The castle itself is huge but quite cramped inside so it was alot of work following my 2.5 yo kid inside. The castle is targetted for 5yo and up. My toddler enjoyed the spiral slides. The rest of the playground is nice and clean as well. There's free parking available and the castle is a short walk from there. I went there on a Friday afternoon/evening in late august and it wasn't too crowded. I would come back again if I was in the area

If you live locally it may be worthwhile but the drive for me was such a waste of my time for what this was. Ready? It's a: Big Wooden Castle Yep, that's it, folks. A gigantic version of that swingset-clubhouse combo you bought at Costco only to rot in your backyard because spiders and rain made it so unpleasant for kids that they refuse to use it. It's that creepy clubhouse times 30! It's pretty much a regular playground with most kids swarming the swings and other play features with a few venturing into the old wood play structure. They go in once and don't go back in again. My son was cursed at by older boys who appeared beyond the age guidelines (and I was surprised to see them still interested in a playground). In the myopic darkness of the castle, my son banged his head when inside the dank structure there was suddenly an unmarked (unlit) drastic change in ceiling height. Needless to say this experience was a turn off. Most kids really preferred being out in daylight because the castle felt more like a dungeon. It was fun to see friends and we enjoyed the togetherness of the play date but unless I'm in the area and desperate for a kid distraction, I won't be back.

With scenic walking trails, an outdoor classroom, day camps and a small indoor animal habitat, Briar Bush is a great spot for small children, couples on a date, or anyone looking for a brief respite from the urgency of the modern world. With free admission for locals and a small fee for out-of-towners, the preserve is accessible to all patrons provided that they are able to walk down some wooded trails that circle through the admittedly short walking routes. The centerpiece of the trails is a picturesque, secluded pond with benches for sitting and an interactive sign with information on the local fauna and flora. The indoor animal habitat has a small gift shop, pamphlets on upcoming events and information on other parks in the area, and several interesting animals such as a blind possum named Odin, a bearded lizard named Karl, and several other unique turtles and reptiles. All of Briar Bush can be walked through in an hour or so, but the low admission, interactive nature events and scenic walking trails will have you wanting to return again soon.

I know what poison ivy looks like, and when it's in hairy vine form, it can choke a tree and kill it. There was a wildlife sanctuary in the neighborhood that I grew up in as a child, and many of the trees almost died because they were being choked by poison ivy. Hairy vine, no friend of mine. But, on a more positive note, they have some animals that you can pet (when they are being presented by a lecturer), including rabbits, rats, and snakes, plus a turtle. In fact, now, as I am typing this, I remember coming here as a kid with school and Cub Scouts and my family as well, and I remember Boo the Rat (R.I.P!) and I remember a turtle who came to Briar Bush after being fed dog food by its owner. Eww. Bottom line, presentation is everything. One thing that I personally don't mind but that wildlife and some other visitors are probably irritated by is the fact that SEPTA's Warminster Line runs behind Briar Bush with a train going by every so often.

The only thing I would say negatively; I don't believe the axe throwing station should be available to anyone under at least twelve and with better supervision. There were two young boys just chopping at the target and they could not throw the axes safely. A potential accident waiting to happen. Otherwise it was an amazing day for both of us.

Very nice, but was taking forever to check in. We waited almost 20 minutes to check in and I had pre-purchase tickets. Then we had to wait at the harness station. Another 15 minutes because only 1 employee. A second arrived, but that's when we were at the front of the line. The treehouses themselves are pretty cool. Sadly, more than one had trash left by people. So sad. Staff was nice, but they were short staffed. Multiple things weren't manned so we couldn't Partake in them. We walked to the farther zipline to find no one there to run it. The tomahawk throw didn't have staff. The bungee bounce had one worker so two pads weren't used. Forced us to wait 15-20 minutes for a turn. Then 1 minute later, the staff rotated and the new person ended my child's turn, not realizing they just got on the trampoline. The other issue was lack of parenting. A birthday party of boys was happening and the boys weren't being supervised. They were not following rules and the staff was too young to take control. When adults didn't follow the rules, I had to remove my child from the activity out of safety. The cost was then no longer worth it as time and again, we weren't able to do the activity. We left and won't return at full cost. It's a shame because it could be great.
