The mom and uncle of the owner showed up early to set up and start cooking. They were professional, kind, and very friendly. I was stoked that they cooked everything fresh on site and didn't just have food in warmers. We got to choose among proteins and veggies, and the salsa bar was awesome. Kids and adults alike really enjoyed the churros too! They boxed up all leftovers after the event, so we ate tacos for leftovers and froze a bunch too for later. The only thing one of my friends said was that paying extra for salad wasn't worth it because the salad was just from a bag. Everything was delicious, and I ate too much! I ended up ordering - tri-tip - mashed potatoes - roasted veggies - assorted bread - lemon garlic salmon - veggie garlic pasta - Greek salad - dinner rolls - fresh fruit display - fresh fruit tarts - petit fours - gluten free mini cupcakes: red velvet, chocolate, vanilla, lemon I appreciate that Priscilla suggested to halve the salmon fillets to have double the number of salmon pieces for guests to have snack portions rather than meal portions. Although mini cupcakes were not listed on her menu, she was able to provide them. Also, you can ask her about gluten free desserts. You can have more than just macarons. Compliments I received... "Did you make the food? The salmon and tri-tip were so juicy." "This is better than most wedding food." 2 people inquired who I used to cater for the event. I received general praise that the food was good. I received explicit praise that the petit fours and fruit tarts were good. The mashed potatoes were thick but good. Passion for catering's setup and tear down went smoothly. It was maybe 20-30 minutes of setup and 10 minutes of tear down. I appreciate that they were able to provide decor for the food tables. They also provided some takeout containers for us to take leftover food. 10/10 would cater from them again.

First off, 100% pros! Highly recommend you consider (at least get a quote) using the historic venue…read morefor any function for 70 or less! Susan (owner) is prompt and responsible on communications. Usually same day, 24 hours at the most. She is also a direct communicator (i.e., she will volunteer best practices in advance - which I personally resonated to). You can tell she has expertise in catering immediately. We needed a seating plan for our church's 20th Anniversary to accommodate 70 people and were able to get 60 in the main room and another table for the remaining 10 just outside in the adjoining buffet/bar area ( with line of sight to main room there was no problem). We opted in for some appetizers and a buffet style menu and hosted refreshment bar. The catered pricing, including venue was more than I was expecting, but in hindsight was reasonable considering the flexibility in set up accommodations, wonderful service and tasty food. Susan permitted several onsite run throughs for us, and gave us early access to set up which was an unexpected perk. Our service team consisting of Lisa, Julie, Adriana and Shelly were all in place and totally in the zone the entire event. They had out on platters the stuffed mushrooms and crab cakes three minutes into the welcome and mingle portion of the banquet. The coffee pot and condiments were ready all through the three hour event. The buffet line was opened and the food was warm (could have been hotter), but all tasty. I suggest that the gravy pot be reposition because it was hard to get too with being squeezed in between the two serving bins. Not sure why at some point that one of the staff members moved into the line to serve out the chicken fillets only. That was a little odd. The cake was expertly platted and served at the right moment. Tables cleared and waters refreshed adequately. Parking was street only but had nearby options so it all worked out well. The Audio/ Visual equipment was above average and worked without any issues. The entrance way on the front corner of the cafe would benefit with a cautionary led light or tape on the entry's one step as it blends into the approach and can represent a trip hazard, but we had no issues during our event. The bathrooms are eclectic, in character and clean. This organization did a fine job for our special event and we are very glad to have selected High Street Catering and Cafe. I had heard of them before because a friend used them for their wedding, and since I plan events for a living, I've worked with a lot of caterers. For my own event though, price mattered a lot, but I still wanted really good food. After reaching out to a bunch of places, I went with Havana because I had tried their food before and their pricing was very reasonable. We ordered full trays of adobo chicken, lechon roasted pork, crispy tofu, paella, sofrito rice, black beans, corn, poblano mac and cheese, and plantains. I did bring in one dish from another restaurant, Jamaican oxtail, just because I know my guests are big foodies. The biggest hits from Havana were definitely the poblano mac and cheese, lechon, and the paella. Honestly, the mac and cheese was the standout. Everyone kept going back for it and I wish I had ordered an extra tray. What really stood out to me though was the delivery experience. The driver called me ahead of time, brought everything in, and set it all up. He opened the trays with gloves, added sauces, arranged everything nicely, and even put out utensils and labels. I've had plenty of catering deliveries before and this was easily one of the best. He was just genuinely kind and went above and beyond, and it made a big difference. Overall, everything went smoothly, the food was great, and I would definitely order from them again.
