Thus, it was of most crucial that we chose someone very trust worthy with our huge life time investment. It was a long process because it required knocking down everything I had and building everything from scratch. Because my project was large, I actually got quotes from many GCs around my area but I went with redemption in big part because of their prices. They were not the cheapest nor were they the most expensive either. But everytime my husband and I would specifically calculate a price for anything and ask them about their price, they would be right along the line range of what we we had calculated to be a respectful price. That always led me to think that they are very professional as well because obviously they are in business to make a profit but also to be fair to their customers. That was very important to me to be able to work with a company that thinks about their customers, their workers and their bottom line all at the same-time. I also felt that their payment terms aligned with ok materials are purchased they are at your house, first payment is due this day etc meaning they ask for payment when you can see where your funds are going and that allowed me to built trust throughout which is key for us when doing large projects. I also learned a lot from this project that is important to give your opinion often during the whole process. For example, I wanted my doors installed one way and once some of it was built, I realized that I need to tell the workers hey wait a minute, I actually think it looks better this way, lets change this or that before we go further. Communication is key when someone is working at your house for months, you cant just sit there and expect everyone to read your mind and ask to change things once is all finished. I felt I was able to communicate with everyone well and the workers knew very well exactly what we liked or didn't like all the time because we were always following the process. Each day that the workers finished their day, my husband and I will review how things looked and ask ourselves is this how we imagined it in our dreams? We were well aware that things may look different once installed or built but wanted to make sure that we catch anything we could potentionally not like later within a reasonable time to make adjustments. They were always very accomodating to us ofcourse within resonable expectations and within budget. I also felt that there were many times we would ask for things that were not initially quoted and they would right away tell us the change in price before it was done and I appreciated that as well. My deck and fence were done in a very reasonable time, yes we did have some delays but they were outside both of our control. You cant go into a project thinking is going to be quick, everything takes times and a lot of patience is required in construction projects this large and we knew this very well from the begining. I really enjoyed working with this company as communicaton with workers and project managers was smooth and I felt that our opinions mattered. I would love to work with them again in future projects to keep building a home that our children can enjoy for generations to come !

The house had water damage as a result of bad HVAC job (by Bardi heating, cool. Another horror story that I want to share soon..). The damage caused mold issues. Concerned for my tenant, I contacted contractors I have worked with before but they were all busy so I had to find someone else. I went on Yelp and reached out to Kyle based on the 2 good reviews. The initial convo went well and he sounded like he runs a good honest business; I went ahead and scheduled for an estimate. He gave me a quote including bathroom ceiling "repair" and closet mold removal. I agreed and paid the deposit and he came to start the job the following week. During the job, he let me know he needed to cut out the drywall in closet because the damage can't be remedied. And also the ceiling in bathroom doesn't need to be cut and can just be painted over with mold-treating-resistant paint. I agreed and asked for quote. Also now that ceiling doesn't need to be cut and repaired, I asked to adjust the first quote. He was reluctant for reasons I didn't really understand (something about because I already paid half). So I asked him to adjust the new quote and he did. So he cut open whatever he thought needed to be cut open and left a fan there for few days to dry out the remaining moisture and painted over the ceiling. At this point, the tenant needed to be out of town over a weekend after he picked up the fan. I thought this is OK so we can observe there's truly no more moisture from HVAC. And we agreed we'll schedule for him to come back and complete after tenant is back. Then he basically ghosted us. The tenant was not able to reach him at all. I was able to reach him once and he told me he has been really busy. I told him I understand but I'd like for us to get on his schedule and he said sure. I asked the tenant to try him again in case he forgets. And she was ghosted. I called and texted him just to be sure. And now I'm ghosted. A week had gone by.. My last text to him is "we will reach out to someone else" and he did not respond. I think it's safe to say at this point he doesn't want to complete the job. I don't want to say I was duped and paid more than what he actually did. I don't know if he even did a good job with mold remediation and painted ceiling. I don't know if he caused more damage than necessary. I'm not a professional and I'm not even there to assess it properly. But I'll assume he did a fair job and I paid a fair price for it. It is the fact that he ghosted on us and leaving us a mess to deal with that had me give this rating. Now we're left with a closet wall cut open, ceilings unfinished, and water stains still not addressed. I cannot recommend him. UPDATE: Given the response from Kyle's family, I changed the rating. As I said, I did want Kyle to work out to have a good reliable contractor to reach out to as a landlord managing remotely. Unfortunately it did not due to the reason stated in the response. Given an opportunity, I am sure Kyle "can" make a better impression on other customer but I can only rate on my own experience. I do wish Kyle a speedy and full recovery and his family well.
