I'll skip to the end. After multiple attempts, each time receiving a different answer and incurring legal fees, it came down to bringing my daughter to the bank to cash in an IRA that was less than $1000.00. They gave us a check. For SSI Reasons, she has a cap on how much money she can have in the account, and it was already over the cap. I took her across the lobby to cash the IRA check, and they refused to cash it. On the good side, I was able to buy my wife her headstone. The final problem was my daughter's account that holds SSI money. I had to go to the SSI office to get a letter stating that I'm the party responsible. I returned the letter and tried to have the account changed so I could gain access. They told me that I had to wait until they heard from SSI. I called SSI, and they said that any existing money was between D.F. and me. I checked the account online; my name was on it. I went to the credit union, and they told me I still didn't have access. I had to beg her for her back rent money. Too: Desert Financial Credit Union, you win. Keep the money January 29th, I'm going back to SSI and having the deposit moved to another Credit Union I can trust. At least you won't get anymore. I'm selling my house and will cover expenses until she gets caught up. If Desert Financial says, "I'm making this up," they have a record of each visit and can publish it. To Desert Financial If you want to sue me? Save your legal fees, I'm protected by poverty

When one of the major national banks (not to name names, but it starts with a Ch and ends with an…read morease) responded to our report of fraud on our account by freezing our accounts (appropriately) and proceeding to hold onto our remaining funds for over 3 months and refusing to release them until we filed a CFPB complaint (!!!), we decided that we'd put our money with a local credit union so if issues happen, we can talk with someone face-to-face instead of being referred to some disjointed international call center. We picked Desert Financial Credit Union and so far have been extremely happy with the service. Perks we've seen so far: 1) Savings certificates (CDs) with intro rates of 5%, competing with online-only banks and much better than those offered by most national banks 2) Trust establishment services (shout out to Deivy, who is a true joy to meet with) for a much better price than that offered by lawyers in the area (we're talking in the realm of $1500 instead of $6000) 3) Some points-based system where you get some cash back at the end of the year that already has me gamifying our finances to make sure we max out the potential benefits Only negatives so far seem to be a lower ATM daily allowance and some limitations on monthly transfers out of their checking account to external banks. For many people, though, these issues won't come into play. Very happy with our decision to open an account.

They just kind of shrugged and went back to looking at their phones. The woman returned and said she had to leave because she was double-booked. Someone else showed up and said he'd take over. So, I showed him my ID and EIN letter and he asked questions. That part was fine. He said he'd be in touch within a day or two. About a week later, I emailed him and asked him what was up. He was apologetic and gave some BS excuse. I told him him I had a bunch of cash at home that I'd really like to deposit. He said he had to check with someone, or something along those lines. More days went by. I called him and left a message asking for him to call me back. Nothing. I deposited my money at another credit union today and can honestly say that dealing with AZOne CU was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in my life.

This is especially upsetting because we had been burned before and we specifically asked about car accidents and were told no! And shown a car fax on the office's computer screen... only to find out multiple accidents. We paid for the truck with cash and today we are selling it and for about 8k less than what we bought it for, because it's truly a piece of junk. I would not buy anything here, don't look here, don't call them, nothing. Stay far away.

Joe Martinez is my account manager I believe, I have to say that I have had the worst year of my life. By losing my car to a total loss accident having to buy another car, I was financed thru challenge. I was then robbed, lost 3 family members and had a surgery to be robbed again a month a ago via the internet thieves. Joe has never once ever made me feel less than human like most people collecting late payments tend to treat you like a scumbag. I am a hard working mom and he always finds a way to tell me that we will work it out and even when it is bad news he delivers it with such eloquence that it is easy to swallow and he has NEVER led me into a trap or made me feel like I cannot catch up. so thank you Joe for everything you do and continue to do for me. I hate my interest rate but they more than make up for that in service and dedication to their customers. I would finance again and again if Joe could be my account manager. read more

