Repairs done to a leaking pipe from a toilet on the floor above. Put out bids on Yelp for a handyman to repair the subsequent hole in the ceiling. CH services was the lowest by far at $150, compared to $350+ for other bids. Went to Benjamin Moore paints to get the right paint, and found out the hard way that they are not related to Kelly Moore interior acrylic flat wall paint 550-27-bone. My neighbor had just used the paint to do touch up work in his garage, and borrowed his, saving me $20, the cost of a quart of paint at Kelly Moore. Yep, same color for interior of his garage as my living room ceiling. Took Carlos H a week to find time to come out to my place. Meanwhile I provided the 16' ladder needed to reach the hole in my cathedral ceiling, the right paint, an industrial grade 24" fan, along with the original cut out portion of the ceiling. Carlos made a wooden frame on the inside of the ceiling, and then put wood screws in the cut out portion, fitting it inside the ceiling hole. He applied some puddy along the cracks of the opening. I mounted the 24" industrial grade fan on the top of my cat tower furniture, just below the mending ceiling hole. First use of the cat furniture in years, as my senior cat too lazy to use it anymore. Carlos waiting a while for the puddy to dry, and then applied paint directly to the ceiling with a brush, holding the can of paint in his other hand. Texture of the paint did not match the roller brush original, but not easily discernable from the ground 12' below. Work done in 90 minutes, with two intervals of waiting for things to dry. Carlos worked without a drop cloth , but no paint found on carpets below. When you get the lowest bidder, he's going to take some short cuts! read more

He came in with his partner, removed my microwave and fixed the wall with tiles. It looks very nice with good details. The wall is now ready for a new range hood. Very unprofessional doesn't pickup calls and messages instead. Probably ok for only very smalls jobs like replacing fan or taps but certainly not for the big jobs like flooring. We had a carpet in our 2-car garage they didn't know how to take out.  Took them 3 weeks to take out the carpet that too partially. He didn't sand the floor before applying epoxy and the floor we are left with is very rough. You can see the picture how rough it is and already coming off in a lot of places. The original estimated time was 3-4 days It took him 3 weeks to finish the job that too partially and now we are left with the floor where my kids couldn't play anymore as it's a hazard if they fall down on this rough floor. I wouldn't recommend Carlos to anyone very unprofessional guy takes the job without knowing how to do it. We ended up paying $400 more than the original estimate excluding all the supplies we had to get that too because of his mistakes. read more

I called Carlos, the owner of CH Services, to help me remove the bird nests under the solar panels and then clean it. I also asked him to help me clean the gutters and then install gutter guard and metal screens around the solar panels. Carlos replied to me quickly and give me a very reasonable price. After we scheduled our appointment, they arrived on time and they started to clean the gutters and solar panels with high pressure water. They are very professional and they did a very good job in cleaning the solar panels and gutters. They are going to install the gutter guards and metal screens around solar panels tomorrow. Carlos knows how to do the job. He is honest when on the job. He took care of insulating, adding window and flooring the shed for me. His team did a good job. I wish progress is not that slow (he time shares multiple jobs.), and I don't have to constantly follow up to finish the final details. He left my shelf work half way through, with wood left outdoors even when weather turned rainy. After a week, Carlos agreed to finish the shelf work. But next day, asked for more money. I contracted CH services to add a roof on an existing 30'x20' pergola. Carlos (owner - CH services) provided a bid which I accepted with my understanding that he and his team has the skill set to build the roof in a reliable and professional manner. 2 months past after starting the work, the roof was still leaking and he has not been able to root cause the leak source. The effort was challenged with constant idea churn from Carlos such as consistently reattaching the panels which created lots of holes to it, continuously re-levelling the panels, significant caulk application and eventually went with black tar patching which made the aesthetic look very unprofessional and poor quality. It was evident that Carlos and his team lacked the skillset to build a roof cover. Another aspect of my frustration was his unavailability and poor dedication to get the job completed. He would often commit to showing up to work on the job but then would not show up and will not reach out unless I started texting or calling him. Whenever he is able to come and work on the job, he and his team does a poor job in cleaning up the job site afterwards. Nails are left everywhere, paint and tar stains all over the pavers, etc. I really had a bad experience working with CH services where it had to come to a point where I had to instruct Carlos not to come by anymore and Ill will just get the job fixed and completed by other means. I am mainly commenting on the work done, quality of service provided and professionalism towards my job order and therefore cannot recommend CH services to others. Carlos doesn't have professional ethics about his job. The new toilet he installed started leaking slowly through the caulk coating at the bottom within a week. When contacted he went into a defensive mode saying it was not leaking when he installed it, so don't expect any kind of warranty on his service. Even after saying I would pay again for his visit, he confirmed to come on that Saturday, but didn't. After a follow up he said he will come the following week, again didn't. After having multiple follow up & his false promises I gave up. Another thing his job gives least priority to cleanliness or fine work (he says he can do all type of jobs, but I highly doubt it). He let all the dirt from ceiling fall on the newly installed toilet, vanity & floor as he didn't have anything to cover it and not even bothered to ask for one. So look out for someone else if you need peace of mind with the job you are getting done, not this one who cannot stand by his work. read more

They are okay for small jobs like fixing doors etc but don't trust for skilled labor like plumbing or electric stuff. I hired services from here for several tasks like water softener repair, fixing bathroom exhaust fan, changing air filter, fix a door, etc. It was interesting that Carlos accepted all the jobs and I was temporarily impressed for him being multi-skilled only to know later that he just says yes to jobs don't have the needed skills. Carlos worked on water softener, charged me money but soon after he left my water pressure went to zero and I had to put my water softener back to bypass mode. He worked on bathroom exhaust fan that stopped working the next day. When I opened the cover, I saw that he had jammed the fan tight against the ceiling so it couldn't rotate longer and stopped working. When I called him back to re-fix, he was acting all confused and unprofessional. I also cut him slack and let him off the hook for the water softener but asked that he should do the right thing and fix my exhaust fans. I don't know what part of it was so confusing for him to understand. Then he started ranting on texts on how much time he spent - but yeah you spent a lot of time and charged me but it's still not working. We had an unexpected substantial water leak under the kitchen dishwater at our condo. The water had seeped under the dishwasher floor and affected the ceiling to the carport under the kitchen as well as damaging some of the pergo flooring planks. Thanks to Carlos he was very responsive, came up with some good suggestions on how best to remedy the situation & put together a quote quickly for fixing the garage ceiling & fixing the flooring, treating and cleaning out the area and putting in new pergo laminate flooring. The pergo was difficult and time consuming to put back in as it's like a huge jigsaw but Carlos persisted to work with team did the whole project in about 2 days. Put in a request to get ceiling fan installed. Carlos and a few other handymen replied. I went with CH services, and wasn't disappointed. Carlos showed up after 7:00, and stood past his closing time. I should have told him it was a full install, not just exchanging a light for a fan. He even went to Home Depot to get parts needed for the install, and had it going just a little after 8:00. Communication was good, and he responded to me in a timely manner on the same night I texted him. I'm expecting that the people who say he never contacted them didn't send a text, but may have called and left a voicemail. I have issues with my VM as well, sometimes.
