Decently good! This restaurant is owned by the same group as Columbia Restaurant that is right next door. They are very different though. The menu here is more coastal/floribbean. My group got the chicken with guava/banana/mango, burger, coconut shrimp, and conch fritters. I thought the chicken was very very good. I really liked the flavors and the chicken was very juicy. The burger was good as well. The coconut shrimp was very coconut heavy, less so shrimp. They were good, though. The conch fritters were also pretty good, but nothing mind blowing. For desert, we got the guava mango cheesecake and the key lime pie. Both of these were amazing! The cheesecake had a great guava flavor and the key lime pie tasted so good and not artificial at all (which some restaurants definitely do.. yuck!) Overall, decently good meal! The server was very attentive and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the inside had lots of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I made the reservation for here and it didn't seem to get too packed throughout the time we were there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside and outside are connected and open so it was nice for people watching.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
This was the first restaurant we ate at as we arrived for the week. We liked it so good we decided to come back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is upbeat and beachy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They even had live music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our food was delicious. I especially liked the ahi tuna salad. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We wouldn't mind going back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cha Cha Coconuts has a fun vibe with good food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was yummy, but I will say my Jamaica me Crazy was watered down and bland.plus in a plastic cup. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside in the evening on a sunny day and it was nice. There are huge fans placed outside if it gets too hot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved place was colorful and pet friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had out small dog and the waiter brought her a dish of water. People were friendly. I'd go back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]It was easy to talk inside with a moderate crowd noise around the dinner time rush.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cody was our server. He was accurate, made excellent recommendations, and greated us with a smile. We'll definitely be back for the service alone. We did order one dish of a burger and extra fries. It was better then your average sit down restaurant burger. I ordered the strawberry lemonade that was a perfect balance of tart and sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Smaller details- the restaurant overall was clean, including bathrooms[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is a children's menu available.
Stopped by for lunch on our girls trip in Sarasota! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's options to sit indoor and outdoor or at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a good menu as well as gluten-free options, which was a pleasant surprise. Our waitress was very attentive and even offered some recommendations on food and drink.

This place is everything you would expect and more!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as we got there, we felt transported to the Caribbean. From the live music playing outside (which was perfect because it wasn't too loud), to the decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great, everyone was friendly and helpful. This was one of the only meals where we didn't use to-go boxes. The food was all so good, we devoured it all! My kids loved the hamburger, chicken "thumbs" and the fries. I went with the cap't shannen special, and it was so good! Imagine a hollowed-out pineapple half full of shrimp, chicken, pineapple, onions and peppers. It was a flavor overload! If I had to change one thing, I would like the rice and beans separated on my plate, but I loved this dish! O, and the house margaritas were VERY good!! Just an overall very enjoyable restaurant!

Food came out quick and hot. Our group ordered coconut shrimp entree, Chicken Tinga Tostados, Ribs, & Mahi Mahi Sandwich. overall the food was okay. Culinary equivalent of a rom com you didn't expect to enjoy: chaotic, messy, but surprisingly satisfying in the end. The food exceeded expectations, but let's talk about the ambiance reflected in rating: the bathroom looked like it survived spring break '09, and our server was in a constant game of tag with coworkers for help. Refills? Bussing? Emotional support? Thankfully, the kitchen carried the whole operation on its back like an overworked lifeguard. Verdict: Come for the food, stay for the fries, and hold your breath if nature calls.
Stopped in a bit late for lunch on a Monday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was fairly full, but we snagged a table outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the st tropaz fried chicken sandwich. It was cooked to perfection, as were the fries on the side. The sauce, however, lacked flavor as did the fries. Calypso sauce is just mild buffalo sauce apparently--not a very good one at that. Very oily. I wish they'd said that and I might have tried the bbq jerk sauce instead. My mom got the nachos, but as a vegetarian she got them without the black bean chili (contains beef). This dish was a good size, but also lacked flavor. The saving grace was our waitress. She was fantastic! Very friendly, but wish she was a bit more honest when asked about the flavors.

