Once again, Chabert Plumbing answered our needs right away. They remembered us even though it's been 6 months since we called on them and I think they must have a lot of customers. If you go to the company's website, you might be a little intimidated if all you need is help with leaky pipes or toilets. They focus on large jobs on their homepage, and I hesitated before calling them to replace our water heater after the winter storm last February. I am so glad that I called them. They came out and gave us hot water in just a couple of days. Recently we called on them again to fix the drain pipes under our bathroom sink. Prompt service, job well done, service over and above what we expected, and very reasonable charge have cemented Chabert as our plumbing service. read more

Great company. Great service. Highly recommend. I never had a call go unanswered or unreturned. Pleasant & helpful. Local owners who showed up for inspection & estimate on time. Knowledgeable & patient when we had questions. Arrived when scheduled to replace our water heater. Stayed until the job was finished & we were satisfied. We were. Went over & above to make sure their work was satisfactory. It was. We plan to use Chabert for all of our plumbing issues. read more

Our shower was leaking, and Gary came out to replace the cartridge. Discovered there was a bigger issue going on, and they were able to schedule a follow-up, make the changes, and get the shower working great. Very flexible, knowledgable and easy to work with. Thanks! read more

Very friendly, professional staff! I called with my plumbing issue and was able to have someone out later the same day. I liked that they wore masks for my safety and theirs as well. They communicated the issue and what it would take to fix it. If I run into more plumbing issues in the future I will be using them again! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Excellent and efficient work fixing my plumbing issue. Very fairly priced. But most importantly of all, OUTSTANDING customer service. Kim -- you rock! We had a small issue with some miscommunication between folks involved on the job, and I wasn't thrilled with the outcome. But I am sincerely BLOWN AWAY at the quality of customer service. They more than made it right, and it is clear this company cares about customer satisfaction. I never expected such customer service from a plumbing company...my perception was tainted by past bad experiences with other companies. USE CHABERT PLUMBING -- you will not regret it! read more

Terry and his team came to my house multiple times to repair my water heater. He is extremely friendly and professional, and I will trust Chabert to do more of my plumbing work in the future. Kim at the back office is extremely responsive and helpful as well. Thank you! read more

Pete and Jon are skilled plumbers, but more importantly they're conscientious. Took the time to work with us to find the cheapest way to arrange our plumbing in our commercial space. I had what I thought was a leak shortly afterwards, they came out to fix it and found it was a backed up HVAC - not something they worked on - and didn't even charge us for the visit. read more

Completely disappointed. I wanted to believe my fellow Yelpers...and I've been patient trying to hear back from these guys....but what a FAIL. It's been about 4-5 days playing phone tag with the brothers on getting an estimate for a commercial job. 1. Thursday morning I called asked to get an estimate and time and day when they could check out the place. They said they would call to confirm a time on Friday to check. (Never called back on Thursday when they said they would) (First sign of lack of keeping their word) 2.Friday comes along, they pretty much call about 30 minutes before they can come to the place (around 4-5pm) and I'm still in business 10am-7pm (Mon-Sat) and can't just up and go whenever they are free and give me no lead time. 3.Monday 8am (today) they call in the morning to try and get a mutual time to get an estimate (which we agreed after 7pm), and Paul says he will call his brother to see if he is free too and WILL call me back to CONFIRM. I made it clear that I'm working 10am-7pm all day and won't be able to get to the location til about 7:30pm. They called around 7pm, and I'm still at the shop working, since they NEVER called back to let me know that they will be coming by. I called back and let them know that I can make it there in 15 minutes since I have to close up the store and drive. Paul makes a snide comment saying that we agreed to meet at 7pm, and that I agreed upon this. I truly hate it when people try to put words into your mouth, and especially when I was never contacted for any confirmation on time. If I made a mistake on communication on my part I could completely admit to my fault. I have been waiting all day for them to reach me back to confirm if it was going to happen, and even if I agreed to it, I told them it would be 7:30pm at the earliest that I could make it there. He gives me this rude fuss saying that their going to grab food then come back. (So basically, wants me to wait til when they feel like returning?) You think after dealing with them, giving them 4-5 days to get their act straight, and lack of communications? I clearly can't trust them with a commercial job and believe that it's going to come out as they say. read more

