wife took half a day work off to be there. She was called by the technician and told we weren't scheduled until the afternoon. My Samsung dryer keeps tumbling when the power is shut off. I did all things suggested by Samsung like reset breaker box, make sure vent is clean etc. the problem persisted and so they set me up with Chambers. I received a text message to give them a call and set up and appointment. I told them exactly what was wrong with my dryer and they scheduled me an appointment for service. Technician Jeff came out today, I showed him to my dryer and told him what was going on with it. He immediately started giving me prices, said he had a buddy who ran into this problem and if it's what he thinks it is the part is going to be a couple hundred dollars, he then told me that there was a $105 charge just for him coming out to diagnose the issue, and $125 charge for labor. I said but you don't know what the problem is? He said no but I'm pretty sure this is what it is. So he gets on the phone and calls Samsung (weird right), tells the guy on the other end what the issue was, they chat for a couple minutes then he hangs up. He then proceeded to tell me that the issue with my dryer is the control panel needs replaced. At this point I'm fuming not because the control panel needed replaced because this man made a phone call and "decided" this is what's wrong with my dryer. I said you didn't even do anything, you made a phone call. He then proceeded to tell me he could take it apart but it's going to be an additional $125. I said NO I just want you to leave. You are charging me $105 for a PHONE call that I could have made myself and I'm not going to pay you an additional $125 to take the dryer apart. He reiterates to me that he doesn't make the rules that he just does his job, and I understand that and I apologized for being angry at him. What makes me mad is that I was never made aware that there was going to be a $105 charge just for him to come to my house and make a phone call. This is a rip off and I don't feel this is appropriate. read more

I have an LG refrigerator on which the inside light melted, cracked the ceiling of frig. and almost was on fire. Chambers came out and put a new light in (which now does come on and light the inside) however, they tried to fix the ceiling and it looked horrible and even had a hair in the glue. So I had them come out the second time and it doesn't look really any different. They always leave before they ask me if it looks okay, I guess they know that it doesn't. read more

Chambers Services came to our rescue after a failure on the part of the first authorized service representative sent by LG for our 18-month-old refrigerator.