My choice of stars is ONLY towards Olivia in collections at Challenge Financial. I will start with the ONLY positive. Olivia is my savior (so to speak) AND AN ASSET to Challenge Financial. She is the ONLY one that worked with me to avoid this company garnishing my wages. Prior to talking to her I was yelled at when I spoke to other collections representatives. It was a living hell. Olivia has the knowledge that "you get more with honey than salt." I recently was so overwhelmed that I thought I would declare bankruptcy but that was a dead end due to the equity in our home being too much. So I called Olivia to get payments started again and still her tone wasn't abrupt mean in any way as a collection representative. She is reassuring at a 100% . Olivia is an example of how collections should be done with knowledge and understanding. read more

I hit a few months where work has slowed down and has drastically affected my income and they have worked with me every step of the way. All they ask is that you keep in communication with them. Going into a Buy Here Pay Here situation you expect higher payments/interest rates. I have had my car with Challenge financial services since Feb 2017. I have had some financial issues and Joe Martinez has been a life saver working with us to make sure our car was not taken. I recently was in a minor accident with said car and I had full coverage insurance. The insurance company completely screwed me repairs and again Joe came to my rescue and helped me! I really enjoyed working with Marcus, but he is now along with the customer service. Being retired, I was traveling and had not looked at this seldom used account for a while. When I looked, I realized I had made a simple math error which caused the account to be overdrawn. I was really upset when I noticed what I had done, and on top of that, I was dinged with $130.00 in overdraft fees. Since I had NEVER had a single overdraft in 10 years, I thought they would surely be willing to wave these ridiculous fees. I called the bank and expressed my concerns and was told the manger would call me back shortly. I waited four days before I got a call from Ann Marie. In a cheery voice she told me NOPE! It appears that the once good customer service has been replaced with plastic corporate types, with the attitude of "what can we get out of our customers". Since loyalty obviously means nothing to them, I am moving my accounts to a Credit Union where I will actually find quality customer service.

We had less than perfect credit; we had a lot of challenges- no repos, but other credit challenges. They worked with us. However we did 0 research on the car, and we realized too late that they priced the car extremely high. especially with the amount of miles that came on it. we were so desperate to get a vehicle because we had a new born son and we needed transportation however being a new family who was tight on money it's absolutely upsetting to learn that the car place took advantage of our lack of experience. From the moment we walked in they set the tone that we would be lucky to get approved and unfortunately for us that sales trick got us. Looking back we had no repos so we prob could have gone elsewhere but we just had a baby and we literally had to take an uber to the car lot. I am kicking myself for not having done our research.. so far the car has been pretty good for us- no issues beyond the tire pressure sensor needing to be replaced when we bought the car. another frustrating thing is this car place doesn't put 1/2 coolant 1/2 water- they save money by putting less coolant in. Kinda crappy to do to customers in this heat because they will have to do a coolant flush especially with summers here in AZ- if they want to keep their AC working in tip top shape. Having a baby i'm kicking myself for not choosing a better car with back AC vents but that's on me not the car company: I just wish the car company maybe thought about back AC vents for me.. So down payments are ridiculous there we had to put like 1k down on a 7,500 car so that kinda sucked, other car dealerships only require $500 down on that size loan. The financial aspect is what is the most frustrating for us, but there are some good points. We are making BMW size payments for this car- it feels like. Having bad credit sucks....compared to family members who have great credit my car payments are close to theirs and I am driving a significantly crappier car. My advice is buy a cheap car outright and pay off whatever crap is bringing down your credit score because paying $400 a month for ford escape hurts... In addition to the steep interest the thing I hate the most is the ridiculous convenience fees... This company takes total advantage of people in that area and routinely will take off my auto pay in order to make me have to pay a $12 convenience fee. Like right now somehow I owe them $20 in late fees but I can't get my account manager to respond to the text threads anymore. He was up until I started sending screen shots of my bank account showing that I made the entire payment- on their end it shows me only paying $182 however it's auto pay and I clearly show payment of $192. So I'm having to stay on this because I started getting harassed by them saying that i'm 11 days late , ok, how? what's the balance? they respond with $20.... and mind you i'm getting like very threatening messages like pay this today or risk next steps... Crazy talk because I have no clue how I am behind $20 and I can't get anyone on the phone to explain it to me, now my next payment is due on Friday this week- and they have stopped replying via text message and send me to vm when I call. last message I received from them is that they disabled my auto payments set for fri this week. Mind you if I have to call the payment in I have to pay a $12 convenience fee and we are a one income household right now and that's just not doable. So I am livid dealing with this kind of nonesense. I have asked them as the first check of the month pays our rent and it would be better for us if we have 1 payment a month instead of bi weekly... They refuse to do that.. but they allow us to make payment arrangements, ok cool... so how do I owe $20 then? and that is why i'm giving them only 2 stars because of the hassle over this, and out of nowhere $20 late fee which I am thinking they are going to try and tie to the payment arrangement even though I can't get anyone on the phone to confirm this. I got a job and we will be needing a second car very soon and we absolutely will not be coming here because of this kind of stuff. Like $12 convenience fees, taking advantage of people just because you can, and harassing text messages over $20- and not answering the text message responses or phone calls to explain it.... All these reasons are why we are going to look elsewhere for our next car, and in today's economy as a business you should be wanting to keep customers.

