Chaba Thai has been in business since 2012 but I've been reluctant to come here since I am not a huge fan of Thai food after having a couple of less than stellar experiences. I'm not a fan of peanuts in food but to each their own. I ordered Thai wings and a side of broccoli and rice and 2 eggrolls and a taro bubble tea to go. The lady at the front was very friendly and the bubble tea, rice and broccoli are good but I wasn't a fan of the wings because they were breaded. I came here again but to dine in and got 2 eggrolls and Penang beef curry with steamed rice and it was good and not very spicy. For dessert I got the watermelon bubble tea and the fried bananas and they were good. Got the yellow curry, hot. The flavor was good but the only vegetables in addition to bamboo shoots were a mix of obviously frozen peas, carrots, and green beans. Yuck. This felt slightly awkward having them just standing and watching, but I know they meant well Some tips: The spice level (heat) ranges from low, medium, high, and "Thai hot." I got the second most spicy, and it definitely packed some heat. There are also boba drinks to choose from with a variety of flavors and the options for tapioca, jelly, or poppers. I like the vibe of this place. It's peaceful. I needed that this day. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but just having moved to the area I want to work my way through a menu if I like a place. I wanted to give this place a try. I love Tom Yum & Tom Kha. So, I ordered Tom Kha with shrimp. I've never had it quite this dark before. I believe it was the mushrooms. Which I loved. I'm a huge fan. But, it does make the flavor lean that way. Still very tasty. Try it. I also got fried tofu. I like it. I know it's a texture issue for many. But fried, it's not for me. They fry theirs perfectly! I may get this every single time. I asked for a side of peanut sauce & it was perfect. The biggest issue I had was cashing out. If I hadn't paid attention my lunch would've cost me twice the amount. It took about 20 minutes to fix the issue, & the money had to be refunded. It was a mess. But they were so sweet about it. Despite a funny smell when I entered the restaurant and only one server taking care of five tables and all take out orders, the food and the service was very good. Everything was packaged for dine-in inside of Styrofoam to-go containers. A little odd. But everything was also wrapped separately. My sauce for my entree was not cooked with the food...I had to dump it on after the fact...which meant I was almost eating a soup. I had 2 spring rolls...each came in their own sandwich bag. There was a ton of waste and I could t understand why. My favorite part was when I went to pay, there was a sign at the register that said "Save the earth- no plastic ware for to-gos unless requested." While the pineapple rice was a little on the burnt side I still ate because my husband and I hadn't eaten all day. Visited here on a Work day lunch for dine in. The restaurant has a unique stagnant water smell inside otherwise relatively clean. I ordered the egg drop soup which was ok guess it's suppose to taste like chicken broth (never had it before). The appetizer we had the beef dumplings very good and crisp and spring rice which was ok . My main entree was the Beef Pad Thai, which was ok, the slim shreds of beef were chewy except for one piece was very hard. The noodles were very chopped up not what I expected.
