Tomato Pie - small size. Thin crust, needed some more garlic, but above average for sure.

I've had two great recent experiences at Cesare's - one eat in and one take out. The eat in experience was a throwback. The inside has an old school feel, but tasteful and clean with comfy cushioned booths and tiled walls. They had Sinatra and other like crooners playing traditional pop, jazz and swing softly coming through the speakers above. The staff was friendly and prompt with their service. An older fella in a suit sans the jacket came over and thanked us for stopping in. My kid was happy that they had root beer on their fountain machine, so it was a great start for us! We came for the pizza and didn't leave disappointed. The regular cheese pizza we ordered came out hot and fresh after a short wait. The crust was thin and looked well done with dark brown and black bubbled areas, the cheese wasn't dark or orange and the char on the bottom was decent. The crust wasn't paper thin, but not too thick which allowed it to come out crispier while keeping the cheese from overcooking. It had a cracker like flavor and wasn't too firm so it still had a little bit of bend. To me it was a great combination. The sauce was a balance of salty and sweet. It could have used a tad more flavoring, but the amount was right on. I have to say in the area this pizza is tough to beat. The slices weren't stiff, but the cheese wasn't sliding off. Well executed and delicious! I think they had to have $18 for a large. They slice the pies in 12 smaller slices by default. The only con is their boxes. They are thin cardboard and can be a pain to close. The good news is the contents inside were devoured quickly so I'll deal with the box. On my second visit we ordered a large cheese pizza and a tomato pie for take out. When you walk in the pickup area, the open kitchen view shows the crew hard at work behind the counter. You can also see the Blodgett oven churning out pies right up front. They were true to their word on the 15 minute wait. The cheese pizza was just as delicious as the eat in (it lost some of its snappy crust). The tomato pie had a similar crust to the cheese pizza. The sauce was flavored nicely and layered on top of the cheese. It could have used more oil and garlic for my taste, but it was still above average. I hadn't been to Cesare's (my mother would pronounce it Che-sare's, but they call it Caesars) in well over a decade. It's still a great spot for Italian and possibly the best pizza you can get in the area. Thanks guys!

Stopped in for lunch. Had the open roast beef sandwich. First time here, definitely coming back again.

While always on the prowl for new pizza I kept seeing this place mentioned as a top contender so of course I have to scientifically see for myself if it is true.Oh boy was it ever so true. A bit out of our normal route but so worth the trip. The sauce was bright and very flavorful perfectly seasoned. I like that they have the cheese on the bottom even the crust was seasoned nicely very thin and crisp. exquisitely delicious this is by far one of my favorites probably even in the top five anywhere right now. Stupendously delicious and for sure will be coming back.

Here is a description of the $11.95 appetizer as it appears in and on their digital & printed material.

Original tomato pie is very very good. Crispy, light and flavorful. But don't sleep on homemade rice pudding

Primo Hoagies make decent subs, but their prices have risen to become too high for what they are…read moreworth. I realize that inflation is a thing, but they've gone above and beyond what other shops are charging. On my most recent visit, I got a chicken cutlet sub (Primo sized) which weighed in around 17 ounces, and cost $15.99. Bottom line is that when considering the price per ounce, Primo Hoagies is higher than most other places that I get subs from, but their quality is at best on par with, and often lower than, other places I frequent. You can usually find a $2 off coupon to make the price a bit more reasonable, but I just can't be bothered. There are just too many other options for better sandwiches at better prices near me to justify going to Primo Hoagies anymore. If you want to charge a premium price, you need to offer something that's way better than the competition. Primo Hoagies ain't it. Honestly if I see those prices go up another buck, I'll drop my rating down another star.

Driving to NJ from Pittsburgh area on a Friday , my son called me. "Are you going to jersey? When…read moreare you coming back? Can you bring me a roast beef diablo?". So on Saturday I ordered 3 Diablos to take back to the burgh. You've got to get the primo size because that's the good bread. The other bread isn't a good or as chewy. The sandwiches were put together well and wrapped neatly. They tasted as great as expected and it makes me wish we had a primo locally. They lady at the counter was polite when I picked up. The restaurant is clean and neat. I'll always go back!

The Forager is a small local market and cheese shop with a wide variety of groceries…read more They offer sandwiches, beverages, dozens of different cheeses, several types of cured meats, local and specialty honey, hot sauces, salads, vegetables, eggs, olive oils, syrup, salts, butter, chocolate, dry pasta, tomato pie, fruits/jams, frozen Italian foods, coffee, desserts, etc. We had a lot of fun looking through all the neat items they had. The staff was kind and knowledgeable. They offered some samples of items and were a great conversation. They offer gift boxes, cheese boards and catering. Their website states they offer classes and private events. I ended up with a jar of Noccioliva - Hazelnuts and cocoa join together with extra virgin olive oil in this silken chocolate cream $18 and change (delicious, puts our US version of Nutella to shame), French black cherry jam from La Maison du Piment - made with only rare cerises noires (black cherries) harvested near the village of Itxassou in the French Basque Country, cane sugar, lemon juice and pectin and local wildflower strawberry honey from A-Frame Apiary in Boyertown. If I didn't stuff myself at Itri across the street I would have bought some cheeses and a sandwich, but I'll remember that for my next venture to Bristol Borough! Some items are pricey, but fair for what you're buying. If you like small specialty markets like this give the Forager a visit! Thanks guys!