Paul just left my house, and I felt compelled to write a review as I was so pleased with his help. If anyone notices the date, which will no doubt go down in infamy as the most ridiculous snow day in Austin history, today was a day where everyone flipped out over the snopocalypse of 2011. As luck would have it, it would be the day my pipe froze and burst. Many offices and all schools were closed. I called Paul in the morning with my problem and he was at my house the same day, in a matter of 10 minutes from the time and called me to say he was on his way. He fixed my pipe problem, insulated the culprit pipe AND even insulated another outdoor spigot without my asking. He explained everything he did and gave me tips to prevent these issues from happening again. He also properly insulated everything so that I shouldn't have these issues again. He was prompt, courteous, and VERY reasonably priced, especially given the circumstances and environmental conditions. The entire job took probably about 30 minutes. I would recommend anyone use Chabert Plumbing! I am certainly going to use him again, should I have anymore emergencies, and am even going to hire him for my kitchen and bath remodels. Couldn't be more pleased with Paul, his service, and his rates. 5 stars for sure! read more

Solid reliable service from honest hardworking dudes. Price should have been more reasonable for fixing my busted water main, but that is just my opinion. I would call them again. read more

Worked with Pete, one of the owners and he was kind enough to answer all of my questions over the phone with pictures I shared. Competitive pricing and good work! read more

One of my tenants was having major plumbing issues so I found this plumber on Yelp so he could check out the place. Not only did he actually show up on time but he was also very affordable and flexible. He understood my situation and that the tenants themselves would not be paying, so he took the liberty of e-mailing me the invoice which I could later mail in. Great service and will use him again. read more

Had a bad water stain in my ceiling. Called Chabert plumbing based on the reviews here on Yelp. They were responsive and came in to do a diagnostic, but they diagnosed the wrong problem! They tested "everything" and found no leak. The cut open a hole in my ceiling for further investigation, and said there's a pipe that was "improperly fixed" before. Personally, I'm very skeptical about these things, because I'm no expert, so someone telling me an old problem from which no water was leaking was the problem made me very unsure. Regardless, we went ahead with their recommendation to fix and replace a pipe. That project cost $400. A couple weeks later, my roommate took a bath, and the ceiling started leaking! We never take baths, so we can see how the problem/leak has been missed for so long. The REAL problem ended up being a broken/disconnected bathtub overflow. HOW CAN A PROFESSIONAL PLUMBER MISS THIS IN A DIAGNOSTIC???! I DO NOT KNOW. I called Paul repeatedly about the "newfound" problem and for referrals to fix the holes they cut. I'm very accommodating, and understood he was busier with a commercial project, but I mean...you didn't fix my problem and I paid you.. Since he was busy, Paul gave me the contact for another plumbing company who came and fixed the issue for another $400. Another hole needed to be cut from a bedroom wall. So..in total. I paid over $1000 (both plumbing jobs plus dry wall patching and retexturing) for a job that should only have cost $600 max. I haven't even gotten to repainting the re-patched walls. I feel gipped even as I write this. read more

I needed a plumber to fix a pressure valve on my hot water heater. I fired up Yelp to find someone that could help me as quickly as possible. I found a review for Chabert that said "of all the people I called these were the only plumbers to call me back" and that iced it for me. I called Chabert, spoke to Paul, and they made an appointment to come out later that afternoon. They fixed my issue in about 15 minutes and the cost was very reasonable. While they were fixing the hot water heater I asked them to take a look at installing a P-trap in my sink. Paul was very honest and said that he would be willing to do the work for me, but it was so easy to do and I'd just be wasting money. He told me what I needed and what I'd do to put it together. Excellent service! Anytime I need plumbing services, I'm calling Chabert! read more

Used Chabert for a pipe repair job. Customer service was awesome. Kimberly in the office was prompt and answered all my questions. Pete was able to come out for an estimate within an hour of my initial call. He offered different options to fit within our budget. The team that came out to do the work was timely, cleaned up after themselves and communicated along the way. Chabert ended up being the most cost effective and quick option - we're so glad we used them and would happily use them again in the future. read more

This was my first call (top of the Yelp list for best reviewed and close) for fast plumbing help today in S. Austin. Mike answered and said he'd be over in a few hours. He was here in 2 hours. Problem found and fixed. Happy customer. Will definitely use Chabert Plumbing again. read more

I was having problems with my hot water heater and called several highly rated plumbers in my area based on Yelp reviews. Chabert was the only plumber to call me back. They arrived promptly and inspected my hot water heater. They gave me the choice of replacing the element or replacing the entire heater. Given the age of the heater, I decided to replace it. These guys left my house, picked up the parts and arrived at 8:00 am the next morning to replace the heater. They were very pleasant to work with, answered all my questions about tank versus tankless heaters and in the end, left the final decision up to me. I really appreciated how responsive they were--especially considering that they were on the only company to call me back. Will be using them again in the future. read more