My server did not pay much attention to us and she was just standing by the expo line most of the time. There were maybe 6 tables in the place. So as for service it was not very good. I wanted another drink and some more water, also wanted another sauce. And the salad was so soggy I could not eat it. I've never had a salad come out like this but what ever the other stuff was ok. read more

On a perfect Florida weather day you head down to St.Armonds Key and walk the town. Shopping, art show in the park and great candy and fudge stores. For lunch you need to try Cha Cha (or dinner). They have a great menu, friendly servers and tables on the sidewalk so you can watch the world go by. You may even seen a Jr. Superhero ride by. You'll see our Hawaiian Burger, Shrimp Tacos and Grouper Tacos. Make sure you try the plantains you won't be disappointed. read more

Mmmmm, voodoo ribs!
Mix of American, Cuban, and Tex-Mex at St. Armand's Circle. Pros - conch fritters are made very well and definitely recommend. The grouper tacos are also very good. Their voodoo ribs and calypso wings are ok. Cons - can get quite busy so don't expect super fast service. Live music so can get super loud if you sit too close to the stage. The food was delicious. The Mahi Mahi was tender and juicy which is hard to come by. The Brazilian chicken was a new unique flavor that we enjoyed. The staff was very friendly and helpful with their suggestions and service. The place had a nice vibe to it. I really recommend swinging by if you're in the area. read more

Came to Cha Cha Coconuts when we were in town for the weekend and was pleasantly surprised! Our server was Veronica and she was so personable and sweet. She had answers to any questions about the menu and her good vibes made our night even better. We got two pitchers of the sangria, which were super light and refreshing. We split the jerk chicken tacos and the Hawaiian burger, both had so much flavor! Would definitely come back next time we're in the area, and definitely will request Veronica! read more

We stopped in to Cha Cha Coconuts for a late lunch. We had no reservations and got a table immediately. Live music was a nice touch and our waitress, Meg Ryan, was awesome. I had the Lobster roll and it was loaded with meat. Hubby had a fried grouper sandwich that was loaded with grouper. I tasted it and it was very good. Mom had the half Cuban and salad. Cha Cha Coconuts hit the mark for an ok meal in St. Armands Circle. With an eclectic menu and beachy vibe, it's a good go-to for any tourist in the area. We walked over to Cha Cha Coconuts on Monday evening. The place was mostly empty. We chose this place due to the fact that it had a good mix of food and decently priced. We were greeted by a friendly guy by the doors who told us we could sit anywhere we like. Our server was around quick. We started with the chips and salsa for $9. For an additional $3, we got the side of guacamole. I also ordered a Yuengling draft beer. There was a lot of chips in the appetizer. Two cups of salsa and 1 cup of the guacamole. Everything tasted good but was about normal. We've had much better and fresher guac. This seemed pretty average, if not mass produced, pre-packaged. For dinner, my wife ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and I went out of the box and ordered the Mahi sandwich. The food didn't take long. Both sandwiches came with a side of fries. My mahi sandwich was decently sized but very seasoned. The menu states it is dusted in Cajun seasonings but that's all I tasted. There was a garlic mayo on here that I was looking forward to but it was overpowered by the Cajun. I tend to prefer my Mahi with a little bit of lemon and tartar sauce. This sandwich was ok. The bun it was served on was fresh and soft. It had a great bread flavor. Also on here was fresh lettuce and tomato. The pickle on the side was a little off. It made have been older. The meat of the pickle was super soft and mushy, the skin was tough. It was not appetizing. The side of fries were decent. Crispy and hot. They reminded me of Checkers fries but minus the seasoning. My wife's buffalo chicken sandwich was hefty. The large, deep fried chicken breast was smothered in sauce. They called it their calypso sauce. It also had lettuce and tomato on it, along with bleu cheese. The sandwich was drippy and messy. It was flavorful but just heavy, greasy and over sauced. My wife didn't finish it. All in all, this place was ok. The best part was the service. From the moment we walked in, everyone was friendly. Our server was super nice and checked on us a few times. She gave us time to eat and even made small conversation with us for a bit. Check this place out if you're looking for a beachy, tropical lunch or dinner in a laid back environment. Another plus is the price of beer. Not sure if it was happy hour or what but my Yuengling draft was $3, cheaper than the $4 soda my wife ordered. read more

We arrived at Cha Cha Coconuts a half hour before closing and they pretty much let us know they really didn't want us but were diplomatically nice about it. So, we just ended up having some rather weak cocktails. But, it's an interesting place. Other than their Jamaican style Voodoo ribs with a guava sauce (their house specialty) that I had on a prior visit; it is pretty much run-of-the-mill bar type food ranging around $16.00 in price. That is unless you consider chicken fingers an actual entrée or consider burgers with pineapple to be an actual meal. read more

Born raised Sarasota local, came down from Orlando for the day with my mother law from Utah. We had a fantastic time at cha cha coconuts. Great priced drinks, delicious beach food.