I was told the vehicle was not involved in any accident upon further investigation it was determined it had been in an accident I dealt with the Country Club location Liz was a bloodhound not a good experience she wanted to place me in any car and was bothered that I excepted anything more from a USED car so I went to Surprise customer service from Pedro was great but the vehicle has issues fast forward I was told to come and get the vehicle it was ready when I arrived NOTHING had been fixed the car still had no HEAT but they stated they changed the thermostat but when you run the a/c you smell burning wires I also was told there is not an oil leak it was left over oil from a repair so they "cleaned" the area this is where it gets funny the manager Mark becomes upset that I didn't want to keep the car because the repairs were not performed and the air bag light is still on meaning it will not deploy GOD forbid in an event I get into an accident he came to me a WOMAN as if he wanted to tussle he was waving the paper around that showed they cleaned off the bottom of the vehicle it's a 2011 vehicle if I want a vehicle with no issues he advise me to get a 2026 excuse me? It became a back and forward battling of me simply expressing the issues and him telling me so you just have buyer's remorse dismissing everything I stated I explained no I have buyers concerns then the disrespect continued I stood completely confused as to way is this MAN acting so sassy and being disrespectful when I purchased a vehicle that has been in the shop longer then I've drove it and when I finally get the car back I discover it's in the exact same condition so I shut it down I explained to him I am a grown woman with four children you will not speak to me any way he told me he has five kids one up on me???!! What is actually happening I was so confused and in a weird situation because it's me and three men standing here and they are not speaking up because he is management and they need their jobs but the one gentleman at the end we had a moment and from that I gathered he was on my side or at least understanding where I was coming from but his hands are tied so basically I asked to either switch the vehicle out or get my money back because literally a older gentleman just switched his vehicle out so I called the location I originally purchased the vehicle explaining what I wanted to do and you can hear the frustration from the guy on the phone I won't name him because I believe he is a good person just set in his ways so after speaking with a lot of drama queens minus 2 I told just bring the vehicle back you'll be refunded your money after another gentleman from a location in Mesa spoke with me and said I can switch the vehicle out they just need to see which location will work but because I wouldn't take the bait and be manipulated into staying in a car that wasn't going to serve me and my family justice instead of making it right they said F*** me I'm still in disbelief on these events the manager at the Glendale location said a mouthful of things and has left me disgusted and wondering where is the MEN in the world today we are surrounded by men who are supposed to protect the women instead they hate us it's so sad I don't know what he is going through in his personal life but he needs to go to therapy or take FMLA stress leave cause my GOD on today! Men we have to do better and women too when they see a woman they take advantage of you so ladies please make sure you are not making rush decisions Check the fluids make sure nothings leaking test drive on the highway notice any smells say something don't feel pressured into buying a vehicle because you NEED one I know that's easier said then done but what's for you is for you it will all work out so I rate the company zero stars and I will pray on it I have faith and trust in GOD if you made it this far GOD bless you!