Pete is honest, dependable, and does excellent work. I hired him to do extensive plumbing repairs on a mid-century house I bought. Pete walked through the repairs beforehand, drafted a detailed estimate, and performed the work according to specification. No surprise costs, no sudden work to be added on. Pete was prompt, and his work was performed expertly. I highly recommend him. read more

Yelp is a help once again. I'm home from vacation for less than 12 hours when my garbage disposal dislodges itself from its flanges and crashes under the sink with an alarming THUD. That thing is heavy and was a pain in the butt to install; I knew I needed the help of a pro. So. . . Chabert Plumbing has all these enviable Yelp reviews. I call and leave a message. Paul returns my call promptly and is out at my house two hours later. Problem is fixed in a jiffy and I'm charged a reasonable price for his trouble. I will definitely be calling these guys again when and if I need to. You'd be a fool not to call them, especially if you have an emergency. read more

These guys were soooo wonderful. My sewer line collapsed at a rental property of mine, which really interrupted my tenants lives, Paul was out there looking at the situation within an hour of my calling in on Monday morning. He gave me a great price, he kept me & my tenants posted on progress, finished the work within 1.5 days because they worked such a long day the first day & were out there early the next day to finish. They put everything back the way it was: 2 fences & a raised garden bed. The whole crew was so nice & friendly. I really appreciated their customer service ethic. I've already told everyone I know to use them. read more

Absolutely the best plumber in town! After having several "fixed price" estimates and several estimates from less than reputable plumbers, Pete came out, quoted me a price, and had the job done inside of two days! This was spectacular, considering he replaced fully half of my sewer line! Rather than quote me a price to simply repair the break under my home's slab, Pete replaced the line with a new one for less than others quoted just to go in and fix the one spot! I will definitely be calling Pete again (probably sooner than later, I have to get my ice maker plumbed in!) for plumbing issues that are beyond my abilities. Pete Chabert is honest, fair, and knows what he is doing. If you are looking for a great plumber, Chabert Plumbing is the only call you need to make! I have already recommended him to one friend, and I will certainly do the same for other friends in the future. read more

Well, called Chabert to fix a leaky shower (the one they fixed in March of 2011) and left a message. They never called me back! Went with Wilson Plumbing instead, and they were great. read more

Our gas water heater went out and they responded promptly and worked quickly. Good workmanship and trustworthy. We feel like if we ever had problems Chabert would be there to support their work. Found them on Yelp and would recommend them. read more

I just had Chabert Plumbing replace my main sewer line from the house to the street. This involved digging up a lot of yard and cutting across my driveway and replacing it. They did a very good job and I am satisfied with their work and very pleased with their price. I had three plumbing companies bid on the job. Two where large corporate types and Chabert is a small local plumber. The other two bids were very high in comparison to Chabert. I took a chance on the small local guy and I'm glad I did. The crew was professional and did everything they should have as needed. The project took a little longer than originally estimated, but that was mainly due to weather delays. I would definantly recommend Pete Chabert Plumbing and his crew for any of your plumbing needs. Support the local guys! Their work is good and their prices are the best. read more

I had some major plumbing work to do at my house and didn't have a plumber in mind so I looked at Yelp to see which plumbers had favorable reviews. That led me to call Pete at Chabert Plumbing and now understand what a valuable resource Yelp is. Pete at Chabert plumbing is honest, dependable and does great work. Furthermore he came right away to give me an estimate and started work within a few days after I gave him the green light to begin. I highly recommend Pete and Chabert Plumbing. read more

Totally agree with the other 5-star reviews. After failing to reach one of the other 5-star plumbers here (his outgoing message said he was backlogged several days), I gave Pete a call. He answered right away and came out the same afternoon. Our problem -- the pilot failing to light in the water heater -- was easy to resolve and he charged only $75 for the visit. read more

Don't let Pete's youthful appearance deceive you--he really knows his plumbing. We had a mystery leak in our kitchen ceiling, and no clue where it was coming from. Pete came out the morning after I called him, on time. After some investigation, he found the source of the leak (a hot water pipe with a bad solder joint) and fixed it. He was pleasant, smart, and reasonably priced. I called him on another problem, and, while it wasn't his thing, he directed me to someone who could fix it. So, add honesty and helpfulness to the list. I highly recommend him. read more

We called Chabert Plumbing on a Saturday morning to fix our garbage disposal which had clogged and backed up into the dishwasher. They picked up the phone right away, made it to our home when they said they would (as soon as they finished the job they were working on) and fixed our problem for a reasonable cost. read more

I just wanted to say that these guys are fantastic, fair, quick and honest! they came to my house two hours after I called, diagnosed the problem and fixed it within two hours charging me less than they quoted because it didn't take as long as they expected!
