Certified Alarm Systems in Denham Springs - Customers Beware......I did not really want to begin my New Year in a dispute but I found this too ridiculous not to speak up. I'm hoping a little social media will make this company re-think how they treat their customers....Here goes.....I recently sold my primary residence in Walker, La. My home security was monitored by the company (Certified Alarm Systems) since I bought it in 2013, at $23.50 per month - they weren't the highest, nor the lowest. I would consider myself a good customer, never a late payment, yada, yada......Once I sold my house and moved out (not before), I called to cancel the monitoring. Next thing, I received an e-mail from this company with an attachment called a "Buyout Addendum". Basically, this company signs you up for 1 or 2 years and thinks that you/customer should be liable for the entire amount even if you sell the house!!!! I have never heard of a security company thinking they deserve payment for services that you no longer need or won't receive!! I was stunned. They are absolutely serious! They do offer to waive the payment though, if you get the new owner to use them for monitoring!! By this time I was laughing. I have no input what so ever on who the new homeowners should choose to do business with. I also don't recall ever agreeing to be a salesman for this company........So, here we are....After several calls and e-mails, Certified Alarm Systems in Denham Springs still thinks that I should pay for the next 3 months even though I no longer live in the house. They call it "anticipated profits" and claim that they suffer financially if someone terminates service early - they count on that money...........WTH?!!!! I'm now sitting here trying to figure out how we/consumers can use this to our advantage - if I come up with a plan, I will share it with all of you....I mean, wouldn't you love to be able to collect money for something that you don't provide, just because you were counting on that money coming in? L...O....L...!! ............So, all kidding aside now, I think this is not only extremely low and an abuse of the use of a service agreement, this should be illegal..........Attention attorneys out there.....if they're trying to pull this on me, they have surely done it to hundreds or thousands more.....Sounds like a good Class Action case to me..... read more
