More of a 4+. Zero ambiance but a place to grab a good affordable Indian food. Not a place to be seen but if you don't want to be. Grabbed a table for myself to enjoy a solo meal. I tried the chicken biryani special for $10 bone in with a leg and thigh. Pretty good for ten dollars, not the best but enjoyable and filling. Lot of tables. I can't say enough good things about Chai Wyy! The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was amazing. Having traveled to Mumbai, I've been looking for Indian cuisine that tastes similar and Chai Wyy absolutely nails it. The Chicken Tikka Masala was rich and flavorful, and the samosas were perfectly crispy and delicious. This place is a gem for anyone craving genuine Indian food in the area. A complete dive. The "restaurant" is a dilapidated store that's converted into a restaurant without cleaning up. So it's a real dump. When I got there I was the only customer. But I decided to try it anyways given the lofty ratings on Yelp. Firstly there's no way this is an above 4 star rated place. Please be realistic. Are the other reviews planted!? The ambience/odor alone puts it in the near 2-3 star category. The food? Bhel puri 2.5/5 - too sweet, too many peanuts and tamarind sauce but not bad either. Burji pav 3.5/5 - the burji was good and authentic but the pav/bread was stale but toasted in plenty of butter to hide the staleness. Tea/chai 4.5/5....the highlight! read more

The exterior has another name posted so it can be confusing. The decor is minimal and could be described as "hole in the wall". The cashier was helpful in selecting our meal. The sandwiches are all rather small for the price point but the meal combo is a good value. Everything was tasty as well seasoned. We also ordered mango lassi which was also good. Chai Wyy lives up to its name. As someone who has lived in India, I can say they have a great selection of street food. Do not forget to get the pani puri with friends or family. It's a classic experience. Also would recommend trying their chai. Sandwiches are great if you've worked up quite an appetite. But if you're less hungry I'd recommend going for a Frankie. Had a delicious brunch in this new gem yesterday. We had the Paneer Frankie, Samosa Grill Sandwich, and Bombay Veg Potato Grill Sandwich. They all tasted great and you can't go wrong with any of them. Also had the desi chi which was perfectly spiced and mango lassi which my daughter loved! Will be back to try more items on their menu. The menu is interesting, the place simple but clean and the folks running it trying hard to please. The (?) owner told us of 2 items not on the menu: chicken biryani and chicken kabobs. We ordered both. Price very reasonable ($ rating)....example, can of diet coke $2. Food was delicious. Veggie sandwich like dishes looked very enticing. Excellent value for the money.
