We have had Bratchers service out multiple times over the last 12 years. Calls were made on gas furnace, gas fireplace, and on a geothermal in floor heating application. At one point, we even had them on a contract for a couple years for a flat rate preventative maintenance program. All times the appointments were made and kept perfectly. All services calls were diagnosed correctly and completed right the first time. The technicians did an excellent job of explaining why they did what they did and showing the before repair and after repair differences. I will continue to use them. read more

Bratchers has been our "go to" for 12 years with our geothermal heating and cooling. They are so professional and respectful and are very quick to come out and check things out and fix anything that needs fixing. Installation was done in one day with no mess. Operations were explained and they did not replace an existing humidifier which just needed rewiring, thus saving me $500. my parents used to get great service from Bratcher. Times have changed. While they are quick to respond (big plus) their on call nighttime techs don't seem to know what they're doing. This is (now) my third service call in less than two weeks. Night tech seemed to just guess the issue. The situation is worse now than what it was two days ago. We have had a horrible experience with this company and this Lennox product. We had to replace the evaporator coil at two years and ten months later it is not working again. Customer service is severely lacking as well. I wish it wasn't under warranty so I could go with someone else. read more

I called Bratcher at night because my mother's because with her thermostat set on the Cool mode, hot air was coming out of the registers. It was 98 in her mobile home when I arrived. She is 94 years old and of course did not understand why this was happening. The tech gave me a couple trouble shooting ideas but wasn't working. It was going to be cool last night so he had me turn the breaker off so nothing would run throughout the night. The tech arrived early morning and after checking all that he could, determined it was the thermostat. After putting in the new thermostat he tested everything, and all was well. Been without working air for 3 weeks now. First technician came out did NOT do a thorough job air worked for a few hours. Second time the company came out they said we needed a new coil replaced that and air only worked once again for a few hours. Third time they came out they found that the first technicians missed mistakes which had made a lot of things go wrong with the outside unit so we was told it would be fixed the following day. Today they did not show up however called to say that we would now have to wait 2 more days before they will even fix what they screwed up. So irritated and after it's fixed I will NEVER use this company again and will suggest that anyone else don't either. read more

Think twice about hiring Bratcher: after reading many great online reviews and doing a ton of due diligence, we selected Bratcher to replace our aging geothermal unit and a reserve hot water heater tank. At first everything seemed great...a responsive, knowledgeable salesperson, all needed items in stock, and a quick installation timeline. However, when the installation began, things quickly went downhill. I learned from one of the installers (luckily) that the plan was to install four separate thermostats throughout our home to accommodate the four heating and cooling zones, and that there was not a central way to control them (a feature that we had with our old system). Instead, we would have to run all over the house, upstairs and down, to individually adjust each unit. I indicated that this was not going to be acceptable. The installer talked to the salesman, who contacted me. He offered a solution that would, naturally, cost an additional $800, which I agreed to in order to get the job done right (the additional amount eventually listed on the bill was $900, not $800, another Bratcher oversight / mistake). The rest of the installation proceeded seemingly normally. (And a quick aside to offer lots of praise for BJ and the other installers, they worked hard and solved numerous issues along the way). Later that night numerous problems developed: low water pressure, hot water quickly running our during showers (never had happened before), and the worst...the heat did not work as the temperature dropped to around freezing. We could only run the emergency heat to warm the house...all electric and very expensive to do for over 48 hours. I contacted the salesman to let him know. He indicated he would come to the house to check on things, and never arrived. He did come out the following Monday with a technician and they made some changes that finally produced heat. I learned later that week that he had abruptly resigned from the company. In the two weeks sense, BJ came back out to the house to check things out (nice guy, helpful as always). We chose to hire a plumbing company that we trust more than Bratcher (at additional expense) to further check things out. Between the two companies most issues have been resolved, but we still have greatly diminished hot water while showering. But I have no confidence that Bratcher can get it resolved. A manager at Bratcher has been in periodic contact with me over the past few weeks. Although he seems friendly enough, there has never been a "hey, we're sorry this happened to you", or an offer to perhaps reduce the bill a little for our inconvenience due to the issues that they caused, like no heat for a weekend, etc. (and this is a $27,000+ project). I now really regret that we chose Bratcher, and that we will be tied to them going forward for maintenance and warranty service as needed. So think twice, maybe three times, before choosing this company. read more

AWESOME! First hot day of the year and my central A/C is out of commission. I called Bratcher Sunday night and left a message. They called back Monday and let me know that they would get to me that day but it would probably be late - like possibly after 10:00 p.m. Like me, many others in town had the same unfortunate A/C experience. They called several more times during the evening to let me know the status of the tech. He arrived at 10:45 and was done at 11:50. AND didn't charge me an 'emergency charge'. read more

John, from Bratcher came to our home a couple days ago to look at a gas furnace that stopped working. He found the gas valve on a 7-year old Bratcher furnace failed. Now, I know Bratcher doesn't make their own furnace, it's really a Lennox product. Why a company would put their name on another company's product is beyond me. Oh well, back to our repair experience. He replaced the gas valve in less than 40 minutes, and repaired the unit. I was charged over $600 for this repair. Come to find out later that the O.E.M. part is only $125 at most supply shops. so, I got charged about $500 to change a $125 part, and it only took about 40 minutes. While I appreciate the furnace is fixed, I just think we got gouged for the service. I just wanted to post this review so others will have another data point when choosing their appliance repair service. read more

Be aware of outrageous price hiking of products. Sure they quote you the price before doing the work but unless you have internet handy to look up part prices you can't trust them. $50!thermostat ended up being $250 to install and $85 service diagnostic fee. I didn't receive any notification that my maintenance contract was expiring. I did receive a card saying to schedule fall maintenance which I did. At no point when scheduling appointment did Bratcher rep say you need to renew your agreement or you'll be charged $148 for furnace inspection. Maintenance agreement for both furnace and AC was only $165. I was charged $148 for furnace inspection because I'm not renewing my annual contract. Seems underhanded to me. I've been happy with Bratcher but now have a friend that can perform these services - no need for an agreement from Bratchers. read more

We have a child with special needs and they made it a point to get out to our house quickly, even after business hours, to make sure to keep our child safe (he seizes if he gets too hot). Our tech, Matt, was professional and kind. A couple weeks later we heard a different noise come from the unit and I called, after business hours, left a voicemail (it was cool enough outside, so we didn't need them that night) and they called me back immediately after opening the next morning. They even offered someone to come out right then or we could wait a couple of hours for our sane tech, Matt. We chose to wait for Matt. He fixed it right up at no charge to us. My air conditioner bit the dust on the HOTTEST day of the year so far. Looked online and had another company come out. Took 2 hours to diagnose and tell me the compressor was dead, then tried to sell me on an expensive complete replacement saying the part may not be available, etc. It's been more than a week and no response from them. We have used Bratcher to service our aging AC/Furnace since we moved into our house over four years ago and they have always been prompt, professional, and done a great job. We knew our AC unit was on life support and sure enough on one of the hottest days of the summer, it stopped cooling the house. I contacted Bratcher first thing Monday morning and Todd came out by around noon to present our options. Luckily, there was a cancellation and a crew was here and installing the new unit by 1:30 p.m. Jeremiah and Zach were friendly and very professional and got the job done by just after 5 p.m. We were elated to have a cool house again and can't thank Bratcher enough for their quick response. They had to come out 3 times to fix a problem and after the third time it still wasn't working properly. Each time they came out, we had to wait at least a week for them to get the supplies the needed supposedly. During that time we had no heat when it was still 30-40's outside. We went a total of one month with no heat in our house with these temperatures. They didn't compensate us for the long wait to have the issues fixed with no heat. They actually told us to use space heaters until they could fix it and didn't prioritize our needs at all. We've since had another company come out and fix our issues no problem. The person I dealt with at Bratcher was also rather rude to me when I call to inform them that we were still having issues after the second time they came out. The person didn't believe me and was going to make us wait until the following week to come out and fix it. Every time they "fixed" something we had more problems when they left than we did before they "fixed" anything. I would never recommend this company for any heating/cooling needs. read more

Not such a great experience. Had ordered a humidifier cleaning. The gentleman came and explained that our unit is steam and that the operator mistakenly thinking it was a passive unit. He said that they charge more for cleaning steam units and it falls out of his expertise. I mean he's nice and courteous and did try. However, during the process, I noticed he doesn't really know much about it. I had to show him how to take off the unit as I had tried to clean it before. He then proceed to ask for white vinegar, which luckily, I have a bottle. Unfortunately the little bottle I had wasn't enough to clean the aged mineral deposits that has formed on the coil. Without anything else, he said he couldn't do much. He took down the unit and asked me to buy some more vinegar or lime away to submerge the entire unit for a long time and put it back up there myself. None of this isn't on the manual which I could've done myself let alone the hassle putting the unit back on. Although he didn't charge me "extra", he really came unprepared. I mentioned mineral deposits when I called so I am surprised the guy didn't have any chemical in his truck and just came bare handed. I'd rather he tell me straight he couldn't do this job and walk away vs charging me $68 for a job I have take care of most of the material and labor. Some guy called me after I posted a review, telling me not to clean it with Lime Away myself and that he'd give me an answer in 3 days. It's been over a month and nothing. They pretty much broke the unit which the service guy that came said should have cost more than $1000 to install. Guess I'll be fixing it myself now. read more
